The Sinners Queen - 288 Unfamiliar World 1
‘Where am I?’
The moment Sofony opened her eyes and saw that she was in an unfamiliar place, her heart dropped, and she began to look around frantically. It was a second later that she realized her tied were tied, her mouth was gagged, her bare feet were also chained. Her state made her realize she was in a very confusing and bad situation.
Dark ceilings, cold floor, sounds of rats, cries of females… As these details made way into her brain, memories also started to pour into her mind, allowing her to remember that she was attacked near the elevator where her sister vanished.
After that was a blinding flash and light that engulfed her… and teleported her somewhere she didn’t know?
‘System!’ The girl temporarily ignored the fact that she was in a cell housing several chained and bound girls like her, all with good looks and slim bodies that could have been a clue to what was happening. All that was in her mind was to confirm whether the damn being in her head could still be accessed. After all, considering she was ambushed by an unknown enemy, the worst thing that could happen to her was to completely lose her items and the points.
‘System!’ A second later, she called out again, her voice laced in panic.
Came a reply not long after.
As usual, the system’s voice was irritating and full of disdain. But it strangely calmed Sofony, making her body relaxed.
It was not that she had become very dependent on the system. Contrary to that, she was always vigilant against it. But desperate times called for desperate measures. When faced with the unknown, she knew her abilities might be limited which meant she would have to use some of her points to purchase items or information to deal with it. All of it would require the little devil’s assistance.
Sofony breathed a sigh of relief and then ask her whereabouts from it. Her hands were not idle, breaking free from the rope used to tie them. ‘I remember being teleported and I’m not sure where this place is. Am I still on earth? Or in a layer?’
Irritation floated across the beautiful face of the woman. Apart from being irked by the system, she was not finding the place she was at likable. But, that was it. Her confidence returned after she had easily broken free from everything shackling her. She noiselessly backed away into a corner, choosing the one farthest from the rest of the crying girls which was coincidentally also the darkest. Afterward, she made herself invisible.
None of the girls had noticed the disappearance of another person in the cell. Their minds were on their imminent fate which had been sealed the moment they got captured.
Sofony frowned and stood up, then she teleported outside the prison cell. The corridor was not as dark due to the torches. She only looked back once before walking down the path. Feeling the coldness on her feet, a pair of shoes briefly materialized in place, but since it vanished a second after, none of the guards manning each cell managed to notice it.
“Seventeen…” The girl absentmindedly murmured once done roaming her eyes in all directions.
She had just passed by one of the guards dressed like a thug. Yet the person merely furrowed his brows and looked behind him to check if somebody from the captured women had just spoken. The thought that maybe an invisible lady next to him was the one who spoke never crossed his mind. After all, that was just too absurd.
‘Hmm?’ Like the other cells, the girls inside were either cursing or crying. This was why the robust guy lost interest in checking which one had just said a number.
Sofony by then was several paces away, but she stopped walking for a couple of seconds after seeing a disturbing sight.
The invisible lady nodded, flicking her finger to make the laughing guardsman inside the cell to her left fell asleep, that way, the girl who was about to rape was saved.
Her steps then resumed, eyes leaving the crying woman who got pulled into safety by one of her female comrades. Reaching the end of the corridor, she noiselessly climbed the staircase on her right.
Sofony was a bit unsettled since she was in a place she didn’t know and she was worried about a lot of things. If the matter about the surface world were to be taken out, there were still two questions playing in her mind. Who the hell attacked her? And how could she go back?
Anger had swiftly budded inside her, which turned into a huge fire in her heart the moment she heard the continuation from the system.
The girl raised an eyebrow. “This is a slave traders camp, right? The cells only hold girls so obviously the people here are dealing with human trafficking.”
The complaint was because Sofony did ask something, but it was a question only needing a yes or no, which it could not charge upon since she answered it by herself.
The woman finished ascending the stairs, emerging upon a piece of land that was next to a tall wall made of stone and mud. She raised her brow again. It was broad daylight, yet she could see many people dressed in coarse ancient C empire style clothing partying with booze in hands. No, actually, on one side, people dressed like merchants, nobles, or bandit people with high rank were the ones laughing and seemingly celebrating. A few were taking liberties of some unwilling ladies. The rest who looked like henchmen or lower-ranked bandits were near the forest, executing people that were kneeling on the ground.
Sofony looked up to the sky and judged that it was past twelve noon. She then sunk into deep contemplation…
“A while back, I walked all the way here in fear of getting caught by a system user. But from the looks of it, since I can teleport…. there is actually no reason for me to be so vigilant…”
She was a distance away from the group of people so the only one who heard her soft voice was the system. It suddenly laughed in a weird manner, as if it was anticipating a good show.
As for Sofony, she gave the sight before her one last glance before deciding to go back to the dark dungeon.
…
Hours after… three miles away from the slave traders’ camp…
A city guard ran panically ran towards a mansion near the city center and entered through a side door. Fearful and with large beads of sweat running down his face, he stuttered towards the person in that backyard.
“G-great Sir! This is bad! W-wiped out! Merchant Guo’s whole camp is wiped out!”
The majestic brocade-robed middle-aged fishing on the pond stood up in shock and exclaimed, “What!?”
