The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 836
Sometimes, she used her long-time saving pocket money to buy him a set of clothes. That was what she could do as a kid.
When they grew up, Angelo had proposed that McCoy moved out of the house. Anywhere was better than this house.
But then McCoy learned that he had an inheritance left by his biological parents, who ordered him to give it to him when he grew up.
Angelo didn’t know the details of the inheritance, but she guessed that it couldn’t be a small amount since Parker and Rachel didn’t allow him to leave.
However, Angelo didn’t think he had used a penny of the inheritance. Otherwise, he couldn’t live so poor.
When Angelo got out of the Watts House, there was a car parking outside. Aiken was standing near the car. Seeing Angelo come, he greeted her, “Hello, Mr. Angelo.”
Angelo nodded to him and looked at the car. Through the window, she saw Drake inside.
“Brother.”
Angelo walked to the back window and knocked on it. Then the door opened from inside. Drake looked at her, “Is everything done?”
Angelo nodded with a smile. While getting in the car, she said, “Yeah, almost. I’ll see it later.”
Angelo sat well and was about to close the door when a hand stopped it.
With one hand on the door, Palmer stood outside and asked with a smile, “Are you going to abandon me here, Mr. Angelo?”
Angelo stayed, looked at Palmer, and then Drake, who had no response as if agreed with something silently.
Angelo moved to Drake and made a space for Palmer.
Then, the car started.
Sitting between Drake and Palmer, Angelo felt quite depressed.
Since neither of them spoke, Angelo could break the silence first, “Do you come to pick me up, Drake?”
Hearing her, Drake turned to look at her, but soon his face changed as he thought of the incident that happened to her family twenty years ago.
Luckily, the change was subtle. So, Angelo didn’t know what he was thinking about, nor could she see anything different.
“Yeah,” replied Drake.
Just as Angelo was about to do something to please Drake, Palmer suddenly burst into laughter.
Angelo looked at him and didn’t understand why he laughed.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Angelo. Just go on. I’ll hold myself.”
Then he covered his mouth. But still, there was laughter.
“Stop!” said Drake.
Then the car stopped on the side of the road.
Before Angelo realized what was going on, two lines of sight crossed over her head.
Finally, Palmer got out of the car and waved at her, “You got my number, Angelo. Call me if you go somewhere next time, and I’ll…”
Before he could finish his words, the car had already rushed out. But Angelo guessed that Palmer meant that he would be her bodyguard.
But…
Angelo took out her phone and checked the address book. Sure enough, there was a number named “Palmer.” When did he save his number on her phone? She didn’t give her phone to anyone today.
While Angelo was thinking, she heard Drake’s cold voice, “Delete it.”
“What?”
Angelo looked at Drake in surprise. Didn’t Drake ask Palmer to protect her? What was going on now?
“Delete it,” repeated Drake, sounding calm.
Angelo didn’t want to offend him because she needed Drake’s help later. So, she did as he said.
“Yeah. I’ve deleted it.”
Angelo looked at Drake with glamor in her eyes as if wanting to get his praise.
Drake withdrew his eyes and was about to say that he would get her a new bodyguard when something lay on his shoulder. It was Angelo’s head.
Then she said something like complaining, “Palmer said many mean words about you.”

Angelo didn’t know how big a wave her move raised in Drake’s heart. She thought she could do that since she was so close to Drake.
Besides, she needed Drake’s help. So, Drake should be used to that.
Hearing no reply from Drake, Angelo continued, “He said you take me as a treasure. Is that true?”
With that, Angelo turned her head to face him, and her chin was on his shoulder.
When Drake turned his head, they were so close that even their breath mixed.
Angelo’s face started to burn, but she insisted not to retreat.
“That’s ‘mean words’?” asked Drake calmly.
“No. I just think of that and ask you.”
Angelo blinked and grinned like a naughty boy.
Drake stared at her for a while and then reached out to move her chin away. If it continued, he was afraid that he couldn’t hold himself anymore.
But Angelo wouldn’t let him go. She held his arm and lay her chin on his shoulder again. Staring at Drake, she begged, “Tell me, brother. Is Palmer telling the truth?”
Aiken couldn’t help glancing over them in the mirror, thinking that Angelo might be the only one Drake wanted to indulge in.
But now, there were two things in Drake’s mind: to control his feelings for Angelo and to shut Palmer up.
“I thought you knew the answer,” Drake finally replied.
Angelo then gave a sly smile, “If so, you will help me no matter what?” There were expectations full of her eyes.
But Drake squinted, “You want to ask me for a favor?”
Since she was seen through, she could let go of Drake’s arm and sit back obediently.
“Yeah. I do need your help…” replied Angelo slowly. Seeing that Drake was still staring at her, she said, “Please promise me first, brother.”
“Say it first,” Drake wouldn’t let her take the lead.
In silence, Angelo struggled for a while and finally looked at Drake pitifully, “Can’t you promise me first?”
Then there was the silence of Drake. He usually didn’t refuse Angelo since he loved her so much that he wouldn’t refuse her.
Under the begging gaze of Angelo, Drake could only follow his heart and compromised, “All right.”
He guessed that the thing she begged him might be related to the Watts. Before coming to pick up Angelo, he had got seventy percent of the Watts group, which was unknown to any member of the Ivy family.
