The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 819
Corrine’s words made Angelo’s hands pause for a second. It seemed that everyone took the engagement as real except her.
Just then, Hale walked to Drake and whispered something to him.
“Then leave him alone,” replied Drake calmly.
“Well…” hesitated Hale.
Angelo looked at them, wasn’t sure who they were talking about.
“Patrick doesn’t want to eat? Well, that’s all right. He’s not a kid anymore. He won’t starve to death,” added Corrine.
Angelo then realized that they were talking about Patrick.
But that was weird. Since he was forbidden to eat for three days with her, he had been very active in every meal. So, why did he won’t eat today?
While Angelo was lost in thought, Patrick walked down lazily. When he passed the dining hall, he greeted Corrine and Drake and then went out. In the whole process, he didn’t even look at her.
Angelo breathed a sigh of relief in her heart, she couldn’t stand Patrick being so enthusiastic.
However, the atmosphere at the table changed, especially Drake, who didn’t look happy. Finally, the delicate atmosphere was broken by a cough of Corrine. Angelo looked at her and saw that she was looking at her.
“Has your brother been in touch with you lately, Angeline?”
Just as Angelo thought, Corrine didn’t forget her “grandson.”
“Yeah. I told Drake this morning that my brother called me yesterday. He said he’s fine and asked us not to worry about him.”
Angelo was so good at telling the lie that she almost believed that her twin brother called her yesterday.
“Good. Then I don’t worry about it.”
Corrine looked relieved, but still, there was loneliness in her eyes.
Tears welled up, and Angelo felt bitter in her throat. She had played a role from the age of eighteen to sixty. To make it more real, the director asked her to act the whole life of the role.
Angelo had experienced her eighteen and knew how to act, but sixty was not a state she could reach only by imaging.
To better portray the role, she went to meet people of the ages she had never experienced, and one of the most impressive places she visited was a nursing home where people’s average age was 60.
Angelo stayed a month there and knew what an old man wanted most. Though they talked about how good life was in the nursing home, they looked at pictures of their children and wept in private.
Just like Corrine, no matter how strong and independent she looked, she wished to spend time with her kids.
“Do you miss my brother, grandma?”
Angelo tried to keep calm in case others heard that there was something wrong with her voice.
Corrine stayed and then looked at Angelo, “Yeah. He’s out alone. I am worried about him.”
Angelo smiled and blinked to hold her tears.
“Don’t worry. I’ll tell him. He must miss you, grandma.”
She knew it was risky to change identities. But for Corrine, Angelo would like to take the risk.

After dinner, it was late. Drake didn’t seem to send Angelo back. Corrine had taken her as Drake’s wife and told Drake to take good care of her.
Angelo felt embarrassed, but she knew Corrine loved her, so she could only listen to her with a smile. After Corrine left, she took off the disguise.
“It seems that I have to marry you, right?”
Angelo looked at Drake with a complex expression. She once tried hard to be with Drake but failed. When she gave up, the chance appeared.
“Otherwise? Who do you want to marry?”
Drake pinched her chin gently and stared at her.
“Ouch!” Angelo suddenly let out a gasp and frowned.
Drake hurriedly let go of his hand. Angelo held her chin and looked painful.
“Why are you all into pinching my chin? What eccentricity is that?” complained Angelo unhappily.
In the filming of the last scene, Christina didn’t just slap on her face, she pinched her chin so hard that it hurt with a gentle touch.
“We?”
Drake squinted as he heard the doubtful word.
Angelo glanced at him but didn’t say anything. She walked to the mirror, raised her chin, and found a large bruise under it.
Drake walked to her and happened to see the bruise under her chin. He frowned and asked Hale to bring the medicine kit.
“What’s wrong?” asked Drake while putting medicine on Angelo.
Angelo complained about Christina in her heart. Everything went smoothly today until the trick Christina played on her.
Though thinking about that, Angelo didn’t want Drake to take her as a delicate girl.
“Acting needs. It’s inevitable to get injured,” said Angelo casually. Just as she smiled, the pain from her chin made her smile disappear.
She looked at Drake angrily and was about to ask if he did it on purpose when Drake put the medicine back and said, “Good night.”
After that, he turned and left. Angelo stayed there for a while and then plunged into the quilt, cursing Drake inside.
At this point, Drake was giving orders to Hale. Since Angelo wouldn’t tell him about the injury, he had to find it himself.
“Call the crew. Ask them to email the video of the shooting site. And ask Clarence to send the film shot today.”
Hale did as he was told. After a while, Drake got what he wanted.
Over the next few days, filming continued as usual, with Christina playing only a minor part, and the cast was soon finished.
But to Angelo’s surprise, Christina didn’t make trouble for her these days. She didn’t do anything excessive except looking at her hatefully when meeting her.
It was good for the process of filming to finish soon. After the shooting, Angelo went to the couple, who told her that everything went smoothly.
The other branch Watts families would arrive at Boom in a few days, and they all supported Angelo to go back to the leading Watts family.
Besides, with the excuse of going out to relax after the shooting, Angelo wanted to change her identity.
After all, if Angeline and Angelo stayed in the same city, she might be exposed.
