The Ruler Of Gilead - Chapter 28 New Legacy Inheritors
Finally, the team was able to leave as Hittan made his way out to the courtyard.
“You must have been exhausted from the battle, Boss?” Falkner looked at him curiously as he asked something the group was thinking.
“Truthfully, I’m just as shocked as you all, sleeping in for a whole day. But I’m more refreshed than I’ve ever been! Haha!” Once he thought of the dreams he couldn’t help but feel refreshed and happy!
The group would soon meet up with the rest of the class and as Hittan scanned the students, doing a mental student attendance check. He found two faces hiding from his vision and three unexpected visitors with one being Headmaster Fahim. Headmaster Fahim stood with the Emerald haired girl and next to them was a Garnet coloured hair boy around the same age as his group.
Obviously Hittan had a few questions for these 5 people. But first, he greeted his class then went over to Headmaster Fahim.
“Greetings Headmaster. I see that we have two more added to the group?”
“That’s right Hittan. This Emerald hair Princess to my left is from the Emerald Clan, Lagina. While to my right is the new young master of the Garnet Clan and true inheritors of the Basilisk legacy, Cale. Step closer boy, Hittan won’t attack you.”
“A relative of the Aapo family I see and I assume that Ms Lagina is of the Xuanwu legacy?”
“Yes, they are as you’ve said. However, Cale is from a lower household of the family and bears no ill will towards the Academy for his distant uncle’s passing.”
“Oh.”
“So you are Hittan, the famous student teacher at Sky Element Academy.”
“Yes, indeed that is me, Ms Lagina. I hope you took my advice the other day to heart.”
“…”
“Oh, you know each other?”
“Not really Headmaster, just in passing.”
“Okay, I will leave them in your hands. But keep in mind our departure time draws near.”
“Understood Headmaster.”
As Headmaster Fahim took his leave he reassured the two new students that they were in capable hands. Hittan also took the time to formally welcome them to the class before going to greet the Princesses.
“Sorry Ladies, I can’t believe I slept the whole day and neglected you again. I was stuck reliving moments of my past life in a dream.” Hittan began blushing the moment he thought about it and so did the girls!
Noticing both their rosy cheeks and pendant turning red Hittan began suspecting if they were somehow aware.
“Ladies, if you don’t mind my asking, but were you both sleeping all day as well?”
“… Yes. We were asleep” Kaija hesitantly replied.
“We somehow felt very tired and before we knew it. It was time for the training session.” Kaia added.
“Did you both you know see me, in your dreams? No, forget it. That would be crazy.” Hittan tried to dismiss the thought.
“What… if we did? Does… husband not like us, knowing how much he loves us?” Kaia struggled to get her words out as she spoke while looking at the ground.
Hittan was taken aback for a second. Because he knew the way she said “husband,” she meant it.
“We, know you suffered because of us. We abandoned you. But you never gave up on finding us saving us.” Kaija peeped at Hittan even though her head was also down when she spoke.
Hittan just realised that Kaija really did have a more confident and aggressive personality. Despite Kaia being more outspoken. But he wondered how much would they be affected by seeing their future actions in the present? Would it affect their actions and personality going forward?
Kaija looked at Kaia for a moment before approaching Hittan closely and whispered, “we promise, this time it is different too. We won’t make the same mistakes again and leave you.” Matching her sister’s actions Kaia stepped forward and added, “we will wait for the day that you have the power to take us with you. I wouldn’t mind living in the forest”
Thankfully, the class seemed to have grown accustomed to Hittan and the girls being alone and had backed away to give them some space. Something that further annoyed Lagina, but she kept her mouth shut this time and waited patiently for them to finish their conversation.
“Husband”
“Husband”
“My wives, it seems our fates are truly tied and unavoidable. Ladies, I love you both.”
“We can’t escape loving you.” Kaija blushed in her response as she stared at him.
“Hehe, remember, this life or any other we are still your wives.” Finally, Kaia summoned the courage to look Hittan in the eyes as she spoke.
“I know, and I would have it no other way.”
As Hittan went back to the class the girls followed and stood with team New Hope.
“Class, this week’s training will be different, more intense! I give you all that warning ahead of time.
Ultimately, Mortal Ascension is about restructuring your body. That requires one to destroy themselves. Then allow the heat to remould you into something stronger. Once you have destroyed your old structure then your Mineral Core will be free to push you to the next level. However, something like this requires a controlled environment. I know that this may seem like a radical idea to most so those unwilling and below the tier 1 Diamond Rank will be exempted from this training. If you are unwilling, then simply sit and meditate at your threshold limit and progress the normal safe way.
Okay, let’s go!”
WHOOSH!
The class was once again greeted by a world of rippling white and sparks of fire from the air friction.
