The Stars In Your Eyes - Chapter 208

Jian Kang Lu heard his phone ringing and took it from the table beside their bed. He hoped it was from his kitten, but turns out it was the call from the hospital. His face showed a disappointed look.

It’s already 11 o’clock. Two  hours ago his kitten informed him they had already finished dinner and will go to the bar. After Jian Kang Lu finished his bath, his kitten messaged him, telling him that he had already arrived at V club.

Jian Kang Lu asked his kitten whether he needed him to pick him up at the club, but his kitten said he would be going home by taxi.

They chat a little bit. Last chat was thirty minutes ago, when he told his kitten to have fun and don’t get drunk.

Jian Kang Lu reading a book. If someone else looks at him right now, they will see a handsome man in his mid thirty wearing dark blue pajamas, calmly reading, illuminated by the soft light from his tablet, like a perfect picture.

Thirty minutes ago after their last chat, Bai Yutang sat with the crowd and thickened his face, singing the song as the others shouting, “Let us hear the new boy’s voice! Come singing! Don’t just sit in the corner!”

Bai Yutang put his phone in his bag, and then picked the song. After one song, they scream and praise his voice. Gu Jianyu also clapped. He sat beside the finance director and the HR director, as well as the other team leader.

Gu Jianyu poured the drink to the tipsy HR director, a woman in her forties. She is a cheerful lady who likes to party. “Come, the new boy had to drink also!”

Gu Jianyu frowned, he saw that Bai Yutang didn’t drink any alcohol tonight. “Don’t be naughty Lin Jie. Don’t corrupt my new boy.”

The other team leader laughed, “Don’t shield him. Let him learn how to party in this company!”

“Can you drink?” The HR director asked Bai Yutang who was still standing. The room is designed to fit thirty people. Now forty people are cramped in here. True that some already hit the dance floor downstairs, so it was not as cramped as before when they just arrived.

“Of course he can! He has the black membership card! Damn.. I didn’t even manage to get one. Said it was limited.” The project manager said.

Right at that moment, the girls from finance and a guy singing a dance korean song. Thus Bai Yutang didn’t hear the project manager’s words clearly. He answered the HR director’s question. “I can drink a little.”

“Hear hear! Come, drink this one.” The HR director gave him a blue colored drink. Bai Yutang always drinks beer and wine with his lover. Other types of liquor are too bitter for him, and he rarely drinks it. Few times he drank tequila or whiskey with his lover, but never the cocktails.

It tastes sweet and a little bit sour. It seems the bartender added some lime in here. Bai Yutang sipped it a little bit, but the HR director urged him to finish it while talking with him.

“Are you an old member of this club?” The project manager asked Bai Yutang.

“No. This is my second visit here.” Bai Yutang answered.

The project manager asked him, “How did you have a membership card if you rarely come here?”

“This club is owned by my boyfriend’s best friend’s relatives.” Bai Yutang said the truth.

“Woah! Can you recommend me to the owner for getting the black card?” The project manager then gave him another light pink coloured drink. “Toast with me!”

“I’ll try, but I can’t promise you.” Bai Yutang answered. After Bai Yutang finished his second drink, he felt a little bit dizzy. Some of the project managers and directors are foreigners. They really love to drink. Bai Yutang also received drinks from their CEO. He can’t refuse.

At 12 o’clock Jian Kang Lu messaged his kitten, offering to pick him up. He looked calm, but his heart was in turmoil. He is always worried when his kitten has to go back home late riding a taxi. With so much criminal news out there, he was afraid his kitten would fall into misery.

His kitten didn’t answer. At 12.40 Jian Kang Lu can’t sleep even though he is sleepy. He finally put down his tablet, abandoned his book. He made a cup of coffee, sipped it slowly. He called his kitten, but his kitten didn’t answer.

Jian Kang Lu couldn’t calm himself and finally walked into the closet, changed his clothes. Wearing a dark grey sweater and black jeans, he swiftly took his coat and walked out from the room, bringing his wallet, handphone, and his car key.

Jian Kang Lu was still walking to the lift when his phone rang. It was from his kitten. He answered immediately. There’s loud music in the background, it seems his kitten is still in the club.

“Baby, I’ll pick you up. Don’t ride a taxi at this hour, just wait there.”

“Hello!! Hellooo!!”

Jian Kang Lu frowned. The voice coming is not his kitten’s voice. It’s a stranger’s voice. A man.

“Hello, who is this?” Jian Kang Lu’s tone immediately changed from his pampering tone into his ‘talking to stranger with caution’ tone.

“Hello..! This is Bai Yutang’s co-worker. He’s drunk. Can you pick him up? We’re in the V club. Sorry, but we can’t send him back!” The other person is shouting, beating the loud music in the background.

“Okay. I’ll be there in a few minutes. May I know your name and your phone number? Thank you for informing me.” Jian Kang Lu politely replied.

Soon both of them exchange name and number. Jian Kang Lu recognised the name. He often hears it from his kitten. It was Xiang Cai.

Jian Kang Lu arrived in 20 minutes. At this hour, the road is quiet. Not many cars drive even though it was Christmas Eve.

