The Rise Of Quetzalcoatl - Chapter 149
I was still a bit shocked by what had just happened… As I literally just died right then and there.
“D-did you girls die as well?” I ask, and Celestine and Clio’s face paled.
“Y-you saw the illusion?”
“That was an illusion!?”
“Y-yeah… Did the walls close in from both sides?”
My face paled upon hearing her words.
“Yes,”
“*sigh*… So were you able to converse with him? Anubis?”
“Oh… that was him?”
“Lucy, you failed his test,” Celestine interrupts our conversation.
“Can I retake it?”
“Nope… but, that doesn’t matter because we’re going to take it,” Clio says with a cheeky smile which cheered me up a bit.
We turned around, and I saw the beautiful scenery surrounding us… it was like paradise.
A pretty large pond was before us, and surrounding it was a small hill that had trees atop it.
I also glanced up at the sky but noticed we were inside the pyramid as the walls and ceiling took its shape.
“Nuala, you extract the water first,” Clio says, so Nuala jogs up to the pond, touches the water once, and then flicks her finger up, causing all the water to float in the air.
She then clenched her hand, causing the water to evaporate into thin air.
“Good, now let’s all dig!” Clio shouts with excitement before taking a few pickaxes and shovels out of her inventory and throwing them to us.
I decided to sit out for a bit as I was a bit shaken by the previous events.
I have come close to death multiple times… but I’ve never actually died before… It’s scary… So scary…
“Are you okay?” Mia asks as she sits next to me and rubs the back of my head.
“Kinda…”
“Must’ve been scary, huh?”
“Yep,”
“It’s okay… I’m right here now. And if you think you really are dead, then at least I’m still here with you, right? Plus, everybody else is here,” She says, but her words made me feel a bit worse than better.
“Mhm…”
I glanced up at my status to see if anything changed… and to my surprise, something did.

It was a small yet major change as my original fire had reverted to its normal form.
It was no longer a variant with snow, death, black lava… or any of that. It was just its standard form.
FWOOSH
A green flame was molded into my hand, and it felt a bit nostalgic as I could feel it slowly rise up my throat.
“*cough* *cough* *cough*… Ugh, I still can’t get used to that feeling,” I muttered as I spat out all the flames onto the ground and extinguished them with my ice.
“What the hell was that?” Mia asks, grimacing in disgust.
“My original flame,”
“Oh, so everything else was a variant?”
“You have some variants?”
“Yeah, definitely. Want to see some of them?” She asks but I didn’t even get to respond as a mirror appeared in her hand and all of a sudden, it felt as if I was falling into the abyss.
BAM
And once I stopped falling, I noticed I was back, right beside Mia, who smiled gleefully.
“Woah… I didn’t even get a chance to react,”
“Yep, that’s the darkness attribute which was added to my [Mirror of Illusions] skill. I actually just recently got it last month,”
“Have I seen the original skill?”
She gave me a smug look before the mirror turned into a screen of wavy pink illusions.
“Holy shit… That’s insane,” I muttered while poking the wavy illusion.
“I know, right. Only people much stronger than me can identify if they are within my illusions or not,”
Her smug grin continued as we watched the rest of Tolf dig up the pond.
Oh, I should also do this…
[Would you like to sacrifice stored souls?]
Yes…
[You have sacrificed a total of 1948 small souls]
[Your reward is being calculated…]
“Can you store and sacrifice souls?” I asked Mia to try and see if she also obtained a sacrifice skill similar to mine.
I mean, we all gained flames just like my Quetzalcoatl flame, so that means there is a chance that they also obtained similar skills.
“Mmmmm… No, I don’t think so,” She says as she scrolls through her status.
“Well, it’s alright. You have insanely strong skills, so, to be honest, it doesn’t really matter,” I shrug it off before looking at my reward.
[Your reward has been calculated]
[Would you like one big reward or multiple smaller rewards?]
One big reward…
[One Big reward has been granted]
[You have received the Item: Frostbite]
“Huh?” I muttered, and my jaw had practically dropped to the floor.
Frostbite is back? Why is it back? Didn’t I sacrifice it?
“What’s wrong?” Mia asks.
“N-Nothing…” I mutter before looking at my inventory.
It had the same icon as before with no changes in sight.
Also… This says item… Wasn’t Frostbite a weapon?
As I slowly reached into my inventory to pull out the massive ice-like sword, the pyramid suddenly rumbled, and my hair went up in green flames again.
But, it wasn’t just me this time, as all the other girls beside Clio and Celestine’s hair had also gone up in their respectable colored flames.
“Mortals… How dare you awaken me from my slumber,” A familiar deep voice booms through the open area.
All of a sudden, the head of a massive black dog appeared in front of us, and it was littered with jewelry.
But, it wasn’t a physical head as it took a more ethereal form.
“So cringe… Do you have to say mortal? Are you an edge lord or somthin’?” Electra says and we all couldn’t help but snicker.
