The Runaway Bride’s Love Story - Chapter 464
The moment Sera heard Su Yin’s raspy murmurs, her jaw slacked open in sheer disbelief. Her eyes as wide as globes.
The girl’s slender fingers wiping the stream of tears cascading down the latter’s cheeks froze in midair.
“Baby?! You mean brother Adrian and you.. Your baby?!”
Putting some distance between both of them, Sera slowly and cautiously lifted Su Yin’s damp chin to meet her gaze.
“Hmm.. I’m I’m so sad.. I don’t know what to do, what to say.. I can’t cry.. Not in front of him.. Ad, he’s distraught and I know..”
Biting her lips until they bruised a deep red, Su Yin nodded like a broken bobbing doll before crying harder. Her trembling hands held Sera’s shoulders as she wept, pouring her heart out to her bestfriend.
On the other side, Lu Jinan stood rooted to the ground. His back covered in cold sweat as his brain processed whatever was happening, and whatever Su Yin said.
“Sera.. You know, I.. I didn’t even tell him about the baby.. It.. It was supposed to be a surprise after Adrian comes back from his business trip but I.. I lost.. Our baby!”
Hugging the spiritless figure of Su Yin tight in her arms, Sera gently patted her shivering back as though lulling a baby to sleep. Her own heart in shambles.
“Sshh.. Don’t cry, don’t cry.. Do you want brother Ad to see you like this?!”
The frozen Lu Jinan blinked himself out of his stupor as Sera’s voice reached him. He forced a small, wry smile and sat on the edge of the bed. He wiped the remnants dripping down Su Yin’s damp jaw like a true elder brother.
“Hey! Stop being a cry baby.. I know it’s not my thing to comment on any of this.. But you’re my friend and I know you the best! Yinyin, you are very strong.. And we believe in you!”
The resplendent light akin to a galaxy swimming in Lu Jinan’s dark pupils strangely encouraging Su Yin. She blinked hard to stop her tears from falling.
“..For now, I think you should take care of your man.. I bet he’s hurting bad too!”
Outside the door, Adrian who was about to step inside the hospital room was akin to a ice block. His pupils shrank.
Clenching his fists in a death grip around the phone in his hand, the man listened to Su Yin’s cries, as well as Sera and Lu Jinan’s words of comfort.
‘Our baby’
‘I’m so sad..’
‘I can’t cry..’
‘A surprise for Ad..’
‘He’s distraught!’
‘You’re strong.. We believe in you!’
Unclenching his fist, Adrian chucked away the phone in his pocket. He extended his hand to knock on the door.
*knock*
Startled, the trio turned to glance at the man standing outside.
At lightning speed, Su Yin wiped her tear stricken face with her hands and forced a smile, trying to look as natural as possible. Her heart though, it was hurting awfully.
“Yinyin.. I have something urgent to attend to. I’ll see you later!”
Purposely avoiding Su Yin’s gaze that slit right through his heart like a sharpened sword, Adrian mumbled. He swiftly picked up his wallet, watch and other things from the table faraway from the bed.
“Hmm, okay.. Call me if you aren’t going to come back for dinner! I’ll let Sera keep me company..”
Keenly staring at the man’s broad back facing her, Su Yin Yin hummed softly. She deliberately raised her voice a notch to imitate a cheery tone but failed.
Frowning, Sera shook her head at Su Yin and smiled encouragingly.
“Thank you!”
Squeezing Sera and Lu Jinan’s hand in hers, Su Yin mouthed with a watery gaze.

At the underworld organization.
Kneeling on the dirt covered ground littered with his own blood was the pathetically sorry figure of Liu Chenmin.
The man’s initially pristine white suit was bathed in red. His otherwise arrogant face beaten to pulp as rivulets of bloo ran down the cracks of his mouth. Even his forehead was bruised badly.
The menacing aura he usually portrayed nowhere to be found.
With reddened eyes, Liu Chenmin gazed at the devil incarnate casting a long shadow over him. A hint of resentment can be seen in his eyes that were blurred with his tears. His battered body shook like a dried leaf on a cold winter’s night as his heartbeat accelerated.
The men surrounding Liu Chenmin wer his own partners, friends and subordinates but the intense look of hatred and contempt on their faces chilled his heart.
With a hint of smile in his gray irises that were as bewitching as the moon, Lucifer looked down at the kneeling Liu Chenmin.
Leaning against his majestic black throne erected on the elevated platform, the man appeared indolent yet overbearing. An the devilish smile dancing about his kissable lips sent shivers down one’s spine.
“You know the rules Old Liu..”
After a long while, the familiar magnetic voice resounded causing Liu Chenmin to break out into cold sweat.
“Hmph! Lucifer, you’re a bastard. You..”
Unwilling to yield, Liu Chenmin obstinately met Lucifer’s gaze, his hoarse voice loud and furious.
Shaking his head, unamused, Lucifer lips curled into a cold smile.
“Heh! You never learn..”
Before Lucifer could finish, Adrian came forward and pummeled the kneeling Liu Chenmin’s back with brute force. The hit made the latter pitifully cough a mouthful of blood.
*clack* *clack*
As Liu Chenmin raised his head, the sound of heels clacking against the cold concrete platform amplified. His head swirled, while his vision turned blurry.
Attired in a stylish yet sophisticated suit in a charming red color, the newcomer cast an indifferent glance at Liu Chenmin. There was a hint of disgust even.
“Zh.. Zhang.. Lili!”
Supporting his limp body, Liu Chenmin was aghast as he stared unblinkingly at the girl in front of him.
“Hi daddy..”
Grinning sweetly, Zhang Lili tucked the hair falling on her face behind her ear. Her gaze however was ice cold.
“You..!”
Taken aback, Liu Chenmin stuttered like a broken record.
Just as Liu Chenmin calmed down, he saw another familiar face that pushed him into a state of frenzy.
In a classic black suit, Mr Bai ambled to Zhang Lili’s side before standing beside her like a knight. His gaze conceited and sharp under the gold rimmed spectacles.
“Mr Liu..!”
