The Sapphire Prince - Chapter 16
“State rotation?” I whispered.
“We just simply have the paper state that the soldiers will shift their areas monthly to keep military consistency. Of course, if we could throw in some extra money for their agreement, then I’m sure that the soldiers would happily oblige.” She explained.
“We could move that suggestion at hand but if there’s anyone who has another suggestion apart from the military body, please may we hear it.” Sir hugs raised his palm facing the table.
“Wouldn’t that make it too risky. A state rotation is a great proposal, I’ll admit that but the opposing faction would easily consider it another fallacy this we can’t rule out the possibility of delay or short comings.” A courtier stated.
“And you thought this plan could be of perfection? Of course there will be delays, some faults here and there, every campaign has its own flaw. All we need right now is a thorough plan to have the remaining guard numbers back here in the palace.” I crossed my arms raising an eyebrow scanning the man.
“A state rotation would be very dire. The path taken would cause more political conflict. The faction on our side are very very compassionate of the crown but I believe we should inform them about this first and have them agree before actually doing the command.” Sir Hugo held his chin as though reading through his documents.
“Your grace? Should we pass this plan?” He added pointing his quill to him.
“This rotation implies to every kingdom and their faction, we shall ask of this due to the Foreign affairs but in our table. The plan is thorough and could be reformed one way or another. As judgement shows to the best of our favor, this much is a passable strategy.” Father explained.
“Right to it, the imperial military does revolve around the seven kingdoms. It’s an imperial movement of some sorts. We’ll have to inform the representatives of a gathered meeting immediately an-”
“Hugo, this matter is exclusively revolving around the opposing faction. Though this movement is imperial, we shouldn’t other kingdoms take part in it as it may strike another conflict to their own local nobilities.” A courtier stated raising her hand as though shaking. Probably still by the Cryptid’s standing.
I laid my head own and started to think. The cold air of the room swept through my skin roughly. Everyone was confused but their rationality remained in tact. The proposed plan is a bit twisted and narrow, but truly, I think it will somehow pass efficiently.
“Azure, any thoughts?” Father asked leering at me before slowly resting head over on his palm. He was once again casual that I might give a proper answer but I don’t excel in warfare and my bitter experience over political management is average. Books have been read but lessons applied to nothing would remain useless other than tattletale.
“A simple answer. This conflict remains in Rochileu then it stays here, the movement revolves around the kingdoms this it should be shared. Asking for approval isn’t qualified as asking for secondary force. We only lead. Their choice to follow will not be made upon our hands rather than the wit of their own sovereignty.” I replied.
“The guards of each kingdom, when their command was taken over by our country, we have the hands to lead them. My race had conquered and witnessed settlement of this mandate to have all of the seven kingdom’s military forces under Father’s rule…” The Cryptid then gave a proud small smile. Clearly she was in her moment mentioning her Father.
“Therefore, even though the kingdoms have these soldiers, Technically we still govern them and through the emperor’s careful acts and firms, we should be able to have the seven kingdoms support this new movement despite their local nobilities.” She added. Carefully fixing a mushroom on her hair.
The girl then looked to my father and nodded. She was done with her words now it was time for he jury to react. They all have taken notes about her remarks. Some took their time off hypothesizing advancements while some thought of conflicts that might deem the Cryptid’s words paradoxical.
I focused mainly on the advancements. How could we achieveme this with the most minimal of casualties and controversy.
The Seven kingdoms, they’re all very fluent managing their rebellion and most of them have a very orderly systematic political table.
La Gardova for example. La Gardova is the very image of nonchalant and survivability. I’ve read in many books that few, if ever none, actually oppose to the rule of their monarchs. The capital city is built on a mountain range under Elduma, the summit, the very core revolving around the magics behind artificial skies making of La Gardova’s lifespan and unique agriculture.
Elduma is a hollow mountain though it’s walls are equipped with Prime Diamonites. Minerals capable of nullifying properties of magic at a specific range depending on the polarity used in each spectacle of the material, which makes makes it both rare and hard to make. With this, no one ever concerned themselves with dangers of magic.
The Gardovans prefer their own vast caves rather than the prime beneath the crust. Some books also mentioned that the sunlight invoked by Elduma casts special spectrums enabling the citizens to be more rejuvenated in comparison to the average person.
“I hardly believe so…”
Kingdom Milcaster is very strict of their military rule. Of course surrendering to the empire, they gave their supreme command of military to us. The governance of the Milcasters rely heavily on military influence as they’ve tried to reannounce themselves agressively that they are combative and bold.
The kingdom circles Arielwance. A canyon emmanating strong particles of mana. It’s the centerpiece of their kingdom and from the looks of it, it has become the signature of the Milcasters. The silhouette of the canyon being grounds for weapon patterns, architecture and even lockes. They have a strong grasp over their reptitude, Their absolution rarely chimes in the conversation but truly they are loyal to the Whereanean Crown.
