The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 838
“You’re just like her,” said McCoy.
His words startled Angelo.
“Seriously? I’m a man. Angela is a girl. How can we be similar?”
It had been a long time after Angelo came back to life, so she had prepared to face such a situation.
The people she knew in her last life might sense something. She didn’t mean to hide her secret from all of them. But it was not the right time for them to know the truth.
McCoy didn’t say anything more. Angelo waved her hand and turned to leave.

As for the purchasing of the Watts group, besides the thirty percent shares owned by Parker, the Thorne had settled the seventy percent. Lisa was always efficient at her work.
“All employees of the Watts group remain the same. No one knew their company had been purchased except several major shareholders.”
The thirty percent shares owned by Parker wouldn’t make a difference to the big decisions of the group. After all, the company was like a cell now.
“All right,” replied Drake.
But Lisa was confused, didn’t understand why he did that.
Vaguely, she guessed that it must be for Angelo. Otherwise, with Drake’s decisive way of handling things, the Watts group would have shut down a long time ago, and everyone would have known it by now.
Suddenly, “Call Angeline. Ask if she’s available this afternoon,” said Drake.
Lisa paused for a second but then nodded and went out to make a call.
Drake purchased the Watts group in this way, not only for Angelo but also for Angeline.
As Angeline’s assistant, Daisy got the call when she was dating outside with Darren.
When she heard Lisa’s words, she thought of Angelo as the sixth son of the Thorne now, so she got nervous and hesitated, “Well, Angeline… she….”
Suddenly, she saw the hottest movie trailers on the screen opposite her, and an idea occurred to her.
“The nomination is coming. Angeline is busy preparing for it. She might not be available. I’m so sorry.”
After the call, Daisy breathed a sigh of relief.
It was so hard to keep Angelo’s secret from others. Daisy wondered what Angelo was going at the Thorne house.
“Why were you so nervous?” asked Darren, looking at her. After spending so much time with her, he kind of know her.
Daisy was quite nervous just now, as if she was hiding a secret from others.
“No, no, no. I wasn’t.”
Her hesitation exposed that she was lying. Darren changed his face. But finally, he smiled understandingly, “It’s all right. I won’t ask if you don’t want to say it. You can tell me whenever you want to.”
Daisy was touched. Darren had been tolerant of her. She would have told him if it was not for Angelo.
When Angelo got to the Thorne house, she received a text from Daisy. In it, Daisy told her about what had happened.
“OK,” replied Angelo. Then she deleted the message.
It was normal for Drake to date her. But she wouldn’t go for it since it was easy to expose herself.
A few days later, the nomination started.
Clarence called Angelo and told her that she would be the winner, which was sure. This nomination was just a process.
Angelo had gained many awards in her last life, so she didn’t take it as a big deal.
At the awards ceremony, Laurene received her first best actress award since she came back to life.
She was wearing a glossy dress, which was custom-made for her by Daisy from abroad. It was simple and elegant. Many people recognized that it was from a famous Italian designer, who only designed one dress in a year. So, it was quite rare.
Drake also attended it. They were still like a loving couple.
After the ceremony, Drake said seriously to her, “Come with me. I need to talk to you.”
Drake usually looked serious, but now Angelo felt that he was different from usual.
“What’s the matter?” asked Angelo tentatively.
Drake looked more serious, give Angelo a sense of foreboding.
When they left the hall, Christina, who had just won the best supporting actress award, noticed them. But before she could think about it, some people came to greet her.
Inside the car, Angelo was kind of nervous. It had been ten minutes since they got in the car, but Drake hadn’t said anything yet.
Angelo looked at him and finally nerved herself to ask, “What’s the matter, Drake?”
Drake looked at her and said, “Let’s break off the engagement.”

When Angelo was sent back to Green by Aiken, she was still in a daze.
Daisy came here as soon as she got her call. At the gate of Green, she saw Angelo sitting there and looking quite depressed.
She hadn’t known what had happened yet and could only go up to support Angelo up and ask her while walking inside.
“Drake broke off his engagement to me.”
Hearing that, Daisy stopped and looked at Angelo with disbelief, “No! How is that possible?”
Angelo smiled bitterly. She had never expected that to come, but it just happened.
Drake abandoned her again.
When she got to her room, she didn’t bother to think about what would happen if she didn’t go to the Thorne house to switch her identity in time. She was just lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling, and thinking about the words from Drake… break off the engagement.
Daisy knew how much Angelo loved Drake, so she didn’t leave for fear that Angelo would do something to hurt herself. In a trance, she thought she heard a noise. As she looked into Angelo’s room, she saw Angelo roll over, bury her head under the covers, and her shoulders were shaking.
She might be crying.
Daisy felt sorry for Angelo. She paid someone to investigate if Drake was seeing some girl. However, she got nothing. Drake didn’t see any girl. Except for going to the company, he spent all his time at home. The girls he met were his business partners, and they didn’t look intimate at all.
Daisy was confused. Since Drake didn’t see any girl, why did he suddenly want to break off the engagement with Angelo?
