He’s been involved in the yakuza world the moment his first cried to be heard to the world. Born in the yakuza family, left him with no choice but one path, the path that her father chose for him; lead the family. When everyone struggled to hold a pencil, he already learned to throw a punch. When everyone played ball with their father, he swung the sword with his. When everyone busies dating and enjoyed their life, he was in the room busy studying everything he can about the family organization and leadership. Raised and moulded to be the best among the best, he prevailed but everything was monotone to him. No excitement, empty. Even the blood was grey to him until he found her.
One evening changed everything. His monotone life turned colourful. Her beauty captured his heart, her smile tamed his anger and her touch brought excitement to his senses. It was overwhelming yet enjoyable to him.
The evening he thought the ending of his life when he was ambushed by his enemy, actually the beginning of his happiness. She came to save him. Her palm to his cheek was warm. The pain he felt instantly numb.
“Sir! Are you okay?!” the gentle slapped from her with panic voice was the beginning of everything.
“Leave me…”
“I’m not going to leave you here. You’ll die.”
That was the last thing he heard before he opened his eyes to the small room. His nose was assaulted by the smell of herbal ointment mixed with a delicious smell of food. He tried to move but the pain stopped him. A silhouette greeted him with a beautiful gorgeous smile. The smile he yearned for years now again in front of him.
“Darling! Good morning!” a kiss landed on his forehead. Still couldn’t believe his eye. He wanted to reply yet no voice coming out.
“You can’t be here. Touma still needs you.”
He blinked a few times to digest her words. All of a sudden her sweet voice turned the deeper manly voice.
“Oyabun! Oyabun! Wake up! Hospital is not far. Hold on!”
Confused. Her silhouette disappeared and replaced by Ando’s panicked face. His yelling entered his ear yet gradually it became farther and silence. Everything becomes dark. Now he saw a boy near the lake with her.
“Touchan! Look I catch a grasshopper!” the boy skipping to him while waving his hands to him but before the boy could reach Nobu, a man snatched him and pointed a gun to the boy’s lower jaw.
“Die! Nobu you should die!” the man vein popped out with every word he uttered.
Nobu remained frozen. He can’t move either can he speak. The only thing he heard was the sobbing of the boy. His chest puffed in and out uncontrollably. The gun on the boy’s jaw was all he can focus on. All of his limbs were shaking but he remains rooted to the ground.
Out of nowhere the woman rushed to the man and grabbed the gun. They both struggled and a splash appeared near the bank. The splashed halted their movement for a moment and do not wait another minute, the woman let go of the gun and jumped towards the splash.
She grabbed the boy and swimming to the bank but the gun was aiming at her there. There is no way she could avoid it, so she used all her last strength to push out the boy while looking at Nobu with tears streamed down her cheeks.
Bang!
“Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!”
He opened his eyes and bright light rush into it forced him to squint and blocked the light with his hand. Unfortunately, he felt like his hand weight a ton. Every cell was refuse to fulfil his demand. A slight panic pinched his heart when he heard an unfamiliar voice and noise. Even the eyelids were heavy.
“He’s awake! Faster! ”
“Sir, you in the hospital! Can you tell me your name?”
“Urghhh…” and everything dark again and the distant beeping sound the only thing remains.
“My dear hubby… wake up! You promise me a date today!”
She again and this time she wore an apron. Strawberry printed apron.
She went to the window and open the curtain to allow the sunray to entered the room. And she looks like an angel with the light shone around her.
“Wake up! Breakfast ready!” she gave him a peck and pounced on him with a seductive smile. He returns it with a hug, a very tight hug.
“You alive! You alive!” he started sobbing in her embrace. “Don’t leave me again. I can’t live without you. I promise! This time I give up everything. Please don’t leave.” Her apron drenched in his tears but she said nothing. She rubbed his back and gently caress his head.
The gentle touch from her assuaged him but he did not loosen his embrace but it becomes tighter. As if he scared once he let her go, she disappeared again.
“Darling, you know it’s impossible unless you stay here, right?”
“I’ll stay! I won’t leave! I’ll stay! Please let me stay!”
A chuckle came from her. “Since when my hubby become a baby? You never like this before. You strong and tough!”
She cupped his cheeks, “I don’t mind if you want to stay but do you think that would be a wise decision?”
He froze. She always asked that every time he wanted to make a wrong action. She never says he’s wrong but she put doubt in him. Make him rethink about the matter again.
He is too tired to go through life without her. It’s been so long. The journey was too lonely and painful. Everything he’s been fighting for was for nothing. Success feels bland without her. He is the leader of the strongest Yakuza Group in Japan but it means nothing when he stood alone on the throne.
“Touchan! Okaachan!” a sweet little boy’s voice greeted them with drenched cheeks.
“Yes, little pumpkin! What’s wrong?” The pace of small shorty legs quickens to both of them. The sobbing intensified putting a frown on both them. She pulled him in between them. She dried the tears with her thumb and planted a kiss on his forehead.
“The wheel falls off. I can’t fix it.”
“Aww… let Touchan see it. Touchan can fix everything for you, right darling?” When two pairs of eyes directed to Nobu, the world feels complete. Both of them complete his world.
He nodded, “Let me try.” he took the wheel and the car toy and tinkered it back to original. He tested it in from of it, half teased the little boy. The twinkle in the boy’s eye enough to remind him why he can’t stay. That boy still needs him. He passed it back to him.
“Touchan is my hero!” his small hands wrapped around him.
“I told you your daddy can fix anything for you.” she caresses the boy’s head and kissed him.
“Yes, I will. I will always be by your side every time you need me.” He pulled them into his embrace.
