The Restless Spirit’s Father - Chapter 349
In fact, when Li Heilong was attempted to be killed that day, the tycoon knew that the Wu family had started its retaliation. With the Qiao family suppressed and under heavy restrictions because of the cases being filed by the Mian family itself, they had no room to wiggle. The Qiao family was a vindictive machine. There was simply no way their enemies would be staying peaceful now that they had openly declared war.
It was just not Qiao Dong’s style.
Unlike Qiao Muwei who was careful of the Shaman Association, Qiao Dong was a man who wanted to push his men to the limits. They had already destroyed two big families, but they kept on failing to hit on Li Heilong and Liu Xiaodan. It was a good thing that they still had their own allied families—especially the Wu family.
Li Heilong mercilessly snatched the whole Wu Corporation from their hands, and they couldn’t believe that Wu Zhong would sign a childish contract without thinking about them. Then again, if Wu Zhen would be asked, it was very likely for Wu Zhong to just give his whole life to a stranger than to them. He was a pea in Li Heilong’s pod.
Right now, they found out that Chuan Nayi’s mother was one of the founders of Breakthrough. Not only did they need to silence Breakthrough in their contacts, but they also got a chance to lure the woman out and teach her a lesson about touching things that did not belong to her. What was there to think about?
“Alright, I’ll wait for it.” Liu Xiaodan hung up first after Li Heilong gave him a grunt in acknowledgment. He then turned to the demon child standing next to him, his big round eyes looking up at his father. Liu Xiaodan squatted down and c.a.r.e.s.sed his head. “I’m sorry. It would have been easier if I could move out right now.”
“You decided to be enslaved by that family. It can’t be helped if we could only wait right now.” Guangru was even pouty when he somewhat scolded Liu Xiaodan. Then again, he didn’t push it since it was his father’s sentence… a sentence rooting from a chain of murders that he, Guangru, started.
Liu Xiaodan didn’t take his son’s words to heart. He knew that the friends were disappointed and were only appeased by purified peaches. When it came to it, they still wanted to regain their freedom.
He didn’t know why, but he suddenly felt like one of them stepped outside his body. “Master…”
“Bihan?” Liu Xiaodan turned to face the female demon, and she blinked once as if waiting for him to speak. When he didn’t, she then fiddled with her hands. “Bihan remembers a few things. Bihan thinks she knows the green car. Would you like to come with Bihan to a place?”
…
Liu Xiaodan actually wanted to send Chuan Nayi home, but he figured they might contact her for her mother. He just helped her lock the house and drove her to the place where Bihan was telling him. It was still within the city, but it was closer to the Li Family Villa that was under renovation right now. It was among the houses in the rich district where business tycoons would live.
Even if they did not live in that place, all Guangru had to do was to turn the whole car into a ghost that wouldn’t be caught by cameras and could pass through guard beams. The only downside was that they couldn’t get out of the car like this. It’s not like they had to comb the whole neighborhood after all.
Soon, Bihan had them stop in front of a tall set of gates. The ghost car entered the premises and pulled up in the wide parking space to see a huge mansion with a great aura. The smell of money was evident from the very look of it, and Liu Xiaodan figured that the people who lived there wouldn’t be afraid to tell people that they were wealthier than a city.
“It’s not here…” Bihan tilted her head and tried to look for the green car in her memories.
“If it’s ferrying someone to some port warehouse, then it shouldn’t really be here,” Tang Mingming spoke, but it wasn’t laced with ridicule. His brows frowned as he stared at the cars as if something was also tingling his memories. Then, it seemed to have hit him. “Xiaodan, we should leave. I don’t think we should be here.”
The transcendent didn’t take a look at him, but the silence given to Tang Mingming made him add more words. “The aura in this place… it resembles a few whiffs that we have gotten from Wu Corporation. Well, what Guangru had given us from Wu Corporation…”
Liu Xiaodan believed Tang Mingming. It was as if his ability to distinguish blood relations from the scent of blood and aura was inherited from this friend. Moreover, Bihan took them here. There was a big chance that she had gone here when she was still alive.
Then, the door opened.
It was already past midnight, and people were not supposed to be awake anymore. However, a familiar person walked out of the place. Du Zhizhuo walked out ahead, followed by some burly men. Jackets were on their arms as if they were concealing guns. Three more men were pushed out of the place and into a blue van.
“Make sure everything is recorded. Don’t let anyone know what is going on.” An old man in his sixties stood tall by the doorway. His back was straight, his face angular and hardened. His hair was already salt and pepper, but his clean-cut hair and shaved chin made him quite younger than his real age.
“Don’t worry. We know how to make that guy run around like a headless chicken.” The other man he was talking to made a gloating grin and left the place in that blue van. Liu Xiaodan then asked the three other friends to follow suit. As for them, they continued to watch the man who didn’t even leave the doorway.
Then, a venomous-looking lady walked to his side and crossed her arms as she watched the blue van leave. Her hair had a shine of green—despite being lush black—from the lights coming from inside the house. She then sneered. “Big Brother thought that battling a Li Heilong would be easy? How foolish.”
The old man didn’t have much emotion on his face, but he still glanced coldly at the sneering woman. “Miss Li should be in the hospital right now. What is her condition now?”
