The Six Guns - 46 Chapter Forty Six
Finn jumps over the counter and gets away from the bartender. As the Hunters kept their guns aimed at The Six Guns, Ruby asks “So what’s with the red scarves? Is that the uniform for your Hunter group?”.
“It’s simple and incognito” the bartender says. “Most people don’t think much about a single person wearing a simple red scarf. But when you see an army of us, that’s when you realize you’ve stepped in shit”. After he speaks, the bartender holds up a killcard. It looked similar to a regular playing card, but when he flips it over, it has Siran’s face and name on it. “You already know why we’re here”.
“Sorry if I’m spoiling the moment here” Siran says, “but I’m out of here”.
“You’re surrounded” the bartender says, “you’re not goin’ anywhere”.
“I like to think of myself as a free spirit” Siran says, “I go wherever the hell I want”. Siran stomps one foot on the ground and a wall of rock shoots through the basement floor and separates the Hunters and the crew. When they turn around to run, they find more Hunters behind them.
“Yeah, didn’t think it’d be that easy” Finn says.
“Well, he did say we were surrounded” Siran says as he creates a dome shaped digital shield around the Hunters. The shield entrapped them, keeping them from moving outside. Siran then throws reactive endo at the shield, but instead of piercing the shield, it’s absorbed into the shield. Within a matter of seconds, the Hunters started shivering and their breaths became visible. It suddenly got extremely cold inside of the digital shield. Siran then presses his hands on the ground and what looks like a thick sheet of ice forms on the ground beneath their feet.
“Are you trying to trip us, or give us a good time?” one of the Hunters ask from inside the dome shield.
“Neither” Siran says, “instead, I have a pop quiz for you while you wait for your friends to find an exit in the back of the bar. What happens when objects are cooled down to extreme temperatures?”.
“They freeze or solidify” the Hunter responds.
“The particles also slow down” Siran says. “Now what happens when you suddenly super heat the object?”.
“It will sublimate or melt, causing the particles to move faster suddenly, causing an expansion” the Hunter says, suddenly getting worried.
“Now what happens if that occurs in a closed off space?” Siran asks.
“Uhh…” the Hunter responds.
“Oh, I know this one” Rose says. “It creates an increase of pressure, like a heavy impact. Then like a small explosion from the increase of pressure”.
“Good” Siran says, “Now just add hydrogen and…”.
As Siran creates a large fire bolt spell in one hand and reactive endo in the other, the Hunter says “Oh no…”. When Siran throws the reactive endo and fire at the same time, they’re absorbed into the shield, creating a wave of intense heat. Within a split second, the shield shatters from an explosion created from the inside.
As the Hunters from the back of the bar make their way outside to attack The Six Guns, the crew had already fled. They stole some of the biker gang’s motorcycles and got away. As they flee, Mikoto asks over the earpieces that Vivi bought them “So why are they after us again?”.
“The Hunters?” Siran asks.
“Yeah” Mikoto says. “Were they hired by The Ly’Lum or something?”.
“I doubt it” Siran says. “The Hunters tend to go after large targets that have a high bounty. Since we were deemed outlaws by The Ly’Lum, and since the world knows who I am now, that has likely put us at the top of their list of most wanted”.
“Long story short” Alex says, “they don’t care if you’re the good guy or not, they just want to fill their pockets?”.
“Sounds about right” Vivi says. “There are several different groups of Hunters, and I don’t know what the name of their group is, but they’re definitely the kind to worry about money before worrying about anything else”.
“I don’t know who those Hunters are either” Ruby says. “I’ve heard of a Hunter gang that wears red scarves, but I’ve never heard their names… or maybe I just forgot their name, I’m not sure”.
“Does this mean there will be more of them coming for us?” Rose asks.
“More than likely” Siran says.
“Hunters are usually very dangerous people” Ruby says, “so watch your backs. The red scarf gang should’ve easily been able to bypass your wall of rock, had any of them practiced elemental magic. You just got lucky”.
“How dangerous are we talking?” Alex asks. “I’d like a detailed sit-rep before rushing into more danger here”.
“If I had to take an educated guess” Ruby says, “they range between better than the average soldier, to much better than the MTRU”.
“I don’t like how wide that range of skill is” Alex says.
“All the more reason to watch your backs” Ruby says.
“By the way” Holly says, “we didn’t get the chance to find out where the rest of the bikers are hiding”.
“With all the commotion going on” Siran says, “I think it’s likely that they’ll find us before we find them”.
Meanwhile, in Omnium Guild. “The new AI for Predator has been finished” Markwood says. “The Hunters have already made their move, it’s time we send the Predator in to do his work”.
“Where are we going to send it?” Garreth asks.
“We don’t know where The Six Guns are currently” Agatha says, “but we can always lure them somewhere. Send Predator there to wait for them, and the rest will work itself out”.
“That’s a good plan” Markwood says, “I like your thinking. But where should we lure them to?”.
“It needs to be somewhere that they frequent” John says, “somewhere that they care about. If we send a false request from a place they couldn’t resist helping, then they’ll have to go”.
“Which place do we know of that they’ve spent a lot of time at?” Kyle asks.
“Seeira” Garreth says. “We’ll send Predator to Seeira”.
