The Side Character Turned Villainess - Chapter 247
The Original Seri immediately panicked when she heard Seri say this, “What are you talking about?!”
Seri wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, “Of course I mean to indulge in the pleasures of the flesh and soul.”
The Original Seri felt her concern only get worse, “Leia! You must not do anything foolish!”
Seri didn’t consider her concern whatsoever. Instead, she flipped her hair with a cocky grin. “Foolish is my middle name.”
“I don’t think it is though…” The Original Seri sighed as she watched Seri run off in excitement. She begrudgingly followed after her knowing full well it’s not like there was any other place that she could go.
Seri skipped through the town with a large grin. Since it was late at night, there were not very many people on the streets. Eventually, she snuck into the rundown neighborhood that was teeming with gang activity. The Original Seri may be dead, but even she felt a bit nervous.
Seri stopped at a building with a devious smile. The Original Seri looked at it and could hear the giggling of women inside the building as they tended to their male guest’s needs. It was very clear what place Seri intended to take her into.
Her mouth dropped in surprise, “W-Why here?”
Seri casually pointed to the building next to the one the Original Seri had been looking at, “I will show you just how pleasant it feels to indulge in the pleasure of the soul.”
The Original Seri sighed, “For a moment there I thought you were going to teach me the pleasures of the skin by going into a-”
“A gambling den! That’s right.” Seri casually walked into the building which reeked of smoke and depression.
The Original Seri shook her head, “That’s not what I was going to say.”
Seri walked into the building coughing from the musky smell of smoke while looking at the gambling tables with excitement. She strolled over to a table and sat down. She tapped the table, “Deal me in.”
The Dealer looked at her in disapproval. The men sitting at the table chuckled, “Do you even have money for this pale skin?”
She tossed out the coins from her pocket, “Of course I do. Now deal me in.”
The dealer shrugged and dealt the cards, “Don’t cry to us when you lose all the money you have to live off of.”
Seri ignored their mocking laughs and confidently waited. They dealt her in and soon began to play. The Original Seri stood behind her watching in boredom. She had never cared much for gambling. To her it was a waste of money. Why bet money on something that could be lost so easily?
However, contrary to the Original Seri’s beliefs, Seri didn’t lose a single penny. In fact, her winnings were piling up so fiercely a crowd was starting to gather around. They all watched in surprise and awe.
The Original Seri was impressed, “I was wrong! I thought your luck was bad. However, it must be good for you to keep winning this much!”
Seri chuckled as she looked at the cards, “It’s not luck. I’m counting cards.”
The Original Seri blinked, “…What.”
The dealer immediately stopped and glared at Seri, “Did you just say you are counting cards?!”
Seri looked up and spoke unapologetically, “Oops. Did I say that out loud?”
The dealer shouted, “WE GOT A SWINDLER IN HOUSE!”
Suddenly armed men brandished their weapons and prepared to attack Seri. Seri only gave a carefree chuckle, “Oh my, oh my. Hasn’t anyone ever told you boys not to play with scissors?”
She pulled out a tube from under her shirt with a malicious smile. As soon as she uncorked it, someone screamed, “RUN!”
However, before anyone could, fireworks shot out of the tube hitting the roof above. It exploded on the ceiling causing smoke to fill the room. Flames started to dance threatening to burn the entire building down. Most people covered their burst eardrums from the sudden explosions.
Seri had already slipped out during the confusion, leaving behind the burning building with people screaming as they ran out. Seri laughed as she rushed away from the scene of the crime. She continued up the hill in the direction of the Palace gates.
The Original Seri noticed she stopped running and looked behind her. In the distance smoke could be seen rising in the night sky. She frowned, “Are those people going to be okay?”
Seri shrugged, “I’m sure they are fine.”
“Where did you even get a canister of fireworks?!”
“While Gilyn was choking me, I reached into his belt and stole them. Then I replaced it with some trash that had been in the alley. He never noticed.”
