The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 855
Inside the car, Angelo looked at her lips in the mirror. They were indeed quite red. But she didn’t know what to do when she thought that they were from Drake.
Drake had been driving in silence. She didn’t know what he was thinking.
Angelo suddenly recalled that Clarence had said that he would come back for her. But she didn’t see him until she left. She thought about it and texted him, saying that she left first to handle something.
Clarence replied to her soon.
“I heard it. Drake has been here. Are you all right?”
Angelo glanced at Drake, who focused on driving now, so she texted, “I’m fine. Drake won’t bite me….”
Just as she inputted the words “bite me,” she stopped because she thought of how desperate Drake was when he kissed her before.
So, she deleted some and sent the message, “I’m fine.”
Soon, a message from Clarence came, “Good. I’m sorry about today. I’ll compensate you next time.”
Angelo read it but didn’t reply.
Since Drake didn’t let her get in touch with Clarence, she could only meet him as Angeline next time.
The car stopped at the yard of the Thorne house.
Angelo wanted to get off when she found that the door was locked. She looked at Drake, who was lowering his head and losing in thought.
“Open the door, Drake,” Angelo reminded him.
Drake suddenly looked at her and didn’t seem to open the door.
Angelo was frightened by his eyes, feeling that she was like prey being targeted by him.
“Drake…” she whispered, feeling that there was something wrong with him. The kiss could prove it.
At this point, Hale came over. With a click, the door unlocked. Angelo opened the door and fled the car.
If she stayed longer with Drake in the car, her heart might jump out.
Tonight, Angelo was about to go to bed after the shower when her phone rang. It was from Clarence.
“Hello, Mr. Wilson.”
“Hello. Have you got in touch with Angeline?”
“Yeah. I’ve told her about it. She said it was late today and would call you tomorrow,” said Angelo in guilty. She hated telling lies.
“All right. By the way, are you available tomorrow? I want to make up for today. I’m sorry for leaving you there?” sincerely apologized to Clarence.
Angelo didn’t think it was necessary. If Drake found them seeing each other, she might be in trouble.
“No. It’s nothing. I can understand. But…” Angelo tried to think of an excuse to refuse Clarence. But after a while, she still couldn’t think of one. She was indeed an idle man now.
“Since then, how about we meet tomorrow? You know, I wanted to talk to you about something today,” suggested Clarence, sounding quite persistent.
Finally, Angelo agreed, “All right. How about six o’clock tomorrow morning?”
She thought Clarence might have something important to talk to her, and it might be about Angeline, or he wouldn’t keep inviting her.
The appointment was six o’clock, and she would go out at five in case of meeting Drake.
“Six? So early?” Clarence was surprised.
“Yeah. I’m available then. I need to deal with something after that.”
“All right. How about I pick you up tomorrow morning?”
Angelo thought about it and refused, “Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Wilson. But don’t bother. We can meet somewhere.” If Hale saw Clarence, he would tell Drake. Then she would be in trouble.
Clarence seemed to know her thoughts.
“Well, how about this? I’ll wait for you at the turn outside your house. I’m grateful for your time. So, please don’t refuse my kindness.”
There was a road to the Thorne house. It was the private property of the Thorne family. At the end of the road, there was a turn. Trees there blocked the road, so as did the sight of the Thorne family.
Clarence must have guessed that Drake wouldn’t allow her to meet him. That was why he suggested picking her up there.
“All right.” Angelo couldn’t refuse Clarence anymore. After all, he was indeed quite considerate.
After the call, Angelo went to bed. For a while, she lay on the bed but couldn’t fall asleep. As she closed her eyes, the scene of Drake kissing her appeared in her mind.
Why?
Angelo started to think about it. The more she thought about it, the sober she was. But still, she couldn’t figure out why.
And Drake behaved as nothing had happened. He didn’t even seem to explain why he kissed her. Or he wanted to take it had never happened. But she was a man now!
While thinking, Angelo fell asleep slowly.
She had a short sleep. When it came to five, she got up. Sure enough, she didn’t see Drake at this time.
She told Hale that she would go to Angeline. Hale was about to arrange a car for her but then found that she had walked out.
At the turn, Clarence’s car was parking there, and he leaned against the car, looking at his phone.
Angelo went up to greet him, “Good morning, Mr. Wilson.”
Clarence raised his head and saw Angelo. He smiled, “Morning, Mr. Angelo. You are so early.”
Angelo spouted, “You know the reason, don’t you?”
Or he wouldn’t have suggested picking her up here.
“Yeah. My bad. I’m sorry for making you difficult for you.”
Clarence was taller than Angelo. He reached out to c.a.r.e.s.s Angelo’s head like comforting a puppy.
When Angelo came to realize that, Clarence had put his hand down. He opened the door of the car and said, “Please, Mr. Angelo.”
Angelo wasn’t used to his intimacy. But she was a “man” now and took it as Clarence’s casual behavior. With the thought, she got in the car.
Clarence closed the door and got in the car from the other side. In the car, he stared at Angelo and didn’t seem to start the vehicle.
“What?” Angelo looked at him in confusion. Clarence didn’t say anything but leaned over and fastened the seat belt.
Angelo then understood why and thanked him.
The car started. What they didn’t know was that someone photographed all their moves secretly.
