The Rise Of Quetzalcoatl - Chapter 137
“HAHAHAHA! YOU FOOLS! DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD KILL ME LIKE THA- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
Everybody here had already expected him to stay alive after getting his head cut off, and as Mia was the only one with fire, she burned not only his head but his body.
He went up in flames as his bloody tears evaporated into nothing.
“Alright, I mean, one of them is in Egypt, right? Let’s just go there now,” Charna says, but we had to finish things up here, so we had to stay for just a few more days.
“At least we have some good rooms now. There’s no way I’m sleeping down in that dump,” Amanda muttered as everybody secretly eyed Charna, who was still breathing heavily from the amount of adrenaline that was coursing through her veins.
“I’m going to take care of some of the smaller lords that we noticed. It should be quick,” Charna says with a smile before sinking into the shadows below her.
We were all left speechless by her new attitude.
“What do you think happened?” Mia asked.
We all thought the same thing as it was clear this wasn’t a standard change, but an impulsive one that was most likely lit by something…
“Emotional… maybe? Maybe she misses her family… Or, this could still be how she is normally. I mean, she grew up in a family of ȧssassins, so who knows what could’ve happened there,” I say, and suddenly, something clicked into my mind.
“What’s wrong?” Aria asks as I gesture for her to shut up.
“I’m thinking….”
“Okay, well, we’re going to sleep. It doesn’t look like it because it’s so dark in here, but it’s 12 at midnight,” Mia says before everybody leaves me in the room.
Let’s go over everything… starting with Charna…
Is it due to her fiance? I’m sure it is… No, I’m positive because what ȧssassin family would allow one of their children to marry… and if they did, why would they ever let them fall in love with their fiance.
I saw her face… and she did seem to love him…
“Okay, let’s just ask her when she comes back,” I muttered before sitting down in the office chair.
I then pulled out my phone and began to input all the information we currently had.
One in Egypt. Two in Korea. Four in the US… Damn, really? Four in the US? And then… One… in Norway.
“What the hell is Mom doing? If they were all this weak, she could’ve handled them… What the hell is she doing?”
It’s scary… and I don’t want to think about it… but what if they everything she had done… was to manipulate me.
“But then, how can you tell the difference between real love and fake love?”
To be honest, I was a bit desperate for the answer, so I began to search it up on my phone but only got some philosophical bullshit that was made by a quote on quote… “expert.”
“*sigh*… Let’s not think about it now… So, first, we travel to Egypt. Then maybe to the US… Norway… and then… Korea… What a long trip,” I muttered before leaning back in my chair, holding my forehead as a headache continued to grow.
…
The following day was completely miserable as there was no sunshine, no warmth, just dark, muggy, cold air that filled my lungs.
“How do people live here?” I muttered as I sat up from the office chair and saw the drug lords whose ȧsses we kicked, kneeling at the end of the desk.
“Good morning,” They all greet me as I rub my temples.
“Report…”
“Just as you had said, our profits have doubled. But, there are a few junkies dying now, which is a bit… well,”
“What? Speak up,”
“It’s a bit bad, isn’t it?”
“How?” I ask.
“I mean, aren’t we losing customers?”
“Hmmm… Then, lower the potency a bit more,” I said, and they all nodded their heads before leaving the room.
I don’t expect them to be loyal servants, but if they betray me, of course, I’ll have them humiliated and killed in front of their actual loyal underlings.
Also, what we basically did was lower the potency of the drug, so it isn’t as fulfilling. But, this also meant others were buying too much in order to get the same fill, but what they didn’t realize is that we didn’t lower it by too much… So, they end up OD’ing, and that’s it.
Who would’ve thought I’d be a drug lord by the age of 18…
I chuckled to myself before all the Tolf girls had a meeting.
“We’ll stay here for a month because there are smaller cities like this which we can completely take over. We fill the drinking water with just a tiny bit of this drug, so they eventually become totally addicted… that is the easiest way to manipulate them… And then, we’ll move onto Egypt and do our shit from there,” Charna says.
“Sounds good,” Clio says while kicking her legs back onto the coffee table in front of us.
“Ummmmm… I still don’t like this idea of drugging the citizens. They may all be terrible people, but they’re still humans,” Sophia speaks up once again.
I could see everybody wanted to just roll their eyes, but out of respect for her, we decided to give her an option.
“Fine… You can leave and do what you want here. You’re still friends with us, a girlfriend to Astra, but you won’t be involved with Tolf. I mean, you’ve been sticking with us for a while despite not actually being part of Tolf… So,” I say, and Sophia looks at me with determined eyes.
“I will make sure not to cause you any trouble then,” Sophia says before slamming down her jug of water and storming off.
“I have a bad feeling about this….” Astra mutters.
…
(Sophia POV)
Those damn psychos! They may be terrible humans, but they’re still humans!
You may not be humans anymore, but can’t you have even an ounce of sympathy for your past race?!
“Miss, can you buy me a piece of bread? Or maybe just a cup of water? I’m starving,” A little boy who seemed to be only about seven years old begs as he tugged on my dress.
See? Not all of them are bad? And you’re saying you want to drug people like this? There are still some innocent people here?!
“Of course,” I respond with a smile, and the boy’s face lights up as if he just won the lottery.
“Thank you!” He shouts while jumping up and down.
So, I quickly took his hand, and we ran through the dark and dirty streets before we found the food aisle where tons of food was being sold.
The food didn’t have perfect quality as most of the bread was moldy, but to the kid right here, it was like an amazing 5-star restaurant experience.
“Can I have some water?” He asks after ŀɨċkɨnġ his lips.
“Sure sweetie,” I respond before taking him to the vendor right next to the bread one and I buy a cup of water.
“C-can you make sure i-it isn’t poisned?”
