The Story Of Yun - Chapter 3
With the rate of two minutes per test of a person, and five stages always testing people, in an hour around a hundred and fifty people had already tested. Those who got E on their mortal talent could not help but scream and shout, leave in despair or get dragged and kicked out.
If they left the stage no one would say anything, but if they did not comply with the norms of the test they would be kicked out ruthlessly. Seeing this did not astonish Yun.
‘Seems pretty fair, I was never treated better even if I had talent, assuming I do not have any, maybe the treatment god gave me was supposed to be taken like this too?’. Yun’s thinking was way too harsh. In reality, it would never be accounted as to be his fault that he was homeless, after all, a child should be under the responsibility of the parents.
Breaking Yun’s train of thought was a huge commotion, the audience stood up and was chattering relentlessly, even the youths started speaking and shouting. The elder with the walking stick even showed a rare expression, an expression of surprise. However, the four major sect seniors did not show any sign of shock.
When the elder with the walking stick looked at them, he could not help but look back at when he had been at their tests. These four major seniors were monsters in their own right, what happened down there was nothing special to them.
In group A, on the stage stood a prince-like youth, with long black hair and a charming smile. He was currently holding out his palm, colliding with the pillar that tests mortal talent. On the pillar, it showed his talent, and this is what got many riled up. Getting a CC average was the highest yet, he not only broke that, he smashed it and stomped on it relentlessly.
Mortal Talent: A
Martial Talent: A
Body Talent: A
Reaction: A
Straight A’s, no matter what his immortal talent was he was sure to get a spot in one of the four major sects, normally this would not be the case just by high mortal talent. But due to the fact that having A or above would naturally mean your chance of reaching immortality was as much as guaranteed!
If that was not enough, the highest immortal talent reached so far had been a B, when he moved his palm onto the other pillar, the one for testing immortal talent, undoubtedly it showed an average of BB! That was definitely an entry to one of the four major sects!
The immortal pillar showed
Immortal Talent: B
Immortal Cultivation Talent: BB
Immortal Technique Talent: CC
Immortal Strength Talent: B
Although this was not as good, it was still enough for most to feel envious of his talent, the youth with prince-like looks bowed and walked down the stage. Although Yun did not hear his name, it was not hard to find out since people were whispering and chattering aloud around him. “Wiyu Yi has such beautiful hair! Not even us girls can grow our hair as long as he did, reaching his lower back! And his hair is so smooth and perfectly cut, he really looks good in his blue robes!” girls were dreaming of being together with him.
When Wiyu Yi walked down the stage, swarms of girls and a few boys approached him, the girls because they wanted to curry favor with him, and charm him to be their boyfriend, the boys wanted to be on friendly terms with him so that they could use his name and power later. A powerful immortal backing, almost everyone knew the importance of this.
After Wiyu Yi walked down the stage, Yun heard a familiar name being called from his group. Yes, this time it was Pell who was called up! Yun could not help but be other than enormously curious. Looking at Pell he could not seem to imagine that he had great talents, considering his personality and poor looks…
But what really shocked Yun was that he was almost on par with Wiyu Yi in talent! Although people had regained themselves, they still became shocked, although this time not as many girls swarmed to Pell, mostly because he was laughing loudly and acting like a person with a disorder… and poor looks.

Pell was even a bit stronger in terms of talent than Wiyu Yi, this quietly rocked everyone, to think that two geniuses popped up right after each other. Out of the hundred and fifty people done testing, only two had managed to pull a fast one on the audience. A few more hours quickly passed, and similarly, geniuses started popping up. The best so far was a girl named Lu Yue.

This time the four major sects did show some expression, they were all smiling and eyeing each other, having similar thoughts of taking this one with them. Having A or above in both Mortal and Immortal talent was something rarely seen! Even bargaining with each other about which sect to have her would definitely be a possibility because that was how much she was worth.
The three seniors from the minor sects did not look around though, squinting their eyes they kept their attention on the stages. They did not seem keen on fighting for this person, they were here as a formality for their respective sects as a sign that they were expanding and wanted to rise up. But that did not mean they had the ability to fight amongst the major sects, especially not when all four of them was interested in having Lu Yue.
Shortly after the senior from the Great Liu Sect spoke out. “Old Lu, for old friendship sakes, why do you not give me this gem?” the old man sitting to the left spoke and looked at the man in the third seat.
“Alright. I do not mind much, I did not come here to take in a personal disciple, you can have her.” the man from Flickering Light said. Without giving it another thought, people did not realize what he had just said before everyone thought it through, suddenly a shout from the audience had everyone rethink what Lu from Flickering Light had just said.