The Mages sent out Predator. Predator wore armor that looked a lot like the armor that Siran wore when he used his alter ego, The Sniper. The Predator even had the same mask and long dark blue, cape-like scarf. With the armor and clothes the Predator wore, it would be easy to mistake him for a human in armor.
In Waramungu, Australia the crew makes their way past this broken down gas station. As dilapidated as the gas station was, there were several motorcycles of the same kind the bikers gang uses outside of the building. As the team tries to enter the building, several biker gang members come from around the outside in an attempt to surround the crew.
“If you wanted to come up here unnoticed” a biker says, “then you shouldn’t have used one of our bikes to do so”.
“Not too smart” another biker says.
“I’m really tired of this shit” Siran says, “just kill them”.
Holly uses her digital art she invented, Dokkaebi. Using her shields, she swipes at all the bikers. Their inefficiency at magic couldn’t save them. Before they knew it, the rest of the biker gang had fallen. Before The Six Guns fled the scene, they burned down the gas station, in hopes that the place was the final hideout for the biker gang. Later that night, the crew catches a plane back to Balphor. The trip was long, and the team fell asleep on the plane. When they wake up in Balphor, Holly starts to panic. “Guys, bad news” she says, “I’ve found another request and it seems important”.
“Where is it this time?” Alex asks. “We are just about to reach home”.
“This is why it’s important” Holly says. “The request is for Seeira”.
“What!?” Vivi panics.
“We need to get back as soon as possible” Siran says.
The crew tries to rush out of Balphor, but before they make it to Seeira, they’re stopped by a group of people wearing black uniforms with a dark blue patch of a crosshair on the back of their jackets.
“Hold it right there, Siran” a man says as he slowly walks towards Siran. The man was wearing a black cowboy hat, and he pulls a killcard out from under his hat and flips it around to show Siran’s face on the card. “We’re the Killshot Hunters, and you should know by now that almost every Hunter in the world is after you already”.
“Oh god dammit!” Siran yells, “not right now, we’re kind of busy!”.
“Then hear me out” the man says. “My name is Kirk. Now, while we do want to claim that bounty on your head, we’ve also decided that we only want you and not the rest of your team”.
“Come again?” Siran asks.
“If you give yourself up” Kirk says, “then we won’t harm your crew. Simple as that. The world doesn’t need a Siran anymore, but what The Six Guns do… Well, that’s definitely something I’d like to see”.
“Give me a moment to think about it” Siran says. Before Kirk had the chance to respond, Siran traps them in a circular wall of rocks. The crew begins running towards Seeira again, but the sounds of the rock wall cracking could be heard.
“You think they know enough elemental magic?” Finn asks.
As Siran looks over his shoulder, a beam from a gun shot right through the rock and came right after Siran. With his quick reflexes, Siran turns around and redirects the beam straight up into the air.
“That wasn’t elemental magic at all” Satomi says.
“Clever” Kirk says with clairvoyance magic shining in his eyes, “I didn’t expect you to play so dirty when I was so polite”.
“I’m sorry” Siran says. “You know what’d help? Going to your nearest store, buying something called lubricant, applying it DIRECTLY ON YOUR ASSHOLE, AND THAT’LL HELP YOU GO FUCK YOURSELF!”.
“I’m heart broken” Kirk says, “you’d throw my offer back in my face like that?”.
“I’ll throw more back at your face” Siran says as he prepares reactive endo.
“We don’t have the time!” Vivi shouts.
“I’ll make this quick!” Siran says. Siran then throws the endo straight up and it comes down on the Killshot Hunters like a mortar. As the endo comes close to the ground, it changes shape and becomes a bolt of lightning. It strikes the ground with an immense force, creating a small crater in the ground. Before taking the chance to see if any of the Killshot Hunters died, the crew began to run off. By the time the dust and smoke cleared, The Six Guns were already out of sight.
“Is everyone alright?” Kirk asks the rest of his crew.
“We’re all still alive, if that’s what you mean” one of Kirk’s men replies.
“Sneaky little fox” Kirk says as he stares off in the distance where The Six Guns used to be.
As The Six Guns arrive in Seeira, they have found nothing out of the ordinary yet. They flee to Vivi’s shop and take a moment to relax. After a few hours, a group of three Ly’Lum soldiers enter Vivi’s shop. “How can I help you?” Vivi asks unenthusiastically.
“We’ve had word that The Six Guns were equipped with a strange set of guns a while back and we’ve been holding an investigation ever since” one of The Ly’Lum soldiers say. “We have a reason to believe that the gunsmith that made these for them came from Seeira and that you were the most well known gunsmith in Seeira. Now answer our questions, are you involved with The Six Guns?”.
“Involved?” Vivi asks.
“Who is making their guns?” The soldier asks.
Vivi sighs and says “I swear I can never catch a break”. Vivi then pulls out her metal calling card that ties her to The Six Guns. On one side, it says The Six Guns and on the other side it shows the number 10. The soldier was stunned at first. He expected some lying and roundabout answers. Instead, he was met with upfront honesty and several guns to his head, all from Vivi.
“I’m not in the mood for this kind of crap” Vivi says. The soldiers panic and several gunshots were heard, followed by three sounds of bodies hitting the floor.
“What was that?” Siran asks as he and a few others come out from the back of Vivi’s house.
“That was the sound of our position being compromised” Vivi says. “Looks like we’ll need to use our hideout in Vega more now”. Please go to to read the latest chapters for free