Jian Kang Lu saw that the club was still crowded. Lucky for him to show his member card and be granted to cut the line. Without the member card, he can’t go inside. He called Xiang Cai and went up to the 2nd floor, following Xiang Cai’s instructions.

The call is still connected when Jian Kang Lu saw a chubby man standing near the stair.

“Mr. Xiang Cai?”

“Ah.. Mr. Jian?” Xiang Cai cut the call. He then politely shook Jian Kang Lu’s hand. “I’m Xiang Cai. Sorry for troubling you. There’s a few drunk ladies also, so we need to send them home as a priority. We can’t send Bai Yutang too.”

“It’s okay, thank you for telling me.” Jian Kang Lu politely answered. “My name is Jian Kang Lu, i’m TangTang’s boyfriend.”

Jian Kang Lu walked to the private area, following Xiang Cai who led him while peeking at his face a few times, then opened one of the doors. “Bai Yutang’s boyfriend is here.”

If Jian Kang Lu is an ordinary doctor, he will feel uncomfortable with this grand introduction. He saw a big room full of people, some of them clearly drunk, some sitting with a calm face. All of them turn their heads to look at him. There are two people singing and both of them stop to look at Jian Kang Lu also.

“Here here.. Your boyfriend is dead drunk.” A lady sitting in the corner waved her hand. Jian Kang Lu saw his kitten sit with his head laid back. His whole body is laid unguarded. Jian Kang Lu’s heart tightened. How easy for people with bad intentions to take advantage of his beloved kitten right now.

“Hello, sorry for intruding. My name is Jian Kang Lu. Thank you for taking care of my TangTang.”

The music is still played in the room. Some people were too surprised to say anything. The girls who were half sober soar in high spirits when they see a handsome man suddenly appear. This man looked to be in his early thirties, his face was clean and bright. With short hair showing his smooth forehead, tall bridge nose, and kissable lips.

He was tall, wearing that simple sweater and jeans. Ordinary man will look ordinary wearing it, but on this man, it looked like he popped out from a fashion winter magazine.

Truly, good clothes make a man. But a perfect man will make any clothes look expensive and good no matter what.

Unfortunately, a combination of good clothes and perfect man is truly deadly and enough to shift all the people’s attention in this room.

They thought, who is this male God? Is he entering the wrong room?

Then they hear Xiang Cai’s voice. With this man standing beside him, suddenly the chubby Xiang Cai was invisible in their eyes. They just notice Xiang Cai when they hear him shouting, announcing that this man is taken! Moreover, taken by another man!

Really.. Are handsome men easily bored with women? Too easy for them to get a woman, so they switch their affection to men? So hateful!

Jian Kang Lu nodded his head several times when walking towards his kitten. The lady wearing an emerald green dress beside his kitten nodded back too.

“Hello, my name is Huang Shi. Do you want to drink first before going back later?” She politely offered.

Jian Kang Lu shook his head, “I’m sorry, I still have to drive. It’s better to take TangTang home immediately. Is this okay?”

Jian Kang Lu afraid, his kitten as the newest member going back home first, is this considered impolite? What if this makes his bosses offended?

Xiang Cai also walked behind Jian Kang Lu. “That’s okay. Our boss is the one who told us to call Bai Yutang’s acquaintances to bring him home.”

Jian Kang Lu nodded. Huang Shi gave Jian Kang Lu Bai Yutang’s bag. Xiang Cai told him that Bai Yutang’s phone and wallet was inside.

“Mmm.. Mr. Jian, can you give us Bai Yutang’s membership card? We need to borrow it. Who knows if they will ask us to present it when we settle the bill.” Xiang Cai asked.

Jian Kang Lu understood what Xiang Cai means. He then searched his kitten’s wallet and gave the membership card.

“Baby.. TangTang.. I’m here.. Can you walk? Let’s go home, baby..” Jian Kang Lu softly whispered, his hand rubbed his kitten’s cheek. It’s a little bit damp. His kitten smells like alcohol, and his shirt is also a little bit wet. It seems his kitten already puked several times.

Jian Kang Lu never saw his kitten this drunk before. He was stressed to see his kitten in this state.

“Do you need our help to bring him downstairs?” Xiang Cai offered his help.

“Thank you, Mr. Xiang. But I can take care of it. Thank you for your help tonight. Let me treat you to another day.” Jian Kang Lu then scoop his kitten’s body and carry him in princess style. His kitten’s limp head was laid on his shoulder. Jian Kang Lu then walked out carefully from the room while nodding several times again.

“Thank you. I apologised for taking TangTang home first.” He said before leaving the room.

The girls and the guys look at them with envy.

The girls lamented why their boyfriend never did that to them. Girls who never had a boyfriend before secretly pray that their future boyfriend will be like Jian Kang Lu.

The guys secretly guess Bai Yutang’s weight. No matter if Bai Yutang only weighs 50 kg, it is still hard labour to carry a grown man like that. And this man easily takes care of it. Why does a man like that appear here? Won’t it just make them as fellow men look weak? Moreover, with a face and body like that, why still have to show up his strength??? So hateful!
