The Ruler Of Gilead - Chapter 31 Going Home
“Mother!”
“Mother!”
The girls lost their usual self-composure and mystique and ran towards the beautiful lady that stood next to Headmaster Fahim and Elder Ragna. However, to the surprise of all who paid attention, the now catatonic Hittan stood dead still. Eyes wide, mouth open and brain in a loop!
‘Mother Mother? Mother??’
It was not that someone of similar appearance to the twins could not be their mother. A relative to the girls was a natural assumption. However, his mother-in-law clearly saw his dream as well! The things they did… How would anyone react to such a revelation?
But such an expression of shock could hardly go unseen by the now budding powerhouses that surrounded Hittan.
“Brother, Brother, are you okay?” Edan stopped to look at him in wonder.
“Boss?” Squinting his eyes to follow where Hittan was looking Falkner tried to connect the dots. He had also taken up the habit of calling Hittan boss as he thought Hittan had too many titles to follow his name.
“Sahar, What’s wrong with Hittan? Ona stood in relative shock at Hittan’s exaggerated response to god he knows what!
“Ona, he’s looking directly at her. The lady that has not stopped looking at him from the moment we stepped out of the portal.” Gesturing with her eyes Sahar informed the rest of the team.
“Mother, what’s wrong?” Kaija looked at her mother curiously.
“Yes, mother. Are you okay? Kaia mirrored her sister until she looked back and spotted Hittan.
Seeing the direction of her gaze. The girls quickly came to an unnecessary conclusion.
“This is Hittan, mother. Please don’t mind his manners!”
“Yes, mother. Let us introduce you.”
“No need. We are already familiar.”
Not sure of what was really happening Elder Fahim had called Lagina over to his side. Not too long after, Hittan came to his senses and started approaching the group. Thankfully his class with the exception of his team had assumed that they had business with each other and left the training ground. Now leaving the two groups of people on opposing sides of the training field.
“Lagina, Kaija and Kaia, all three of you wait. Even Cale and the rest of team New Hope have achieved Tier 3 Diamond Rank now. Very impressive.”
“Yes, headmaster. It was Hittan’s personal guidance that made it all possible for us to advance so quickly, within such a short period of time.” Lagina gave Hittan a gentle smile. Sadly Hittan walked straight towards Lady Samara with a straight head and missed it. However, Lady Samara did not.
“Mother?” A question was suggested by the tone of his first word to their mother.
“Hittan! What are you asking, of course, she is our mother.” Kaia pouted in protest.
“We meet face to face son-in-law.”
Bowing immediately! Hittan quickly responded with a smile.
“Yes, mother-in-law.”
The blushing girls were red all the way to the tips of their ears!
“Mother! What are you saying we never said anything like tha”
“Don’t bother to hide it. Your face and pendants are glowing red. Clearly, you already decided and he has no intention of letting either of you go.”
‘Based on her statement about the pendants either she’s watching the girls or she knows more about the future.’ This thought immediately popped into Hittan’s head and he surely had questions already.
“But what about Father? What if he disagrees?” Kaija dropped her head with her question.
“Well, he’s asked for you both to return. To complete your inheritance and your engagement ceremony to the Generals’ sons.”
Bang!
Everyone felt as though they were in an inferno! As it seemed a 4th sun had descended upon them!
“Ragna, I think you misspoke. Hittan here has a prime window of time to show his Father-in-Law the error of his ways. I’m sure he’ll be in the Capital City of the central continent in no less than a month. When he can congratulate his wives for their achievements. Correct?”
“I promise my very utmost effort to be a day earlier.”
“Good, I see you’ve all met your third companion. Things are moving along quite well and as a reward here is a gift on our first meeting.” She passed out 4 Labradorite crystal bracelets. One for Hittan, the girls and Lagina.
It was now that the trio looked at Lagina with more interest.
“Take care of these bracelets, they will help you stay connected. The people of our Moon Clan believe it has the power to help one see the past and future.”
It was now Lagina’s turn to be surprised at the bashful reaction of the twins and avoidance evident in Hittan’s face.
“Any questions you may have will be answered in a month. Okay, girls, it’s time to leave, temporarily though. So say your goodbyes.”
With that Lady Samara, Headmaster Fahim and Elder Ragna took their leave to give the trio some privacy. Lagina gave Hittan a meaningful look before leaving with Headmaster Fahim.
Though conflicted about the separation Hittan knew that it was a necessary one to ensure that they would never part again. Seeing the uneasiness in his eyes Kaija took the initiative to approach him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“You said things were different this time and I believe that. Because I believe you. One day before a month is up I expect to see you.”
Not to be outdone, Kaia stepped forward and kissed Hittan softly on the cheek before she stated, “we believe you.”
“Lagina, your mother has been advised of your progress. It seems you will be going back home to complete the Xuanwu inheritance.”
“Thank you, Headmaster.”
“Your mother is sending someone for you and should be standing by the portal in a few minutes. Do you need me to escort you to the portal?”
“No Headmaster, I’ll be fine.”
“Okay, give my regards to your mother.”
“Yes, Headmaster.”
‘… Mother and I have been sent here for so long. All because my father’s first wife was afraid. Afraid I would upstage her youngest daughter and ruin her chances at the Prime legacy inheritance if the Elder’s saw my talent. But thanks to her fears, she sent us to the place where my talents were immediately seen and as a result, I’ll be given the Prime Legacy and be the key to an alliance between our Clan and the Dragon and Phoenix Village!
But, that Hittan isn’t what I’d expect. He’s not a spoiled little lord or arrogant child without the skill to back it up. He’s a little interesting, clearly trusted and dependable, as seen with his friends. I feel a slight pull to him whenever we’re close, so strange. Could that explain why I went into the gift shop and eavesdropped on his conversation?
Mmh, my husband? I hope we can get along. What should I do for him to see my good side? One month, in a month I’ll see him again and officially be introduced!’
“Greetings Elder Fahim!” As team New Hope boarded the crystal Phoenix they gave the appropriate greetings to their Village Elder.
“Young Challengers, I am very impressed with you all in the work you have done these last few weeks. To have moved from Topaz to tier 3 Diamond Rank in so short a time has only ever been bettered by your leader, achieving Tier 4 Elemental. This team is clearly motivated and will be a force to be reckoned with.
It is also because of that very same reason why the Village has decided to grant the inheritances to you ahead of time. Things certainly are moving faster than expected. We must also prepare for a coronation.
“What!?”

“Kaija, that two-timing bastard! He thinks that he’s the Sun and wants us to revolve around him like the Earth and Moons!”
“Haha, stop it, Kaia. You’re too jealous.”
“And you’re not?!”
“…”
