Tip tap, tip tap.
Black blood dripped onto the ground, emitting a puff of black smoke. The demonic insects remained in a clawing position, as a green spike of poison penetrated its sturdy carapace, or rather, it would be more accurate to say that its carapace was corroded, turning it into a rotting mess. The green poison spike corrupted its shell and pierced into its body.
Fan’er watched the demonic insects collapsing in front of her, leaving her terrified and breathless. She burst into tears.
“Waaah!!! Sister Jensy! Why couldn’t you come earlier!”
“I’m sorry. As soon as we heard the signal from Miss Wind Chimes, the guards from our two castles immediately assembled. However, we encountered those b*stards from Water Castle, which delayed us for some time.” Jensy, who was accompanied by guards of Wind Castle and Thunder Castle, stepped forward and gently stroked Fan’er’s head.
“Alright, don’t cry. I’ve seen it all. You were very brave. Now, follow everyone to a safe place.” Jensy asked several guards to take Fan’er and the wounded soldier away.
“Sister Jensy, be careful.” Fan’er looked at Jensy worriedly.
“Of course.” Jensy smiled and then shifted her gaze to the remaining demonic insects in front of her.
“Pseudotoxin.” Jensy noticed the darkening floor caused by the demon insects’ saliva and smiled with a touch of disdain.
At that moment time, several more demonic insects landed.
“In that case, I’ll leave them all to you. Everyone else will watch your performance.” Fox patted Jensy on the shoulder.
“Don’t! They’re so disgusting! I can’t handle them alone!” Jensy quickly grabbed Fox’s hand.
“Then what was with your high and mighty attitude earlier?” Fox playfully knocked Jensy on the head.
The demonic insects had no time to spare. Watching two beautiful spirit ladies playing in front of them, no matter what species they were, they were mere food in their eyes, so they lunged forward.
With a flick of her hand, Fox conjured a white fog that trapped the demon insects inside, rendering them unable to escape.
In reality, the range of the fog was quite small, so the legs of some demon insects protruded from it. However, fog magic had the ability to deceive the enemy’s eyes, causing them to spin in place. That was particularly effective against creatures, like demon insects, that lacked intelligence.
“Hey, it’s your turn now.” Fox gestured toward the fox mist.
Jensy took a deep breath, extended her hands upward, and a green magic circle appeared above the white fog. Shortly after, poisonous cones shot out from within.
“Splat, splat.”
The tough shells, under the influence of the corrosive poison, turned into marshmallows. Soon, the white fog fell silent, and black blood flowed from many demon insects.
“Great!” Jensy struck a triumphant pose. However, a few more demonic insects descended after that.
“You guys go up to help the others. There are too many of these things. If they land here, we’ll take care of them.” Fox signaled the other guards to go up to the city wall.
“Be careful.”
A few guards stayed behind to assist Jensy and Fox.
Just like before, a cloud of white fog and a poison-based magic took care of those demonic insects.
At the beginning, Jensy felt quite relaxed, but later, as more and more demonic insects descended, she began to struggle, while Fox was managing it well.
“Take a rest first. Let the others take over the attack instead of you. As long as I’m here, these creatures won’t get away.” Fox suggested.

“Say, isn’t it about time? The insects have already weakened the stamina of the defending soldiers. It’s time to break through the city gates, don’t you think?” The female demon clan member seemed impatient. She clutched her chest and kept twisting her body, “I can’t… wait any longer.”
“Hmph~” Bull-head snorted out a fiery breath and pulled out the axe behind him, striding towards the towering city gate, which was just as tall as the city walls.
“Yeah, Pine is going to show off his strength!” The female demon clan member followed behind the bull-headed demon clan member, while the rest of the demonic soldiers followed closely behind.
Five meters away from the city gate, Bull-head raised his axe high. The muscles on his arms suddenly bulged and his fur burnt into flames. The dark red axe began to glow.
The female demon clan inadvertently looked up at the city wall, and suddenly seemed to have discovered something. There was a look of joy on her face.
“Haa… Hah!” The axe fell.
“Boom!” There was a thunderous roar that shook the ground, causing the earth to tremble violently.
The soldiers fighting on the city wall noticed the raging fire appearing in the darkness. The fire was like a wild beast, devouring everything in its path, leaving behind black traces as evidence of its rampage.
“Boom!” The city wall seemed on the verge of collapsing. Soldiers and guards could barely stand their ground. The climbing demonic insects were all knocked down and scattered on the ground due to the impact.
Jensy and the others near the city gate were thrown back by the impact. When they opened their eyes again, dark flames were burning on the wall. The original city gate, which had been fortified with magic, had been reduced to rubble.
