Jian Kang Lu picked his kitten and had dinner together with Bai Yutang’s family at Da Yuan, the Chinese restaurant near T university. It was the place where Jian Kang Lu liked to order the food delivered to Bai Yutang in his studio days.

Da Yuan is a courtyard garden restaurant set around a large pond, rich in history and well-preserved architecture. Walking down the red lantern lit entrance, you know it is likely going to be a bizarre experience, the grounds inside have traditional buildings and the staff are all in traditional dresses.

A really colourful place.The entire restaurant staff were dressed in colourful traditional Qing-dynasty dresses and garments known. They bow slightly and say ‘May you have good fortune’ and welcome you to this grand courtyard house, which uniquely named the Bai family mansion, the same surname as Bai Yutang.

The table setting is glorious. Ancient dishes are served in quick successions on stunning round tables. The decor is lovely with yellow tablecloth, pretty yellow and blue pattern China and embroidered yellow fabric covered chairs. There is a main hall and many smaller private rooms all set in authentic Qing dynasty style.

The Peking Duck, Lobster and Deer are some of the top menu picks. Other recommended dishes include the Kung Pao Shrimp, Beef/Carrot Dumplings, and Ya Fang. But even though they also serve delicacies like Bird’s-nest soup, Braised Sea Cucumber, Abalone, and authentic B city’s snacks, the taste is still below the restaurant they went for lunch.

Because of that, Jian Kang Lu and Bai Yutang didn’t order the expensive food, but ordered this restaurant’s best taste according to them, the dimsum and Fried Tomatoes with Egg.

“Woah, I feel like I’m on a movie set.” Said Bai Yuren when she saw the staff who walked them to their seats. The outdoor garden adds to the relaxing atmosphere with its large fountain and rustic Chinese décor, resulting in their dinner feeling warm and full of laughter.

Jian Kang Lu didn’t talk much, and mostly listened to Bai Yutang’s grandparents reminiscing about their eldest grandson’s childhood.

“Too bad you don’t want to try looking for a job in our home town. I bet you can get a similar job with what you work right now.” Bai Yutang’s grandmother suddenly lamented again. The rest of the dinner went fine and they went back to the hotel while Bai Yutang went home with Jian Kang Lu. Tomorrow they will send the family to the airport together.

“Gege, I’m sorry..” Bai Yutang’s head hangs low when they drive home. Jian Kang Lu knows what his kitten meant with that apologies. He smiled and just ruffled his kitten’s soft hair.

“It’s okay, baby. No rush.” His calm voice tried to soothe his kitten’s turbulent mood. As long as his kitten is willing to be with him, he is also willing to walk slowly. Their path is not easy, but he was sure as long as both of them loved each other, nothing is impossible in this world. He finally found his other half, he won’t give up easily, nor letting things as small as this to be thorn in their relationship.

Once they reached home, Bai Yutang followed his lover’s steps and went inside their dark apartment. When he reached the wall searching for the button to turn on the lights, suddenly he was pressed into the wall.
