Outside the courtyard, a girl hugged a ball in her hands while squatting on the grass patch pulling up clumps of grass. Hearing the ruckus, she raised her head, confused. “What’s that sound?” she asked.
The bodyguards looked at each other, all aware that it was the woman they had brought back from the cemetery yesterday.
At this point, she was likely receiving punishment.
Poor Yan Yiren had stepped on precious Phoebe, Young Master’s darling kitty. Of all the cats in the world, it had to be this one. Even if she didn’t die, she would soon be on the brink of death.
The crazed woman who lived in the west wing was no pushover.
“Miss, we didn’t hear anything.” The bodyguards claimed unanimously.
The girl threw down the grass in her hands. Hugging the ball, she stood up and jogged to the courtyard.
“Miss, Miss, please slow down!” The bodyguards didn’t dare stop her. All they could do was follow from behind.
A woman wearing a skirt came into Yan Yiren’s sight. Immediately, she called for help from the bodyguards behind the woman, “Help… Help!”
The girl tilted her head up high, dropping the ball in her hands in shock. The ball bounced, rolling faraway.
The girl’s expressionless face suddenly lit up as she brought her hands to her mouth, hollering like a trumpet, “Big Sis, are you doing acrobatics?”
Acrobatics?
Oh, oh my God!
Yan Yiren wished she was doing acrobatics instead, but damn it. She was not!
How could this little girl be so clueless?
Can’t she tell that my life is being threatened?
Yan Yiren suddenly realized a way out of her predicament. “Yes, yes, yes, I’m doing acrobatics. If you tell the bodyguards behind you to help me down, I’ll perform just for you, all right?”
The girl blinked, answering her, energetically, “Okay!”
She clapped excitedly as if cheering for the upcoming performance.
“Little girl, you’ll need to tell the bodyguards behind you to help me down first…” Yan Yiren was about to be driven nuts.
The girl turned around, looking serious as she pointed at a few bodyguards with her finger. “Hey, you guys. Help her.”
“Right away!” The bodyguards had no choice but to comply, entering the mansion speedily.
They opened the bedroom door where Yan Yiren was trapped. Two of the bodyguards got the crazed woman under control, while the other two carried Yan Yiren out to safety.
“Ouch ouch ouch!” Yan Yiren was in so much pain she wanted to curse!
“Excuse me.” Kacha, the bodyguard, pushed her dislocated arm back into place before continuing to carry her out.
Fang Hong stood at the doorway as she watched Yan Yiren being brought out. She asked, “Young Master’s not punishing her anymore?”
The bodyguards shook their heads. “Miss wants her.”
Fang Hong nodded in acknowledgment. “I see. I’ll arrange for another to come here.”
“Miss, she’s here.” The bodyguards carried Yan Yiren right to the girl.
Yan Yiren was exhausted, about to pass out any minute. She lifted her gaze and said, “Thank you, little girl.”
“When are you going to perform for me?” The girl’s hands cupped her face, her excitement apparent from her expression.
Now that they were up close, Yan Yiren realized that something wasn’t right with this girl.
Both her height and looks suggested that she was either sixteen or seventeen, but her intelligence…
Didn’t suggest that.
What a pity…
What a pity that she was such a beauty.
“It’s a little inconvenient for me now, sweetie. Let me get some rest first, then I’ll perform for you, okay?”
Upset, the girl pouted her lips, feeling she’d been deceived.
Sensing that things weren’t going that well, Yan Yiren immediately changed the subject. “Right, my name is Yan Yiren. What’s yours?”
At the question, the girl seemed a little shocked. Nonetheless, she still offered her name generously, “My name is Weiwei.”
“Weiwei?” Yan Yiren stretched out her hand, and to everyone’s surprise, she held onto the girl’s hand. “We’re friends now. You shouldn’t get angry with your friends.”
