The Restless Spirit’s Father - Chapter 362
Too late? Li Feng had a different reaction than the rest. Moreover, no one knew why Qihui actually said such a thing. However, the suspense was only carried on for a few seconds as Qihui grinned widely. “Tch, the father is connected through blood with this beautiful boy. Killing the boy now would only fuel his anger.
“One of the assassins had been recruited by the wishing tree. I can feel her getting closer and closer.” She then turned to the old men. “Humans are not affected by the maze formation as long as they could trace the physical track of another person who came here. If that father knew faces, he could probably sing a thing or two towards this Li Heilong that you fear.
“Be quick and take caution. I can smell different blood scents entering the premises. These could be someone’s dirty dogs, don’t you think?” Qihui laughed out as she jumped off of Li Feng’s back and moved along the ground in a long squat like she was actually an insect instead. “I love these blood scents. They give me the fragrance of death. I will devour them…”
She moved towards the door, but she turned to rotate her head with almost 180-degrees, facing them behind her. “Don’t try to kill the boy now. If you decide to ignore me, I will only spit ‘I told you’ on your corpses.” With that, she sped away.
Even if Wu Zhen was terrified of such things that his brother would even freely experiment on, he was still indignant for being looked down upon by that Qihui. She didn’t say it blatantly, but she still felt like she had been looking at lesser creatures the whole time. He then glanced at Qiao Dong. “What do we do now?”
“Hmph, Qihui is an old demon that had been serving the Qiao family for generations. She hibernated after the formation of the Black March. The families were simply too scared to offend us, and she found nothing to eat if not the Qiao disciples themselves.” Qiao Dong only knew of this demon from the scriptures that Qiao Muwei hid. He was actually clueless about most of the demons that he had released to make up the numbers lost.
“If Qihui says so, there must be a chance that she is correct.” Qiao Dong refused to do what a demon said, though. He then took a look at Yingxia. “Yingxia, intercept the enemies outside. Come, Mr. Wu.”
The Qiao family head then waved his hand, and Yingxia vanished from the room. He only walked with Wu Zhen, but as he got to the door, he snorted at the image of Li Feng. “I don’t need him anymore, Hongfei. Kill him.”
Li Feng’s eyes widened, but they suddenly narrowed in self-pity. In the end, he couldn’t survive the encounter. He only took a look at the body of his girlfriend as she moved her hand. The nails grew rather longer as blood dripped from her skin. The ruthless grin on her face returned.
“Feng’er… it was so fun while it lasted. Don’t worry, after killing you, Hongfei will let her see you once, so you could still hear her crying for you.” Hongfei readied for an attack, and Li Feng only stared at her. He didn’t say anything anymore and bit down on his cloth gag. Finally, his eyes closed as she went through the motion.
Swish!
On the first floor of the secret rest house of the Qiao family, the guards were already running around all over. Wu Shuang was in one of the rooms, and she only watched and listened to the footsteps of the full-geared guards and shamans in white uniforms. Her long lashes fluttered slowly before she huffed. She then turned to the bed inside the room, her disdainful eyes on the figure sitting on it.
What a disgrace.
She then spoke, her tone colder than the Everest, “You’re not even better than Ran.”
“Am I dead?” Wu Jiao huffed as he consoled his abdomen. He was still very angry at the ending of what happened in the hospital. He was hoping to play Li Xin to death with his own hands. After all, Li Xin was still a beauty as his standards were not that high. Anyone was more beautiful than this bitch of a sister.
Who knew that the woman was a maniac? Li Xin was keeping a scalpel under her pillow and even slashed mercilessly at his abdomen. It didn’t help that Wang Yusheng was both alive and armed. It seemed that the doctor couldn’t even be killed by the King that he sent earlier. Tch, he clearly estimated the Li family.
Wu Shuang didn’t answer him anymore. Actually, they were all appalled when Wu Ran’s body surfaced. He wasn’t killed by guns unlike his borrowed men; he was attacked by a wild animal. There was simply no one in the right mind or state could break Wu Ran’s jaws open, and even gouged out almost every organ in his body.
“Shuang, Jiao.” Wu Zhen called on his children and only waved at them to make them follow him. The two then left the room without questions, the eldest limping because of his wound. He was not even supposed to be moving, but he couldn’t afford to stay in one place only.
“What’s the situation, Father?” Wu Shuang hummed as she walked just a couple of steps behind Wu Zhen while Wu Jiao lagged behind.
Wu Zhen glanced at the poised and composed pair of children. He didn’t know where they were getting their confidence that they could ride out this calamity. Then again, it’s better than a couple of wailing snotty fellows… like how Wu Ran would have been if he was still here.
Wu Zhen’s brows furrowed. “Not good. But the Qiao family is starting a counterattack. If we’re lucky, we might be able to kill that Project Hades today. Jiao, are you still going with the plan?”
“Yes, Father.” Wu Jiao felt discomfort as he had to speak while moving… not to mention keep up with their speed. He was basically disemboweled by that bitch in the hospital, and he was expected to be in a good state right now? Tch, if Wu Ran didn’t die, at least he could order around the panicky man to carry him, so Wu Ran would still be useful. Moreover, the middle child would probably shut up.
“He just had to die…” Wu Jiao hissed. He also remembered how his brother was fed to an animal… an animal that was once human. The reports found no animal saliva on the body, only broken nails that surely belonged to a person. His brother was mutilated by another human being, and he wanted to kill whoever dared to do such a thing to his Wu family member. “Whoever dares shall die, too…”