“Ai Ai! The senior from the Great Liu Sect is taking in a personal disciple!” this shout made everyone look towards the scene taking place up amongst the thrones. Apart from Flickering Light who had just announced he would not fight for Lu Yue, there was still the seniors from Cliff Immortal and Dimension.
The senior from Dimension looked at the man from the Great Liu Sect. Scratching his stubble he also spoke a short sentence. “Assure me that when I speak next, you Rali Fi, will back off, and I will gladly give you this one.”. His sentence was not spoken lightly nor harshly, neither was it a command.
His voice could be heard by all, and despite the fact that he did not seem like anything special, it occurred that the tone which he used was not as respectful as the senior from Flickering Light, but it was definitely more overbearing than the senior from the Great Liu Sect.
Rali Fi nodded and threw a small emblem towards the fourth seat. The senior from Dimension caught it and put it inside his robe, nodding and not giving it any more attention. The only one left to agree to back off was the senior sitting just beside Rali Fi.
The senior from Cliff Immortal completely ignored the small conversation that the three people around him just had, and was just wandering in his thoughts while looking at Lu Yue, who had already stepped down from the stage so that the rest few participants could test themselves.
So when his name was suddenly mentioned by Rali Fi, he could not help but give a weird look. “Ah? Rali, did you say something?” he asked Rali to recount what he said, actually the senior from Cliff Immortal was shocked by Lue Yue’s talent, not only because of how high it was.
He remembered when he had partaken in similar tests, his results were actually quite similar to Lu Yue’s, not only that, he felt her personality was very fit to be under his tutelage. Trying to remember his own talent rating back then, his eyes kept widening as he remembered the sequence.
AA, S, A, AA, A, A, AA, and BB. It was not only very similar in rating, it was precisely the same results! ‘I will offer her to become my direct disciple! To think that after so many years I can finally impart my knowledge to a new generation.’.
Getting back to reality, Rali recounted with a bit of a sour expression, he quite well knew what Cliff Immortal was thinking! “I want Lu Yue as my disciple, the others have accepted to back down, and I wanted to hear if there was a possibility that you, Zhen Gu and Cliff Immortal would back down?”.
Upon hearing the question Zhen Gu looked curiously at Old Lu and Jiang Ji to his left. “Jiang Ji, I hear that you too have been looking for a personal disciple, how come you are willing to give up on such a talent?”.
The reality was like this, Flickering Light and Great Liu Sect were good friends, the seniors present here, Rali Fi and Old Lu especially were quite acquainted with each other. As such he could only turn to Jiang Ji, not only did Zhen Gu hold great reverence for Jiang Ji, he also knew that amongst the seniors here, Jiang Ji would be able to beat them all even if they all fought him at once!
“I have already taken interest in another one of these young fellows, it would be brazen of me to shallowly think that I can just pick every talent.” Jiang Ji lamented.
To think another participant had already caught his sight? But apart from the major ones, Jiang Ji had shown no consideration at all for these, so if anyone would have been able to catch his attention, definitely Lu Yue should be the one, but even under such circumstances this was not the case.
Rali Fi gently stroked his beard and looked at the participating youths, glancing at them all once more he tried to remember the few outstanding ones, but even so, none of them were able to match his standard, so of course they would not match Jiang Ji’s as an official S ranked Immortal.
The small talk between the seniors had been noticed by the audience in the stands and the participating youths’, but since Jiang Ji had not expressed who then it was truly hard to speak of whether it could be someone better or worse than Lu Yue, since she was the one with the best talent so far.
Looking at Jiang Ji, Zhen Gu tried to follow his gaze, and after seeing where it lead him, it was obvious that this fellow was the youth that Jiang Ji wanted, but since he had not taken the test it was also too early to say if he even had any talent.
Rali Fi, Zhen Gu, and Old Lu were all understanding of one thing, Jiang Ji did not measure by the normal standards, even such that without the youth even having been tested he had already set his sights on him. What if this youth he had chosen only had subpar talent? That would truly be a waste, to let Lu Yue go due to a hunch. Since Jiang Ji had already made a choice and even made a deal with Rali Fi, Zhen Gu could only mutter and hope that Lu Yue would choose him over Rali Fi.
Now that they knew that this youth was the one that Jiang Ji had chosen, they all kept a close eye on him. Impertinent at first that not only did everyone eventually gaze him, people also began speaking about how his talent would reach the skies since Jiang Ji had already set his eyes on him.
After ten more minutes, it was finally his turn to walk up on the stage to be tested. “Group C, Yun, please come up!” the elder on the stage called his name, which awoke Yun from his wandering thoughts.
Yun nodded slightly and started moving up the stage, while this was not an arduous task, he soon noticed how he was the ONLY youth not tested yet, and that everyone here was looking at him, this feeling almost made him topple.
The pressure of being the center, what was this feeling? Never in his life had he experienced such an unfathomable feeling.