“Since the Milcaster royal family has high standards over us. I don’t think such a move would make their Prince impressed. Especially when the military is involved.” Lance added.
“I could doubt them for resistance but if we overstep their regards. I’m afraid they’ll die differently from what we expected.” I thought.
“All of you seem concerned. Even you young Hallvadur. The tension in the atmosphere feels differently in comparison half an hour before. If it tilts you that the seven kingdoms are involved then what use of your wit to conquer such.” Father slid some of his documents to the side and then his palm presented a magic circle.
Towers and mountains made of light risen from the marble table, lights fled all over the us and the table seemed like a simulation of warfare, a map of sorts with a higher degree of superficial quality. It showed the geography of the seven kingdoms. z
“La Gardova the most orderly of the seven kingdoms. Their political table has little to none conflict and they hold a very secure stronghold under the mountain, Elduma…”
“Conquered through endless domination and severe loyalty where a number of Gardovans were fated to die the moment our empire laid a finger on their precious diamonites.” The Picture of La Gardova fell crumbling like crystals before it dispersed slowly..
“Selena is an interesting one. As history shows that our empire has burnt their forests, depletied their agriculture and successfully overturning their military against their monarchs…” He said, halting he fall of Selena.
“Of course the military won and they killed the monarchs of Selena. In return of their actions, the empire’s ancestors decided to execute them for they are no longer of use to the Selenian invasion.” And so the Castle of light resemblinling Selena’s palace fell.
“Miya begged for pity for their agriculture was weak, Milcaster’s royal family sold their kingdom for the monarchs cower in the casualties we could’ve executed. Then to Loswell which we drowned their nation’s citizens in their own seas along with their royal family…” I started to feel wary of father. I looked at the Cryptid who just looked down with blank and slothy eyes. She wasn’t taking this well along with the courtiers who their eyes expressed their concern and weight.
“Crowess, my home country. The Empire took Crowess by selling me to their princess. A former general who became an emperor with a tyrant’s will and the grace of time. How fitting yet unconventional.” He wept withdrawing all of the light figures back to his palm.
“Cryptid’s raised their alliance with Whereana. All of which has committed to these acts of conquer. The Kingdoms subject to us and to be frank, by my hand the royal family of Rochileu along with their nobilities, I could easily sweep their front with a single command…” The wrath of my father’s eyes disappeared after looking at me. His smile draw to a line and it stayed neutral the moment both of us stared at each other.
“I chose peace, the royal family of Rochileu is a well respected bloodline and I wish for the capital of the continent to be flourishing. If it weren’t for my son’s presence, I would’ve proposed the everyone to follow my command standing from a former general’s point of view.” He explained.
Me?
“Young Hallvadur, you do remember do you? Your father told me you were kept long. Midst the war of gold and roses, you were present correct?” Father then locked eyes at the Cryptid. With his voice agressively demanding an answer.
“I was your majesty.” He answered turning her head away angrily murmuring while clenching her fist.
As the silence passed by. Everyone thought Father’s digression is over, the weight lifted or perhaps they waited for a comforting will to speak freely. I sat there looking pale and still like a statue, Wha-
“Azure open the door if you may!” Shouted a woman’s voice as though knocking on the door.
Everyone looked at the door in complete silence. Father nodded at the guards, then the guards opened the door only to find a decoratively late figure.
“I thought you had better worried to attend to. Miranda” Father said.
“I’m here for Azure is all…” Mother then scanned the room. She immediately understood the ambience so she sighed.
“We’ll have this another time. Consider this meeting a small treaty of your Emperor. The Lady of the house, me, wasn’t set in attendance therefore. This meeting isn’t the concern of the imperial court rather than your own.” She said.
“I’m also a figure of the house with formal social standing, This does relay to imperial concern as we’re discussing about the nobilities’ right of command .” Father ġrȯȧnėd standing up to his seat walking towards me.
“I see. I’m. far too tired to argue so please can I just have my son. I have an important thing to tell him…privately.” She explained.
Being tiny compared to my father, He effortlessly flings me over his shoulder. Carrying me like a sack. Lance was surprised along with several other courtiers but the cryptid just giggled.
Father let me down in front of mother. Mother then stroked father’s cheek before smiling to me. Gently, mother pulled my hand and asked for a leave in which father obliged. The guards behind me bowed at us and so our walk pressed on to the hallways leading to my mother’s chambers.
“What did you want to tell me?” I asked looking down.
She topped walking. Her white hair blissed, dancing to the winds passing brought the large open windows. She gave me a very gentle yet sorry almost concerned look with a smile. She fixed her white casual gown then she spoke in a low tone.
“Do you want to get married?”