The Original Seri sighed, “You stole fireworks from him? Once he notices them missing, he’s going to be so angry. He definitely will not help us then.”
“He won’t notice them missing. All of the Sanki soldiers carry them around in case of an invasion. When they see an enemy, the open the cap and the tubes self-detonate, sending fireworks into the sky without even needing to be lit. I heard someone mention it and I knew I had to get my hands on one. It was as fun as I had thought it would be!”
She added with a smirk, “I need to figure out how they make those…”
The Original Seri stared at her blankly under the veil, “So you mean to say that he won’t figure it out until he is in an emergency and needs to warn the others?”
“Exactly. But when would that happen?”
“…”
Seri looked at the Palace in front of her that was still a distance away, “I can’t believe they have so many walls here. Walls on the outside of the city and walls along the Palace.”
Her eyes strayed to a location next to the palace. One that was hidden, but also one she had been to before. Her voice was a bit gloomy, “And walls surrounding the hidden dungeon underground.”
The Original Seri sighed, “It’s okay. You will save Dante soon. Try not to feel so despondent.”
Then a brilliant idea (only one that a drunk individual could find brilliant) popped into her head. A sly malevolent smile crossed Seri’s face, “Why bother waiting?”
The Original Seri suddenly had a bad feeling, “Uhoh.”
“Tonight I will set Dante free! Or else my name isn’t Seri!” Her maniacal laughter suddenly paused. Her eyebrows pinched together in confusion, “Or is my name Leia?”
The Original Seri could only shrug wordlessly. Seri didn’t wait for her to respond as she suddenly began to charge towards the hidden dungeons.
The Original Seri began to panic, “No! If you break in again, everything will happen just like before! They may even kill you! YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE A SWORD!”
Seri shouted back, “WHO NEEDS A SWORD WHEN YOU’RE IMMORTAL!”
The Original Seri whined, “For the last time! You aren’t immortal! Stop acting so delusional!”
Seeing that Seri had no intention of stopping or thinking rationally, the Original Seri began to panic. No matter how much she tried to persuade her to think clearly, she was too drunk and disorderly to listen.
The Original Seri jumped in front of her and put her hands out, “Leia! You must stop! Think about Dante!”
Seri just ran through her without paying her any attention. Her crazed mind was already made up. Judging by her previous luck, it was certain that this time not only would she fail, but it would also prove to be quite disastrous.
The Original Seri was out of options. She couldn’t stop her with her body, nor could she reason with her. She was left with only one option. She looked behind to where Seri had run from in a terrible mood.
She spat out a name hatefully, “Millie.”
Just like always, Millie had been diligently stalking Seri. However, she was not able to find her way into the castle without getting seen. So, she had to unfortunately wait until Seri left the Palace in order to continue tailing her once more.
Thus, Millie had no idea what all happened within the Palace. If she had known what exactly Simon did to Seri the first night, she probably would have ripped him to shreds in the most inhumane way possible.
In order to get her dose of seeing Seri, Millie decided to scale the side of the Palace and enter Seri’s room. She knew exactly what room belonged to Seri from the many days she spent watching the movements in the Palace.
As she climbed up the side of the Palace using only her strong grip on the bricks, she found herself at the window. Before she could pull herself inside, there was a figure standing in the way forcing her to stop advancing.
Simon smirked at Millie, “Oh look, Seri’s little shadow followed her to my humble home. How loyal of her.”
Millie growled at him hatefully before promptly sliding back down the side of the Palace walls. She paused and looked back up only to see Simon smiling at her with a strange grin. She clicked her tongue and decided to try again on a different day.
However, that bastard Simon was always on alert. Every time she managed to sneak in, he would be there waiting for her.
Millie was surprised that he didn’t reveal her presence nor did he try to kill her. However, she wasn’t too concerned with finding out why exactly he hadn’t either. Thus, she continued to stalk and try to figure out ways to sneak inside Seri’s room to watch her sleep.
An obsessive woman is a frightening woman indeed.
