The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 880
She had to say, McCoy was very thoughtful. She had considered the number was unnecessary, but now it seemed that it was necessary.
“Thank you!” Drake saved Angelo’s number, looked at her, and said, “You want to talk with Christina about the script. Just go!”
Angelo stayed there. What was that? He drove her away as soon as he got what he wanted.
She wanted to laugh. It was such a complicated feeling in her heart that she didn’t know if she should be happy or sad.
Drake treated Angelo and Angeline so differently. But neither of them was her. Did she disguise so well that Drake could recognize the two?
I forgot about it, Angelo thought, since Drake said she should go to Christina now.
Just as Christina was thinking about getting Angelo and Drake apart, Angelo came back to her, which surprised her so much that she stayed for a second.
“How… How come you come back?”
“Drake just wanted my brother’s number from me, so why would I stay there? To stand his cold aura?”
Angelo leaned against a chair and closed her eyes slowly.
Christina had planned to sit with Drake but felt embarrassed to do that when Angelo said that.
Twelve hours later, the plane arrived in France.
Angelo woke up after a long sleep. The scenes outside the window appeared clear in her eyes. She went to the bathroom to wash and added some makeup before getting off the plane with the group.
The airport was a sea of people and most Asians, which surprised Angelo. She saw some of them holding plates and learned that they were fans who welcomed them here.
“Oh, my god! Angeline, you are so popular even here,” said Cindy, standing next to Angelo. The crowd was so excited that they gave a sensational noise.
Angelo looked at the words on the boards and saw Christina’s name on them except for hers.
Christina had been famous in French showbiz. It was not surprising that fans came to welcome her. But Angelo was a new person who had just shot one movie. Why were there her fans? Or did the fans come for Christina rather than welcoming her?
As she thought, she saw a text from Drake two hours ago, when they just got off the plane.
“I’m in France now. Set up a time to meet.”
The simple words made Angelo strangled.
She just got out of the Thorne house. Would her plan over if she met Drake at this time?
She thought about it and replied to him that she was not available.
But a minute after she sent the message, Drake called.
Angelo hesitated for a long time until the ring stopped. She was relieved but worried that Drake would call again. Finally, she took out the phone card.
“Angeline, have you gone to bed?” Cindy suddenly knocked at the door.
Angelo opened the door and saw her holding a PC and pointing at the screen.
“Look, Angeline! Your topics and videos are all over it, the largest communication website! Your movie is so popular here!”
When Angelo looked at the screen, she understood why the fans welcomed her in the airport, why Absolon cooperated with Clarence and invited her to be the heroine.
***
The shooting processed faster than Angelo had thought because the crew members had known each other well and cooperated well.
Angelo stared at the heroine, even Absolon, who was picky about acting, complimented her.
Nothing happened since the movie started, and even Christina, who had not been getting along with her, strangely behaved herself.
Finally, the shooting finished. Angelo checked her schedule. She could attend Daisy’s engagement when she got back.
A celebration party was held this night. Angelo didn’t want to go, but as the heroine of this movie, she had to attend it.
Finally, a lot of people toasted her, and she drank a lot. Although Clarence refused many toastings for her, she was still drunk.
Usually, when Angelo got drunk, her brain was not sober, and she lost control of her body.
But this time, she was sober in mind but couldn’t move her body at all, which she owed to Drake and Christina sitting across from her.
Angelo had never seen Drake since they got off the plane. It was the first time at this party she saw him after so many days.
Drake was sitting among the crowd, so quiet as if he was an outsider of all this.
Christina talked to Drake, who didn’t speak much, but Angelo thought he might be happy to talk to Christina, or he wouldn’t be here.
What Angelo didn’t know was that every sentence they said was about her.
“I don’t know what’s going on. Angelo suddenly disappeared during this period. I have been looking for him but got no news.”
With that, Christina lowered her head. She could get in touch with Drake because of Angelo’s news. But now, “Angelo” suddenly disappeared. Drake might blame her for her incapability.
While Christina was in remorse, Drake said, “Angelo wasn’t disappeared. He’s avoiding me.”
“What?”
Christina stayed, didn’t follow Drake, who didn’t explain. But she got that Drake didn’t blame her.
Just as Christina was about to ignore it, she saw Absolon followed out with a malicious smile on his face.
“Excuse me!”
When Christina got out, she found neither Absolon nor Angelo in the hallway.
“Excuse me, have you seen Angeline Watts?”
Christina topped a passing waiter, who looked like an American.
Then the waiter said in English, “Yeah. I saw Miss Watts went to the door. Absolon said she drank too much and would send her back.”
“Absolon was with Angeline?”
Christina frowned, having a sense of foreboding.
“Yeah.” The waiter seemed to be startled by Christina’s tone, thinking that something big might have happened. Then he saw her hurried downstairs, seeming to go after Angeline.
