The Steampunk Queen - Chapter 4 Golden Robots
“Bea, wake up we’ve reached the castle.”
I opened my eyes and rubbed them as my neck cracked. Jesus! How the fuck did I sleep?! It felt like my neck was tossed into a washing machine and twisted all around. I whimpered as I struggled to raise my head. Larceus looked at me with concern. I turned away despite the pain in my neck to look at the place around me. Awe filled me. If I thought that the city was cool, I sure as hell was wrong.
The castle looked like a mix of both a Victorian style mansion and a futuristic hub. The arched doors and walls were adorned with golden machinery. Blimp-ships flew in and out of the east side of the castle as nobly dressed individuals mingled in front of the castle. Is Larceus really the King of this place? For some reason I don’t believe the shit that I’ve dropped into another dimension. I’m probably tripping or something or in some sort of coma and this is my dream. I chuckled. If this was my dream that meant that I could do what I want right?
The blimp-ship door opened as Larceus took my hand and ran inside of the castle with me. Jesus Christ is this man in need of a woman that much?
My neck cracked once more as I turned it to look at the inside of the castle entrace. It truly was beautiful. Larceus then placed his hand on the golden wall in front of us.
The sound of a drum clanging sounded before the door opened and a mechanical female voice said.
“Welcome King Larceus. Enjoy the rest of your day.”
Wow. What a welcoming message. I cried out in awe as I peered at the inside of the castle. Machinery littered the gear filled ground. Several floating gears led people to their rooms. Instead did servants golden robots carried out duties. I felt like I had fallen in some sort of Star Wars movie. One golden robot glided towards Larceus and took his coat off.
“Welcome King Larceus. Who is your guest today?”
The golden robot then peered over at me. I shuddered artificial intelligence was truly terrifying.
Larceus chuckled before he pushed me behind himself.
“She is the future Queen of Machinia. Tell my father and mother to stop interfering with my affairs.”
The golden robot blinked before it bowed and glided away.
“I shall pass on the message King Larceus. Enjoy your stay here dear guest.”
I nodded before Larceus turned to face me with a smile. I then smacked his hands away from my shoulders. I was sick and tired of being taken to places without my permission.
Larceus looked hurt before he regained his composure and smiled.
“You must feel conf-”
“Yes I fucking do. Frankly I’m confuse as to how the fuck you know so much about me. It was as if you were expecting me to come here. And what’s all of this Queen bullshit? Did I ever give you permission to make me your Queen? Because if I did I would like you to remind me.”
Larceus nodded before backing away. His usual smile now a simple poker faced expression. He sighed before saying.
“I’m here to take you to the oracle. Once you meet the oracle you can ask him questions as to the nature of why you are here and until what time.”
I stroked my chin. So I was only going to be here for some time? How interesting. But what is the reason that I’m here? Sure I’m a talented genius and manager but I don’t think my managerial experience is going to benefit me here in this world.
A large gear then dropped to the ground as it fit into a place next to us. Larceus stepped on the gear as he motioned for me to join him. As I placed my two feet on the gear it started to glow before floating.
“Master where would you like to go on this great day?”
Larceus answered.
“Go to Landrius’s office. Send him a message stating that I have brought the Queen.”
The gear lit up once more before answering.
“Understood.”
As I floated up towards a red door, a feeling of premonition filled me. Something told me that the reason that I was here isn’t just to be Queen. But for something dangerous.
