The Rise Of Quetzalcoatl - Chapter 139
Her pupils continued to slim, and her fire burst even more as she tore the corpses apart until absolutely nothing was left.
“ROOOOOOAAAAAAAAR” She roared like a real dragon before a small voice caused her to pause.
“Astra?”
Suddenly, Astra stops in place, and the crackle of the fire surrounding her dwindles by just a bit.
She turns around and walks towards Sophia, who was still coated in the rocky substance as if we got any closer, we would all be injured, so we were forced to wait for her to calm down.
Sophia was a bit frightened by Astra quickly approaching her… but as soon as she stopped in front of Sophia, I could see her fire dwindle even more.
Her girlfriend’s frightened face then began to relax as she saw Astra’s bloodshot eyes.
“It’s okay… I’m safe,” She says as the stone crumbles into ash through Astra’s flames.
Her hand raised, and she placed it against Astra’s cheek, and the fire strangely didn’t burn her hand as she rubbed her cheek.
In an instant, the fire was extinguished, and Astra had tears flowing from her eyes.
“Please don’t scare me like that again,” Astra says before she hugs Sophia.
And I thought Sophia would be happy, but she didn’t really do anything as her face turned a bright red.
“Y-you’re not wearing any clothes,” She mutters as she looks up, avoiding Astra’s nȧkėd body.
“Where’d you get that?” I ask as I haven’t seen her use these before.
I also caught a glimpse of her neck and cheeks which had returned to normal… but her next evolution will probably have the scales… just like me.
“I’ve always had it. It’s a skill called [Draconic Blood Flames],” She responds as Sophia tries to calm down.
Also, I’m wondering how they managed to get together when Sophia showed no signs of being a lesbian.
“Oh, I have the same,” Charna says as she creates black flames.
“They’re called the exact same thing?” Astra asks.
“No, the skill is called [Draconic Shadow Flames],”
So their skills aren’t exactly the same as mine, but the vibe and feel they give off are pretty similar to mine.
“Draconic, huh?” Nuala mutters as she plays with an ocean blue fire within the palm of her hand.
Electra was also playing with a flame, but her’s was an icy blue, similar to the one I currently have…
“Anyway, did you learn your lesson?” I ask Sophia, and she flinches upon hearing my words.
She tries to avoid eye contact as I slowly approach her and release my bloodlust.
Astra tried to stop me, but Nell stopped her, as this was a good development for her, as the naive mentality would get her killed eventually.
“Y-yes ma’am,” Sophia says as she bows her head apologetically and slightly looks up at me with puppy dog eyes.
Her eyes made my heart wrench, but I knew I couldn’t give in as I flicked the back of her head.
“Good,” I mutter before we make our way out of the dungeo- hole that Astra had burned into the ground with her overwhelming flames.
The temperature is extremely high, but that was pretty much it.
Judging by how it has blood in its name, I thought it would have a unique property that’s related to blood or something.
“Oh, it is related to blood,” Astra taps into my own thoughts.
That’s the problem with this complete hivemind… We have no mental privacy as there are no boundaries.
The server that we could tap into is completely gone, as now we can just tap into each other’s minds.
“Can we make a rule that prevents from tapping into each other? It’s really annoying,”
Nobody agreed with me…
“Tch… Anyway, how is it related to blood? I can’t see it,”
“You know how I tore open my arms to pour out more blood? That was basically the fuel for the fire. And as you can see, all the blood is gone,” Astra says.
Oh, I guess that does make sense… but what doesn’t make sense is how her torn open forearms had already recovered.
“Oh, the fire can also heal me,” She says, and I click my tongue once again.
Can’t I have any privacy…?
We soon made our way back to the base we were using, and Sophia immediately jumped on the bed as she was exhausted, but all of a sudden, she jumped off, her face paler than a ghost.
“I-I’m gonna take a shower,” She mutters before stumbling her way down the dirt stairs.
“Go with her,” Mia gestures to Astra as it seems Sophia has a bit of trauma from what just happened… so I can’t blame her for wanting to clean herself.
…
(Astra POV)
“Sophia, wait up!” I shout as I quickly make my way down the stairs, but Sophia doesn’t reply.
Dammit… I’m such an idiot… How could I let her roam the streets… It’s all my fault.
No, Lucy clearly antagonized her so she could learn the hard way… That damn manipulative bitch.
‘Astra~ I can hear you,’ Lucy says through the hivemind.
I guess I deserve that…
“Sophia?” I said as I opened the door to the bathroom, seeing her crying as she furiously washed her lips and cheeks.
“Did we… not make it in time? D-did it already happen?” I asked as I thought we had arrived before anything could happen.
Sophia didn’t reply as she continued to gargle hand soap and water.
“Stop! Sophia, it’s okay!” I shout as I maneuver behind her and hug her from behind.
Tears continued to flow from her face, but this time, she spat out the gargled soapy water and grabbed my hands.
“I’m sorry for getting there too late,” I muttered.
“No… He just licked my lips and cheeks, that’s all,”
An insatiable rage kindred within me, but I quickly suppressed it as I had already killed the ȧssailants… but what I couldn’t help but think is, ‘What if I didn’t get there in time.’
A chill was sent down my spine as I thought those words.
Seeing Sophia’s defiled body… limp on the ground… I would completely break.
I wouldn’t have just stopped with those guys, but everybody else in this fuċkėd up city.
“I want a kiss,” Sophia mutters and so I follow her request and give her a peck on the lips.
“Thanks,” She muttered before smiling warmly as she felt the warmth of my embrace.
