The RISE Of NATHALIA CARTER - Chapter 889
In the quiet room, McCoy had been wearing a smile after the call with Angeline. He was waiting, quietly and patiently.
Suddenly, the knock on the door sounded. Before any answer from the host, someone pushed the door open.
It was Angeline, looking irritated.
Bearing a straight face, Angeline walked to McCoy and sat down next to him.
McCoy smiled, poured a glass of warm water, and put it in front of her.
“Have some water. You seem to hurry here.”
Angeline pushed the glass away and shook her head, “Thanks. You know what I come here for. Can you tell me now?”
As soon as she finished her words, she felt a knock on her neck, and then there was the deep black.
McCoy made an eye to the man beside her. The man understood him, nodded, and left.
“Ding!”
A message came. McCoy knew the car came. He placed the hat he had prepared in advance on Angeline’s face and then held her up to leave the room.
In the Thorne Group office, many staff was still working, although they were already off work.
“Ding!” A new email appeared on the computer! Drake took it as a work email and clicked it open. But when he saw the pictures, he squinted his eyes and began to get angry.
“All off duty now!”
He closed the computer and strode out of the office.
It was a deserted factory that McCoy found. Blocks of rubble and unfinished, broken walls were everywhere. It was indeed a perfect place to hide people as well as fight.
McCoy didn’t want to act so early had it not been for them pushing him hard and threatening to withdraw all the support if he didn’t do anything. He had planned to give Drake some easeful days and later give him a fatal blow in his prime.
“Boss, he’s here!” A man ran in to report. McCoy smiled, put on his mask, and then made a sign. Everyone here hid away as plan.
A few mournful bird calls could be heard faintly in the still night, some muffled footsteps sounded. The smile deepened under McCoy’s mask.
“McCoy!”
Drake stopped three meters away from McCoy. His face was cold, as well as the word he said.
“Where is Angeline?”
McCoy shrugged and held out his hands in a helpless gesture.
“As you see, it’s not big. I know you’re a smart man. How about you find her yourself?”
Just then, a faint “Help!” came to Drake’s ear. His face changed. McCoy also stayed, wondering what was wrong. Before he took any move, a sharp pain shot through his temple, and he fell to the ground.
“All out!” shouted McCoy.
He didn’t expect Drake’s sudden action. The pain annoyed him. And he ordered all the people out.
Drake’s face became serious. He had been practicing for years, but there were too many people around.
“Help! Hel… Drake!” Angeline stumbled as she ran. The footsteps behind came nearer and nearer. Just as she was about to despair, she saw a familiar figure in the front fighting with many people.
Hearing Angeline’s voice, Drake stood still for a second. At that moment, a wooden stick struck hard on his back. With a pause breath, he quickly turned and kicked the man away.
“Get down!” Drake shouted. The look in his eyes was freezing.
Immediately, Angeline squatted down. Then she heard a cry of pain near her as a man fell at her feet.
“Ahhh!” Angeline screamed, crouching there in a panic. Drake reached for her and held her in his arms. With a half-broken stick in hand, he wiped the blood off his mouth and said, “I’m gonna run that way in a minute. You take the chance to run, understand?”
Angeline shook her head, “No! No!”
Drake turned back and grabbed Angeline’s shoulder. Just as he was about to say something, he saw Angeline widened her eyes big.
“No!”
Angeline seemed to be saying something, but Drake couldn’t hear her, just buzzing in his ear.
His eyes seemed to be heavier and heavier. Then he fell into the endless dark.
“Drake! Don’t scare me, please! Drake!” Tears full of Angeline’s face. She hugged Drake tight and screamed desperately.
People were coming close to them. Standing in the corner, McCoy was about to give an order when he heard the sound of tires screwing on the ground. He looked away and quickly ordered, “Go!”
Then the group quickly left.

When Drake woke up, several days had passed. He lay on the bed, with thick gauze wrapped around his head.
Hearing the noise of someone coming in, he turned with a stern look. But different from before, the look in his eyes seemed to look at… a stranger!
“Mr. Thorne?”
“Who are you?”
With disbelief, Angeline took a few steps back.
“Mr. Thorne, you may have lost some memory because of the injury. This is Miss Angeline, Angelo’s sister. Angelo… Do you remember him?” Standing beside Drake, Aiken made an explanation to him.
“Then where’s Angeline?”
“My brother… He’s abroad.” Angeline didn’t expect Drake to remember Angelo since he had amnesia.
“I don’t know where he is. He never called me.”
Drake didn’t believe her at all and thought that Angeline deliberately hid it from him. So, a slight glint of anger gathered in his eyes. Even his voice became deep and low, “You have to give me something if you want to get out of this room. I’ll see what Angelo will do if he can’t get in touch with his only sister.”
Angeline swallowed with nervousness. Drake didn’t seem to joke with her. Ideas were spinning in her mind, she thought for a while before saying, “I can try to contact my brother, but I can’t guarantee if he wants to come or not.”
The coldness in Drake’s eyes dispersed. But he still gazed at her. After a while, he said, “I have to see Angelo in ten days.”
Angelo had no choice but to agree. She knew she couldn’t change Drake’s mind. He was very stubborn. He just wouldn’t give up his mind if he didn’t make it.
A few days later, when it came to the date that Drake required Angelo to show up, Angeline got up early in the morning, changed her appearance, and came to Drake’s house with a big suitcase.
