The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 860
Angelo didn’t expect that it was so hard to handle Drake this time. He used to forgive her as long as she acted coquettishly.
While Angelo was thinking about what to do, her phone rang again. It was from Clarence. She was not the only one to see it, so did Drake.
The aura in Drake seemed changed, and Angelo sensed the change. Drake was tough just now, but he appeared calm, quite different from now.
Angelo regretted bringing her phone here.
“Give me the phone,” said Drake. Angelo handed him the phone at once. It was the best choice under such a condition.
Drake answered the phone and said, “Don’t call Angelo anymore.” Then he hung up.
Angelo thought he was pretty rude but still agreed with him, “Yeah. I don’t think I should have connections with Clarence. He’s in showbiz and is popular among the paparazzi. It’s quite dangerous to be with him.”
Drake handed her the phone with doubt in his eyes.
Angelo got nervous. She leaned her head on his arm and blocked her face.
“Please forgive me, Drake. I’ll be sad if you don’t forgive me.” Somehow, she choked while speaking. Bitter welled up from her heart, so as the tears.
Drake finally softened and sighed, “I never blamed you.”
Angelo stayed and rolled her eyes in a daze, but she felt so complicated.
“Really?” She whispered and slowly turned to look at him. Drake nodded to confirm his answer.
“I knew you wouldn’t blame me!” Angelo cheered up and looked delighted. She was still acting but with more sincerity.
At dinner time, Angelo arrived at the dining hall first.
Zoey was surprised to see her there, “How come you’re here since you’re in confinement?”
“Do you want to starve me?” Angelo smiled. She could sit here because Drake had allowed her to go out.
Zoey was surprised that Angelo apologized so soon. It was like she apologized right after the quarrel.
Patrick was also stunned when he saw Angelo, but he soon thought it through. Without saying anything, he sat down to eat.
Angelo felt that Patrick seemed to have changed. One of his changes was that he didn’t go out for girls.
She had been busy and didn’t pay much attention to him, but every day she came home, she could see Patrick.
And his impression also changed. He didn’t look like a playboy now but looked calmer and steadier.
What made him change?
Angelo kept thinking about it but got no clue, so she finally dropped it.
At night, she got a message while she was about to go to bed. The addresser was Patrick, and the receiver was… Angeline!
Angelo clicked to check it. It turned out that Patrick invited her for a meeting.
In the message, Patrick didn’t call her “goddess” anymore but used her name, which was different from before.
Angelo thought about it and refused Patrick. Angeline was a star on focus now. She’d better not meet people casually, especially Patrick.
Before, Patrick had tried so hard to look for her. Everyone knew he had a crush on her. Later, when she engaged with Drake, people all joked that the girl Patrick loved became his sister-in-law.
Angelo heard about it but ignored it. With Patrick’s personality, she thought he would forget her soon. Besides, she had engaged to Drake, and he couldn’t love her.
But now, Drake broke off the engagement.
The phone beep drew Angelo back from her thoughts. It was a message from Patrick again.
“I know you don’t want much attention. But I really want to see you. The last meeting before I give you up, okay?”
Angelo stared at it for a while. She knew she couldn’t do it, but Patrick was so pathetic. He had never been so humble. After thinking for a while, she finally agreed.
They were appointed to meet at a coffee shop. Even if people saw them, it would not be a big deal. After all, the coffee shop was a public place. She didn’t think someone would ruminate with that.
The following day, Angelo told Hale that she would go to Angeline. Hale hesitated.
At this point, Drake showed up and asked the driver to send Angelo there.
Outside Green, Angelo got out of the car and then saw Daisy waiting for her.
They hadn’t seen each other for a long time. Daisy didn’t dare speak up until they entered the house, “I thought you’re going to die this time. It was such a big wave on the Internet. I didn’t expect you to come out today. And the driver sent you here.”
“I have a good brother, you know. He always take good care of me,”
The rumor broke up all of a sudden but disappeared suddenly.
When Angelo checked Twitter today, she found that all the defamatory comments had disappeared, leaving only clarifications and apologies.
Besides that, Angelo saw something different. Some people supported Angelo and Clarence to be together.
Angelo felt helpless. She used to be afraid of having any connections with Clarence. But now, some people supported them publicly.
“By the way, I heard that yesterday, Christina was….” Daisy suddenly uttered.
“Christina?” Angelo was surprised. She hadn’t seen Christina for a while.
“What’s wrong with her?”
“It seems that you haven’t heard her,” sighed Daisy.
She lowered her voice even if there were only the two of them in the house, “I don’t know if it’s true or not that someone took Christina away quietly yesterday. When her family found her, she was n.a.k.e.d, looking like she was….”
Angelo couldn’t help widening her eyes and said in disbelief, “No! How could that happen without being discovered?”
“I’m not sure. But people are all talking about it.”
For Daisy’s words, Angelo couldn’t believe it. Who dared to do that to Christina? Did the man want to die?
