The Strongest Demon Lord in the Modern World - Chapter 46
With a bright smile, Aziel took stood at his spot, just stepping into the terminal, gazing at these mortals, he cracked a smile, and then he followed the trio to the exit.
Meanwhile, outside of the Greytop City’s bus terminal, a small commotion was raised. Something had caught the crowd’s attention: a dark red Lamborghini Urus.
This crimson metal demoness’ worth was in the hundreds of thousands. A truly rare gem, one of the only models in the Lamborghini line that while it was combining the soul of a super sports car with a body and functionality of an SUV. It was no doubt a rare sight of luxury in the streets of Greytop City.
Still, albeit the car was undoubtedly outstanding, it still wasn’t the main cause of such a scene; it was the woman standing right in front of it.
She looked like she was in her thirties; she had a beautiful face and was wearing a black dress tailored to her curves, a formal white shirt, and a pair of high heels.
No doubt, she was from the higher echelons of society, an elite-class woman, with a considerable background.
Her dark brown, slightly slanted eyes gazed through the crowd, looking at the exit. Each time someone came out that seemed to match the person she was looking for, she clicked her tongue, growing more and more anxious after each round.
Her heels were tapping the ground, her arms were folded nervously grabbing her upper arms, clenching them tightly as if they were a pair of handlebars.
“Come on… Come on…” She muttered to herself, ignoring the crowd circling around her.
Suddenly the phone in her carry bag began to ring, breaking her mind out of the growing pits of despair, even if only momentarily. She hurriedly picked up her smartphone, looking surprised to see the caller’s ID on display before hitting accept.
“I’m sorry Sanda, I’m really not in the mood for talking right now… I…”
Before she could even finish her words, the voice on the other end unleashed a verbal storm, talking at a hurried, fast pace.
Though the woman frowned at first, as she felt it was rather impolite to not even let her finish speaking, not even a moment later, a variety of emotions flashed across her face.
From the initial shock and surprise to the confusion and the eventual happy calm, she went through it all, in a slew of a few seconds.
In the end, she reached for her chest as she heaved a sigh. Her anxiety though not completely vanished, did seem much better than just a minute ago.
“Y-you certain of this?” She asked again, begging to get confirmation.
As the person on the end of the line confirmed her question, the woman nodded.
“I see. Thank you, Sara! I will sure to bring the boys back to you! Hmm?” She asked, back as the woman on the end suddenly spoke again, even before she had a chance to finish.
A small frown appeared on her beautiful face, the more she heard from her friend.
“I see. I will check it…” Suddenly, as she looked up towards the exit, she spotted the group she was actually waiting for. She hurriedly raised her right arm and waved at them. “…I see them now! Gotta go, Sara. Don’t worry I will bring them all back to you. Once again, thanks for keeping my daughter safe for the time being!”
With that, she ended the phone and waved once more towards the group that was just leaving the stairs and was looking around. Soon they noticed her and walked over.
“M-mom? H-how… w-what are you doing here?!” As they got there, Myra, who was most shocked and surprised to see her mother wait for them, exclaimed. Her cheeks that finally started to calm down and regain their original color palette once again gathered a larger concentration of blood, making them turn bright red once more.
“Honey! I was so worried!” Ignoring her daughter’s cry, the woman hurriedly pulled her girl into her embrace, hugging and kissing the top of her head, not bothered by the trio of boys and the large crowd gathered around them.
“M-mom! S-stop it, I’m fine!” Myra tried her best to resist and squirm, albeit with futility.
The woman, Myra’s mother took her sweet time to embrace her daughter again. Despite Sara’s, Jake’s mother’s words on the phone, she couldn’t completely calm down unless she could feel her in her arms again.
Eventually, after a couple of minutes of embarrassment, Myra was finally freed from the vices of her worried mother’s vice-like embrace. She took a step back, subconsciously taking the new boy’s right side. As if by natural instinct, she felt the safest by his side, though she still couldn’t bear looking at him.
Following her daughter’s steps, Myra’s mother looked at the new, unknown boy for the first time.
He was of average height, 6′ 1″ (~185 cm) if not less, the same height as she was in her heels.
His look was… pedestrian at best, and his taste in fashion was definitely questionable. Though the clothes felt somewhat familiar as if she had seen them worn before… Strange, she thought, though she wasn’t too bothered by it.
Taking an extra moment to take in the boy’s calm, nonchalant expressive face. She turned surprised when the boy suddenly took the initiative and bowed his head.
“Greetings, Myra’s mother, it is my pleasure to meet you. My name is Aziel, I am new around these parts.” The boy politely greeted the mature woman with a gentle smile.
Lydia Martin, Myra’s mother smiled at the boy. She was very pleased with his courtesy, which was sadly, quite a rare trait nowadays.
“Pleased to meet you Aziel…” Lydia smiled at Aziel, remarking. “Have to say, you have quite the exotic-sounding name. Where do you come from, if I may ask?”
“I come from somewhere far and found myself lost in the midst of this calamity. If not for your beautiful daughter and her friends coming to my rescue, I may have suffered a great tragedy.” Aziel remade, keeping her bowed posture.
His words caused Myra’s already red cheeks to turn a shade brighter, making her the fidget in place and not know what to do with herself anymore. As for the boys standing next to them, they too were surprised by the professionally fabricated lie of Aziel, but they did not speak up against him and kept quiet.
“That is terrible Aziel!” Lydia gasped as she listened to the boy. Feeling sad for him, she asked as she felt a sympathetic, donning compassionate smile on her face. “Do you have anywhere to go? Any parents or guardians waiting for you?”
Already expecting the question, Aziel’s play didn’t falter, he donned a sad, sorrowful look as he shook his head listlessly.
“No… they… they weren’t as lucky as I was.” He said with a bit of difficulty. He looked somber, casting his eyes towards the direction of the large rope of smoke coming from the mountain. “I… am alone now.”
“Nonsense, young man!” Lydia immediately exclaimed, reaching out and pulling the boy to her generous blossom in the next instant. She wholeheartedly embraced the silver-haired handsome teen into a motherly embrace, as she hummed with a delighted tone.
“You are not alone! You will stay with us!” She exclaimed, shocking Myra and the boys.
