The Shinobi Demon - Chapter 1 Unattainable Dream
This heavy rain had been going on for 3 hours straight by then. In the middle of a forest located in the land between Takigakure and Kirigakure. The cracking and leakage sounds the wood made with all the water coming down on this mall cottage could stress almost anyone after a while.
Surrounded by a modest orchard and a water well, it looked like everything was built from the ground-up by unskilled but rather persistent hands. At most it looked like a year old.
Punished by ungodly amounts of water, it was a dangerous night, even for many of the beasts that infested this region, as rivers of rainwater were taking for a ride anything that was unlucky enough to stand in their path.
No civilian would be crazy enough to pass through, let alone live in this region. The absence of any signs of civilization in an approximate radius of 100 kilometers around this cottage was proof of that fact.
Well of course, there is always an exception to the rule. The two people than called this place home were the married couple of Aguri and Nobumoto Tokugawa.
In the midst of the storm they were experiencing what could possibly be described as the happiest moment of their lives: the birth of their beloved son Hayato. Two family members turned to three.
They were extremely joyful despite being downpoured to oblivion by some angry god. Aguri had spent the last 56 minutes in the painful struggle of giving birth to the baby she was now holding in her arms.
Nevertheless, Nobumoto was not idly sitting by; he was in charge of the procedure, and thanks to his vast medical-nin skills there had been no problems whatsoever. After the effort it took, he was now hugging his family with tears of joy on his eyes, while the biggest smile appeared on his face.
In the end, their combined effort delivered a healthy baby boy into this World of Shinobi.
The excellent teamwork proved how good of team they were… Showering their baby son with love was all they could think about right now, and a heartwarming sight.
Aguri, was a woman that displayed a light skin, and excellent proportions, black spiky shoulder-long hair, held in a ponytail, she was quite beautiful in general.
There were two things that took the “flawless” out of the equation though.
First one was a dark green seal mark spanning 80% of her forehead, with an “X” at the center.
The second was a headband acting as complete eye-patch. She was not blind, but rather literally eyeless.
In spite of those defects she was still a pretty and attractive woman; truly a testament to her attributes.
On the other hand, her husband Nobumoto was a man of tanned skin, stern face and a somewhat fit body. In addition to his dark brown eyes, he had dark brown combed-back hair of a medium length; also with a couple of slightly spiky eyebrows and sideburns.
The boy was born with a pair of hazel brown eyes, spiky raven black hair, and presented all the qualifications of a healthy newborn boy, everything had gone smoothly.
It was the beginning of their happy life together as the Tokugawa family short as it may have been

The first two years of Hayato’s life went by fast.
His parents were doing their best educating his son, giving love, and maintaining a quiet and harmless lifestyle.
They lived like outcasts (the good hermit type, not the serial murderer typo obviously), living off the land and worrying only about themselves.
Maybe not so ironically, choosing this place to settle down; the place no one would dare to establish even the smallest traveler’s inn or trading post as it has deemed too dangerous -even for some of the low leveled shinobi-, had become the Tokugawa’s own haven.
At last, away from all the death, the suffering, & the bloodthirst of nobles and shinobi alike.
All of the former taken to a new level, thanks to the 3rd World War that had started the previous year (46 years after Konoha’s founding).
It was too good to be true, having such peace and happiness at such a seemingly low cost… Or was it that low really?
The question had been answered by both Aguri and Nobumoto, before Hayato’s coming to this world, even before the time when they chose the location of their new home.
It was when they decided to live together and make a family. Not an easy decision to be made. And for someone in a position such as theirs, well, let’s just say that loving each other freely and playing with little Hayato in their orchard, was their “unattainable dream”.
Both parents knew each other’s circumstances they knew it was worth it taking the risk, when they sat together in their round table with barely any space for the three, and ate the modest yet delicious- homemade breakfast Aguri prepared every morning, while she fed the baby.
Those moments were so wholesome for the three, but even more for the parents. Their dream had become a reality despite all odds.
But then again, it was too good to be true
There’s a saying that goes: once a shinobi, always a shinobi.
As such, Aguri and Nobumoto realized the potential dangers that lurked out there, and were reminded of them once again with Hayato’s birth.
One thing however, is being aware, and other much different is acting on it.
It was normal of course; that the mother was too infatuated giving love, attention and education, as she tried to ignore the fear of losing it all.
[It’s for my family, that I will give it my all as a mother and wife. We made it this far for a reason didn’t we?] It’s what went through her mind.
In Nobumoto’s case, he took take care of the manual labor in both the orchard and the cottage, slowly but steadily expanding and refitting it into something able to house the Tokugawa family in a somewhat comfortable manner.
That gave him some time alone, and without Aguri’s words of reassurance, his latent fear of something bad happening was increasing
He decided to put in motion what he thought to be the solution to his worries: training little Hayato into someone who would be able to protect himself should the need arise.
[Aguri need not know about this matter, as it would perturb her mind with memories buried in the past. Plus it’s nothing bad so where’s the harm in that?]
As he thought to himself trying to calm his mind, the voice in the back of his head wasn’t able to be silenced completely
