The Story Of Dusk - Volume 1 Chapter 273 The Heirloom Of Shadow Guard
“What?!” Wang Yu was in shock upon hearing Carye confession. “What did you say?! How you can do that!?”
Carye had stepped out of the line. An act like that wasn’t something that she could do without a careful consideration.
“I can’t stand that girl anymore!” Carye hollered. “She reminded me of my late sister!” She started to sob again and Wang Yu couldn’t see her like this.
“You don’t need to care for her, I have told you that so many time!” Wang Yu pulled Carye into a tight hug as he caressed her back.
“No! I can’t!” Carye shook her head vigorously. “I feel so bad every time I see her eyes. I feel like my sister looked at me and accused me for being your wife for everything that we had done to be together.”
Wang Yu’s eyes wide opened as he pressed the back of Carye’s head to muffle her voice. “Don’t say something like that.” His voice was laced with warning and worry. “We agreed to not talk about that anymore.”
Carye nodded her head, but she was still sobbing.
“Now tell me what you have done toward Senja?” Wang Yu led Carye to sit down as he asked her in low tone.
If someone heard about this and told his father, everything wouldn’t be good for Carye or for him also.
Not only Carye would be cast out from this mansion, but she would be punished severely as his father thought about Senja as the only kin that he had.
There was no room for Wang Yu to make a mistake anymore. Once he made a wrong move and acquired the hatred of his father deeper, his father would be out of his reached and the worse thing was his ambition to be the leader of the Black Sword Clan would only be merely a plan.
“I know someone from Black Market and he agreed to buy Senja.” Carye talked heartlessly as if the person who she talked to wasn’t the father of the girl. “You know Black Market better than me. Once she gets there, no one will know her identity or will mind her identity. The only thing that they concern the most is only her face.”
However, the true heartless person was Wang Yu, not only he didn’t flinch when he knew his only daughter, the only flesh and blood that he had, was being sold away to the worse place that someone could think about.
Once Senja was there, though she was alive, but she would be ruined for life. That place was a rotten place where the worse hooligan was gathering around.
“Don’t you think about my father’s reaction? Do you really think that my father will let you away easily?” Wang Yu hissed under his breath, he was so agitated, but couldn’t scold her harshly. “You should think about a better reason.”
Carye pouted, a face that she would only show it to Wang Yu as she leaned over and rested her head on Wang Yu’s shoulder. “But, I have you right?” She traced her delicate fingers along his jaw line teasingly. “You will help me.”
Wang Yu caught Carye’s hand and glared at her. “Don’t be ridiculous.” He warned her, again. He had lost count for how many he had warned this woman about this matter. “As long as my father still the leader of The Black Sword Clan, you can’t do something so bold and direct like that. My father could throw you away and I will not be able to do anything to prevent that from happening.”
Carye didn’t like the way Wang Yu put this matter, she always thought if everything would be alright once she had Wang Yu on her side. “Why don’t you take over the Black Sword Clan soon?” She smiled coquettishly. “We can do something like what we had done to Rin.”
The woman’s eyes shone viciously as her words carried venom.
“It is easy to kill my father, but there is something that I need from him and it was only him who knew where that thing.” Wang Yu’s eyes dimmed slightly. He became angry the moment he remembered what he had been through to get that item.
“What the thing that you wanted it badly?” Carye became curious as well.
“That is a family heirloom. The shadow guard’s heirloom.” Wang Yu said it impassively, but his eyes shone with greed.
“What is the shadow guard’s heirloom?” Carye peeked at Wang Yu through her lashes. She wasn’t a young woman anymore, but her beauty still could manage every man to kneel before her. The beauty that Rin, Senja’s mother had too.
“This is a long story from generation to generation.” Wang Yu said. “The story behind this country.”
“An old story” Carye mumbled. “So, what is very special about this heirloom? You can kill the current leader of the Black Sword Clan and get the heirloom.”
“Like I told you before, it is easy to kill him, but I need to know the location of the heirloom. It is very important.” Wang Yu pinched Carye’s nose. “It holds the true power of the Shadow Guard.”
“What kind of power?” Carye furrowed her brows.
“A power that could make, even the mind controller, afraid to face the holder.” Wang Yu contemplated. He eavesdrop something like this when he was young, the moment his grandfather gave the leadership of the clan to his father.
The true power of the Shadow Guard something that could destroy the entire nation if it fell in the wrong hand, even the Emperor couldn’t have a chance to see it.
It was all because of the old agreement between the leader of the Shadow Guard and the Ruler at that time. The sacred alliance.
That was why, the black Sword Clan was the only clan that could monopolize the military power of the kingdom of Azura.
Ever since that coincidence Wang Yu had imagined himself to be the strongest person in this nation where he could, even, control an Emperor.
