The Runaway Bride’s Love Story - Chapter 427
Nuzzling into the crook of Su Yin’s swan-like neck, the man drew a deep breath, taking in the unique scent that always drove him crazy.
Pulling back reluctantly, Adrian stared deep into Su Yin’s obsidian-dark eyes while he pinched her small chin making her frown. He chuckled mirthfully when she swatted his hand away in annoyance.
“Yinyin.. Let’s not think about the past and start afresh! This one month, I have been the happiest..”
Caressing her cheek, Adrian softly blew on Su Yin’s fair skin making it turn an alluring pink. She closed her eyes, a radiant smile adorning her flawless face.
“I want us to continue living this way.. Till my last breath! I Love you Yinyin..”
Hugging her closer, Adrian mumbled in a daze, as though wanting to lump their lithe bodies together.
In the dimly lit space, Su Yin leaned against the chair with large tears trickling down her pale cheeks as she reminisced Adrian’s nectarine sweet words.
“Yes! Yes, I shouldn’t dwell onto the past anymore.. Not now, when I have a new life to protect!”
Wiping her face clumsily, Su Yin nodded her head while her hands reached to cradle her tummy, mumbling to herself.
“I shouldn’t.. I shouldn’t waver like this! Ad, Ad will never leave me! He loves me.. He loves me.. His Yinyin..”
*knock* *knock*
While Su Yin was lost in her thoughts, low sound of rapping on the glass door broke her reverie.
Scared witless, Su Yin whipped her head to see that a familiar figure was glaring at her in the darkness. Her heart jumped at the eye-contact, and her hands automatically slipped downwards.
A crisip but amused voice echoed in the space. The sound of heavy footsteps rose as the man closed the distance between them.
“What are you doing here? It’s late.. All the employees have already left..!”
Turning her head away from the intruder, Su Yin hastily wiped her face clean with a tissue before pushing her feet up to stand. Her voice hoarse from crying.
“I.. I was looking for some documents..”
The intruder was none other than Shawn Qin!
Trying to flick the lights on, Shawn Qin said in a gentle manner minus the usual frivolity displayed.
“I’ll help you..”
Shouting out abruptly, Su Yin shook her head hard to stop Shawn Qin from turning the lights on. Her straight brows knitting together as she grabbed her bag from the desk.
“No..! I mean.. They’re not here”
Laughing lightly, Shawn Qin walked up to Su Yin, his gaze locked onto her flustered self. A faint glimmer in his hazel colored orbs.
“Then, let’s leave.. The security guard told me that you’re still inside so I came to see if you’re alright..”
Smiling wryly, Su Yin strode past the doors with a shake of her head. Her steps hurried and awkward.
“Yeah, sorry to trouble you..”
Squinting at Su Yin’s receding figure akin to a deer escaping the tiger’s den, Shawn Qin’s full lips curled into a smirk.

The evening sky was disquieting, dark and starless with a few gray clouds passing by, here and there.
An enormous crowd gathered at the great underground hall of a very renowned and tall building, bedazzling. Blinding lights, exquisitely crafted golden chandeliers hung from the glass ceiling and a fountain structured in the middle of the room was filled with champagne akin to liquid gold instead of water. All sorts of delicacies were being served in the luxurious party.
Attired in a brooding black coat over a dark gray suit, the tall silhouetted man strode through the majestic golden glass doors. His squeaky clean, and shiny black Italian leather shoes thumping on the floor made everyone hold their breath. As though he was climbing on their hearts. The pressure vast.
The crowd immediately quieted down with his powerful presence.
Behind the dashing figure in black was a suave looking man in a contrasting white suit, tailor-made to adorn his slightly burly body. His sparkling blue irises were sharp as he cast them on their lowly face, their mouths hung open in awe.
“Lucifer! My boy..”
A gruff sounding voice intercepted Lucifer and Adrian in their tracks, they turned to see a middle-aged man smiling faintly at them.
“Uncle Bert.. Long time no see!”
Striding forward, Lucifer appeared in front of the smartly dressed man with a smoking pipe in his mouth. His gaze shrewd. His attire suiting his personality to the T.
“Uncle Bert..”
With a smile, Adrian respectfully greeted in his throaty voice.
“Oh! Adrian, You look.. Awful, what’s up?”
Narrowing his gaze to study Adrian’s stiff smile, Alberto Chung tried to find the right word to describe the man.
“Heh! Work..”
Chuckling awkwardly, Adrian blurted out an excuse, averting his gaze to Lucifer beside him who was smirking like the devil he was.
After speaking, Adrian picked two glasses of wine glasses from the server’s tray. He handed one to Lucifer and took a leisurely sip from the other glass.
“Haha.. Don’t bully him, Lucifer!”
Guffawing at the duo’s playful interaction, Alberto Chung shook his head as he said. The man’s words directed at his nephew, Lucifer.
Alberto Chung, the illegitimate son of Elder Chung and Alex Chung’s half-brother is the head of European Mafia. He’s retained his position for more than a decade. Alberto Chung was very young when he ran away from home. Years later, he came back with the identity of the European Mafia’s King shocking Alex Chung, and others. Since then, Alberto has been helping Alex Chung and Lucifer to establish a steady foothold in the European Market and underworld.
“Young Master, Mr Adrian.. It’s nice to see you again!”
A slightly older man around sixty with a bit of gray hair approached the trio, holding two glasses of half-filled whiskey. With a fond smile on his face, he passed one of glass to Alberto Chung. He was dressed in a dark blue suit. His fair complexion was glistening against the contrasting hue. The man was Donal Wen, Alberto Chung’s right hand man since the beginning of time.
Behind Donal Wen stood another man with an incredible presence that could blend easily while still standing out thanks to his detached attitude.
Slightly younger than Donal Wen, he looked difficult to approach unlike Donal Wen and Alberto Chung who constantly had warm smiles despite the sharpness in their hawk-eyes. He had a healthy tanned skin, his amber eyes like liquid honey were shining with a chilling glint in them. The eccentric man was none other than Alberto Chung’s trusted aide, Ronald Isaac.
“Uncle Don! Mr Ron you’re here too?”
At Donal Wen’s words, Adrian greeted the two men with completely polar opposite personalities.
Ronald Isaac acknowledged Adrian with a curt nod, his gaze fixated on the languidly smiling Lucifer who was nonchalant about their interactions. He was twirling the wine glass in his hand, lazily.
“Ah! Yes, I brought them back with me. Don was missing you guys and Ron had some important work to do..”
It was Alberto Chung who spoke up first. He cast a meaningful glance at Lucifer as he said in his gruff voice.
