“You stepped on Phoebe!” Weiwei said sternly as her expression darkened. She was staring angrily at Yan Yiren.
“Who’s Phoebe?” Yan Yiren was dumbfounded. Who had she stepped on?
She had no recollection of it whatsoever!
She had been abducted and brought here for no good reason and had seen a ghost in the middle of the night. The next day, she was called by a demoness to the mansion to serve a crazed woman.
She’d had enough!
At least let her know what on earth she had done and who she had offended!
But Weiwei was not on the same page as her at all. After glaring at her for a while, she picked up her chopsticks once again and began shoving rice into her mouth just like Yan Yiren had been doing earlier.
Yan Yiren looked at her in silence.
Little girl, are you kidding me?
…
In the east wing, a majestic part of the mansion.
In the swimming pool was a man who was as fit as a fiddle. He was swimming in the pool just like a fish in the water.
His body was long and lean body with rippling muscles. Beads of water sparkled under the sunlight as he swam.
Splash!
The man got out of the water and walked away from the pool. He was so handsome that even the servant giving him his robe turned red.
The bodyguard approached him. “Young Master, Miss finished a bowl of rice during lunch today.”
The man took the white towel and used it to wipe his hair dry. As he heard those words, the corners of his lips curled up playfully. “Mn?”
“It’s the woman we’ve brought back from the cemetery. Miss had lunch with her. And for the first time, Miss finished a bowl of rice.” The bodyguard was unable to hide the excitement in his voice.
Miss was known to be picky with her food and to not want to eat. Normally, if she had eaten half a bowl of rice, the servants would be pleased.
And now, she had finished an entire bowl of rice! That woman was remarkable!
“Weiwei likes her?”
“Yes!’
The man casually threw the towel to the servant and tightened the belt on his robe. “Bring her over to see me.”
He wanted to see for himself just what sort of woman was able to pique Weiwei’s interest.
If she was good, he would keep her. But if she was someone with ulterior motives, she would need to blame the fact she had met him on her own bad luck.
…
After Yan Yiren’s attempt to make Weiwei let her out of this place came to no avail, she decided to find a way to seek help from the outside world. But before that, she had to make sure she kept herself safe.
After lunch, it was time for Weiwei to take a nap. After the servant managed to help her fall asleep, Yan Yiren stood rooted to the ground, looking a little silly.
The servant gestured for her to leave the room. Yan Yiren glanced at Weiwei who was sleeping deeply. She steeled herself. If she had to be shameless, so be it. Nothing was more important than her life.
She laid on the chaise lounge in Weiwei’s bedroom, refusing to leave.
She had gone through mental and physical torture and had even been beaten. Once the tension in her body released, she quickly fell into a deep sleep.
She was shaken awake by the bodyguards. With her head still in a blur, she was unable to make out what was happening. She was lifted up and carried out of the room.
She only came to her senses when she was finally out of the bedroom. Struggling with all her might, she shouted: “Where are you guys taking me? Weiwei, Weiwei help me! Ugh…”
“Shut up! If you shout again, we’ll tear out your vocal cords.” The bodyguard covered her mouth, preventing her from making another noise.
Yan Yiren’s eyes widened and she stopped struggling.
A black Lincoln was parked outside the mansion. The bodyguards shoved her roughly into the care before climbing in to sit beside her.
The Lincoln started, leaving the mansion further and further behind.
Yan Yiren started feeling a little hopeless. What would her fate be?
If she had known that this would happen, she wouldn’t have gone to the cemetery alone on the anniversary of her mother’s death.
The Lincoln drove for about fifteen minutes and soon pulled up in front of an even grander building.
“What are you looking at? Get out!”
Yan Yiren grimaced in pain as she was dragged out of the car. “Don’t touch me! I’ll come by myself!”