Outside the city gate, numerous members of the demon clan were rushing over.
Jensy got up and shook her head, “Fox?” Her vision was a little blurred from the explosion.
“I’m right here…” Fox’s lazy tone rang out.
Following the voice, Fox was lying on the ground.
“What are you doing? Hurry and get up n…” As she quickly widened her eyes, Jensy saw the scene in front of her clearly. Fox’s legs were crushed by the debris of the city gate.
At the time of the explosion, Jensy felt someone push her. Could it be…
“Wait, I’ll move it right away.” Jensy ran to Fox and exerted all her strength to try moving the massive three-square-meter wooden debris.
However, her strength was like that of an ant, unable to budge the tree-like debris.
“Quick, come and help me, guys.” Jensy said to the nearby guards not far away.
“It’s too late…you should run too.” Fox smiled. Her lower body was already covered in blood.
“Right, they’re coming in!” Seeing such an overwhelming number of demonic soldiers, the guard gritted his teeth before running away.
“Hey!” Jensy shouted at the guard’s retreating figure. She looked back, and indeed, the demonic soldiers had already entered the gates.
There were so many of them, not to mention that all of them were fierce and terrifying.
“Move for me, will you?!” Jensy’s face flushed as she tried moving the city gate debris, but she could not even bulge it an inch.
“Just go, I’ll cover you.” With that, Fox extended her palm and released a cloud of fog towards the approaching demonic soldiers.
“It might delay them for a few seconds. Don’t worry about me… heh…”
“No! How can I just leave you behind!” Jensy used poison to try corroding the debris, but the city gate was made of a special wood that absorbed magic and has been strengthened by the Great Spirit Elder, so it had no effect at all.
“If that’s the case!” Jensy turned around. Her chest heaved as she looked at the several demonic soldiers that had already escaped the fog and continued approaching her.
It was the first time she felt that her heart could pound so fast.
“Kill them, killing some spirits is allowed.” The demonic soldiers muttered in a language Jensy could not understand, then she saw the demonic soldiers coming towards her with their weapons raised.
She attacked with poison. It had to be said that Jensy’s poison was still quite effective. She hit two demonic soldiers and immediately causing their armor to decay. However, the rest of the demonic soldiers agilely dodged her attacks and continued charging towards her.
“Swoosh.” A ball of flames hit a demonic soldier’s head. Although it did not cause too much damage to the demonic soldier, it ignited its helmet.
“Fan’er! What are you doing here?!”
“I… I want to help Sister Jensy and Sister Fox!”
“Me too!” Jane-Coral also ran over at some point. She threw a seed that immediately sprouted, tripping several demonic soldiers. However, she was exhausted from just using that magic.
“Quick, find a safe place to hide!” Jensy said with a stern face as she attacked the demonic soldiers, while urging Fan’er and Jane-Coral to leave.
In response, the two little girls firmly replied in unison, “No!”
“Ah, you two are really giving me a headache.” Fox sighed as she shook her head.
More demonic soldiers got rid of the fog, pointed to Jensy and the others, and started moving towards them.
Suddenly, a massive demonic insect broke through the fog and charged straight towards their side. All the demonic soldiers in its path were sent flying in the air.
“It’s coming! Everyone, get ready!”
Jensy looked at the gigantic demonic insect, and used all her abilities. She unleashed [Venomous Snake Bite]. Multiple venomous snakes made of poisonous gas opened their mouths wide open, tearing into the demonic insect.
Fan’er also exerted all her strength and released a huge fireball for the attack. Jane-Coral did not have much magic power left, yet she was still throwing a few seeds that germinated and tripped the soldiers.
However, all those attacks proved futile against the impact of the demonic insect.
“Get away!” Jensy pushed Fan’er and Jane-Coral aside and also fell to the ground herself, making her groan in a low voice. In her emerald green eyes, the shiny carapace of the demonic insect was getting closer and closer.
A dark figure flashed in front of them, wearing the typical casual attire of the human realm, with black hair. The terrifying sight of the demonic insect was replaced by a friendly back.
“Hooo—— Haggeli!!!” The Dragon Roar of Madness resonated deep within Jensy and the others, shaking them to their souls.
The howling energy sphere collided with the demonic insect, successfully blocking its advance, pushing the demonic insect away for a considerably far distance, and making it flip over. Its legs writhed in the air, struggling incessantly.
“Phew~ That was close… so close. It’s really a close call.” The young man, who stood in front of Jensy and the others, turned his head, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and gave them a smile of relief.
