The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 825
Angelo hugged Drake excitedly, then turned and walked briskly out of the study.
In the study, Drake stared at the door for a long time. Finally, he tried to calm the fire in his body.
Did Angelo know his affections for her? If she did, she wouldn’t have acted like that.
Drake was puzzled.
Outside, Zoey almost jumped up when she learned that Drake agreed not to transfer her. But finally, she kept her lady’s image.
“Remember, don’t trouble me for no reason anymore,” stressed Angelo again.
Patrick wasn’t against her because of Angeline, so Zoey was the last trouble she had in this family.
“Don’t worry. I always keep my word!” Zoey raised her chin. Then she thought of Angelo entering Drake’s study and asked, “Drake is so nice to you that you are allowed to enter his study!”
Hearing that, Angelo was confused, “What’s wrong with the study?”
Is there any secret inside it?
“It’s said that there are many confidential files in it. Drake never allows irrelevant people in,” explained Zoey.
“Am I an irrelevant person?”
“What else?”
Angelo became unhappy. She had worked as Drake’s secretary for a while, and now she was an irrelevant person?!
“I worked at his company. I’m not an ‘irrelevant person.’
Zoey stayed when she heard Angelo. With disbelief, she pointed at her and asked, “You worked at our company?”
“Yeah,” replied Angelo honestly.
“How could you…?” Before Zoey could finish her words, the door was opened from inside, then she changed her words, “How could you be so good?! I should learn from you!”
After saying that, Zoey pretended not to notice the opened door and ran to her room.
And Angelo just looked at Drake, thinking that he might not have heard her talk with Zoey.
Drake didn’t expect Angelo to stand in front of the door. Now she was in a daze and looked like a harmless… rabbit?!
Drake suppressed the weird thought and said to Angelo, “Why don’t you go back?”
“Yeah. I’m going right now. Good night, brother.”
Angelo felt closer to Drake since he agreed not to transfer Zoey to another school. In fact, she had known that Drake wasn’t as indifferent as he looked. But the things she did recently seemed too far that she was worried that Drake might be mad at her.
Seeing Angelo leaving, Drake went back to the study to engage himself in work.
Angelo was his brother, and he was a man. Every time he thought of that, he couldn’t focus on his work. He pinched his eyebrows, looked at the ceiling, and was once again perplexed by the presence of Angelo.
Till now, Angelo was the first person to make him suffer.
If Angelo was a girl like Angeline…
Drake suddenly came to himself. What was he thinking about? How could Angelo become a girl?

The next day, Angelo went to the Watts family. Drake sent Aiken to go with her in case they found other excuses.
As for the reason Drake didn’t come, Angelo heard that he was too busy. But it was enough to have Aiken. After all, she had seen his ability last time.
Actually, it was indeed a busy day for Drake.
He was busy buying the Watts Group.
But for some unknown reason, the major shareholders of the Watts Group were not moved by Drake’s high price.
“Mr. Thorne.”
Lisa knocked at the door and then entered the office. She placed several contracts on the table.
“Several minority shareholders of the Watts Group had signed the contracts, but there was no reply from any of the major shareholders.”
“Find out why.”
He could deal with it only when he found out the reason.
“Yes, sir,” replied Lisa. Then she walked out.
Drake stared at the contracts on the table with a complicated look. Usually, it was easy for him to purchase a company through money or other means when money didn’t work. The latter might be troublesome, but Drake had been used to it.
But for the Watts Group, he didn’t want to use the second one because once he did that, the Watts Group would have disappeared. The Watts Group was part of Angelo’s home, which was why he didn’t want to do that.
Night fell.
When Drake got home, Aiken happened to send Angelo back. They spent a lot of time at the Watts house. Parker and Rachel tried to postpone it, and they gave out many excuses that they didn’t even want to refute.
“Brother,” as soon as Angelo got out of the car, she saw Drake. She walked up and said, “You must be tired after a long day.”
Seeing Angelo being so enthusiastic, Drake felt that what he did for her wasn’t in vain.
“How’s your day?” Drake reached out to fondle Angelo’s head. He loved the feeling of her soft hair going through his fingers. But he stopped and put his hand down when he realized this thought deep inside his heart.
“Yeah. Aiken was with me, of course, everything went well, except that it took a little bit longer. But finally, my sister and I are all in the genealogy,” Angelo looked quite happy.
But Drake suddenly became a little distant. He nodded and headed to the house.
Angelo paused and then hurried up. Walking next to Drake, she cautiously looked up at him, “Are you tired?”
“No.”
“Yeah…”
While talking, Angelo’s arm touched Drake’s, which she didn’t notice until Drake moved away from her.
Did Drake hate her?
Angelo felt disappointed, and her steps slowed down.
In the living room, Corrine was waiting for them. She would leave the next day, so it would be the last night they spent together.
Angelo prepared herself before walking to Corrine with a smile, “I’m back, grandma. Sorry to make you wait for so long.”
“Don’t say that. I’m glad to wait for you.”
Different from her stern appearance before, Corrine looked so kind now.
Standing beside them, Patrick was shocked. It was the first time he saw Corrine like this.
“Grandma, you have Angelo now. Will you still love me?”
Zoey held Corrine’s arm, leaned her head on Corrine’s shoulder, and acted coquettishly. She always knew how to please the old lady.
“Of course. I love you both.”