1200C – “Rank: Corundum. Temperature range: 1201 – 1350C.” The familiar voice of the Trial Guardian was heard as they were placed at the most appropriate Rank stage.
“For those that are below the Diamond Rank start your meditation here and slowly move as you adapt to the temperature. We will return in 5 days.” As Hittan addressed the class it was obvious to him that only his wives and team members would be going forward. The only additional people were the new members Cale and Lagina.
“The rest of us will descend further!” With that Hittan led the rest of the group below.
1250C
1350C – “Rank: Diamond. Temperature range: 1351 – 2500C.” The voice of the Trial Guardian was head once more. Mark of the Alicorn group stopped here on the verge of stepping into the Diamond Ranks. The Group advised him of the same and continued.
1450C
1550C
1700C
1800C
1900C
2100C
2200C
2300C – “Stop! Cale and Lagina, you two are legacy inheritors already at tier 1 Diamond rank. We plan on going to the 2600C mark and start the group training there. Will there be any issues for either of you?”
“No, that will be fine. But if I can’t manage it I’ll certainly speak up!” Lagina answered with a bit of an irritated tone.
“I’m good to go, Instructor.” Cale gave a short response and gestured with his hand that it would be fine.
2400C
2500C – “Rank: Elemental (Dao Elemental). Temperature range: 2501 – 4000C.”
2600C – “Alright we’ve arrived. So let’s get right into it, who wants to be the first to participate in my training regiment?”
Immediately Kaia and Kaija stepped forward without hesitation along with Edan and the rest of team New Hope. Seeing the response, Hittan was more than pleased that he had the trust of his team and his wives.
“Good, we will start with Kaia and Kaija. Now, ladies, I am going to use my fist technique Phoenix Fist to shatter your internal mineral bodies along certain joints. After which you will meditate and allow your Mineral Core to rebuild your bodies at a rate multiple times faster. But, it will involve some deal of pain, so are you still willing?”
“Would you ever bring real harm to us, your wives?”
“Never.”
“Then let’s begin.”
The girls stood beside each other while facing Hittan a few steps away from the rest of the group.
“Ladies, try to follow my movement and learn these strikes and locations.”
TAP, TAP, TAP, TAP TAP.
Trying to avoid putting his wives through an extended time of prolonged pain Hittan picked up speed with the Flicker Step and Phoenix dance! The group watched has his body blurred with the white light and became ghostly! Every strike was with the utmost care and precision. The pain level would rise above numbing but was still manageable and each strike would only destroy the internal structure of their mineral.
Once he finished, their bodies became red and rapidly started absorbing heat energy into the lattice of their mineral. The theory was simple, increase the surface area of the minerals in their bodies and the body would absorb much faster and easier to be remoulded by their Mineral Core.
…
Soon all but one was left to take part in the training session. As Hittan stood before Lagina she seemed to have something to say so he gave her the chance to clear the air and speak.
“If I were to tell you that you were the first to have ever spoken to me like that. Would you believe me?”
“Mmh, possibly. Most wouldn’t go around insulting others while thanking them, I guess.”
“No, not that, you dared to insult me to my face. The young Madam of the Emerald Clan and the brightest talent, seen in a thousand years.”
“Oh yes? You brag a bit too much, has no one told you that too?”
“… I was only quoting what others have said.”
“Okay.”
“Oh yes, I wanted to ask, are you related to the Army General serving the Alicorn Empire?”
“My Father?”
“… I see. Do you know the Princesses?”
“No, not personally but I have heard of them. I have not been to the capital since my father sent me and my mother to this province soon after my birth.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, was your mother and yourself banished?”
“Why would you ask that?”
“The Princesses, to the left of me truly don’t seem to know you nor you, them. It would be strange for the talented children of a General not to be introduced to the royal family. Right?”
“Yes, I would agree. But we weren’t banished, technically.” Mumbling the last part but still audible enough for Hittan to make it out.
“A child of a concubine or secondary wife?”
“My Mother is no Concubine!”
“I’m sorry, I meant no harm. I see that this topic is not one you wish to continue, but I thank you for clarifying a few things.”
“At least you know how to admit mistakes and apologise. Please do not bring up such vulgar conversations again.”
“… I promise. If you’re willing we will continue the training session?”
“Of course I’m willing, If they trust so much, why should I hesitate?”
“… Okay, let’s start.”
“But be as gentle, as you were with them.” Pointing to Kaia and Kaija, Lagina made special note to stress the word gentle.
“… Okay.”
‘Is she trying to get me in trouble for what I said before?’
“Kaija, is our husband flirting with that girl after we’ve just acknowledged him as our husband?”
“I think he’s just as much surprised at her actions as us. Don’t you trust him?”
“He was daring enough to pursue us both, wasn’t he??”
“… Well, that was different. I think.”
