The Ruler Of Gilead - Chapter 25 The Mood Stones
A stunned Hittan looked at her smilingly and said, “I only have eyes for you both and no one else.” As he said this he squeezed both their palms and hoped that they felt his sincerity. However, all three ladies heard his comment and while 2 were happy for his feelings one was annoyed!
“Hmph!” Raising her head high she brushed past the trio and walked towards the necklaces that were on display.
Soon the rest of the group would enter the shop and not wanting to disturb the trio. They decided to check out the armoury on the second floor.
“Girls, I would like to buy you a gift. It would mean the world to me if you both accepted it as a simple gesture of our friendship.” Hittan looked at them hopefully.
As the girls looked at each other in response to Hittan’s request they continued walking and gently released both his hands. Taking their silence as consent Hittan scanned the store in search of a special gem.
On the left were the necklaces displayed on open shelves while the most valuable ones were under glass cases. In the middle were the earrings and on the right, the bracelets were on display. Noticing the clerk on the right Hittan directed the girls to the clerk.
“How may I help you, Good Sir and Madams?”
“Yes, I would like two thermochromic liquid crystal jewellery made of your finest gems.”
“You are in luck Sir, we actually have two necklaces where the liquid crystal is encased in polish Quartz and sealed by a Dao Elemental Lord ranked Gem Carver.”
“Great! I’ll take the two necklaces, how much?”
“Sir, don’t you wish to look at the items first?”
“No need, the reputation of this store is on the line with each item sold and I know your manager values his reputation.”
“Sir, you are familiar with my lord Bela?”
“Distantly, but that is all.”
“Okay, that will be 30 thousand Corundum coins.”
“Not a problem, here.”
‘Yep, also still has expensive as I remember. Corundum coins maybe common but are hardly given away due to their hardness value in armour. Where it is said to be as hard as dragon scales.’
“That settles the bill so I’ll fetch the two necklaces, Sir!”
“Hittan, why have you paid so much for two necklaces without even looking at them? Also, what is so special about thermochromic jewellery in the first place?”
Hittan only smiled at Kaija question before a shout was heard at the other end of the showroom floor!
“No! I demand to be given this necklace!”
“I’m so sorry, Madam. But the young gentleman there has already paid for the last two.”
“Who?!”
As the green haired girl turned her head she was met with the indifferent faces of the trio.
“Them?”
“Yes, madam. If you are familiar with the young Sir you could convince him to reconsider the purchase. But as you know, all sales are final at the Bela Fine Arts Collection.”
“Humph!”
It was then that Hittan and the Princesses came over to the attending clerk. The trio’s first action was to check on the actual necklace and see what was so expensive.
The necklaces were exquisite but simple with a slender silver chain 8 inches long when latched. It was anchored by an inch long spiral shape pendant. The pendant was accentuated with diamonds that led to quartz in the centre of the spiral.
“Wow! Aren’t they beautiful sister?”
“Yes, they are.”
“The stone in the middle, is it really quartz? Why is it so colourful?”
“Good question Madam. The stone is indeed quartz, however, it has the Thermochromic crystals in it and some believe it tells the mood of the wearer.”
Both girls instantly eyed Hittan meanwhile the green haired girl became increasingly agitated for being outrightly ignored by the trio. Before the girls could question Hittan of his motives a stomping sound drew their attention back in front.
“What is the meaning of this! You people are deliberately ignoring me when you know full well you robbed me of my necklace!”
“Sorry, are you talking to us? I think you’re mistaking us for your friends. But we don’t know you and if you don’t mind these were already gifted to us by our husb good friend.”
Both Kaija and Hittan caught the stumble in Kaia’s retort and shock was on both parties faces! Hittan was thanking the gods for the green haired girl’s arrival and suddenly viewed her a bit more positively. While Kaija was feeling a little anxious and bashful at Kaia’s slip of the tongue.
As for Kaia, she was further irritated with the girl for almost causing her to mess up and indirectly giving Hittan a bigger head! It was then that the clerk handed over the necklaces to the girls and immediately the pendant changed colour!
The smile on Hittan’s face grew even wider as he saw the colours and listened to the clerk state the potential meaning of the colours. Kaija’s stone colour was pink while Kaia’s became red!
“The Young master is in luck! They say that Red means the heart rate is elevated and can be a sign of romantic passion or intense anger. While Pink means a little uncertainty it is the beginning stages of arousal and interest! Since the young Madam here is not too upset, it clearly means you’ve won half the battle!”
Hearing the clerk speak both girls’ necklaces became red then black! So he quickly shut his mouth and watched as both girls stormed off to the second floor!
“Young Madam, I do not know who you are, but I will thank you for accidentally giving me such a lovely present! But I must say that your attitude stinks and makes you look ugly.”
“Wha..”
“And Clerk here is your tip for an excellent job as a sales representative! I shall frequent you for any potential sale I have an interest in while I’m here!”
“Thank you, Sir! Here is the list of meanings for each colour on the pendant.”
“No need, I already know the meanings. Haha!”
With that Hittan walked off leaving the clerk and green hair girl shocked as they watched him chase after the two girls.
…
After some time the group would leave the store and back to the Academy. Hittan had to plead for them to wear the necklace and they only agreed on the condition that he told them the meaning of each potential colour. So with that their liberty weekend pretty much wrapped up and it was time to return to the Academy to prepare for training!
