- Chapter 19:Li Qiang's Sh*tty Hack
“Internal Classification complete. Owner Qiang, please take a look.”
Li Qiang [Owner]
Strength: 28.3
Speed: 17.4
Inner Qi: Level 3 (76%)
Anima: Level 1 Carnage (0%)
Anima Skills: Carnage (Passive)
Techniques: Sword Basics (100%)
A blue page showed up in front of Li Qiang which had these stats on it. Li Qiang fiddled with it for a few seconds, passing his hand through it and attempting to touch it.
‘I can’t touch it.’
Li Qiang concluded this and then began reading the information.
“Owner Qiang, please know that the average being on this planet is a 1 in both Strength and Speed.”
Li Qiang was slightly disappointed with this ‘appraisal device’. Although it showed him his strength and speed relative to normal people, it wasn’t really useful otherwise. It couldn’t help him upgrade his stats and, at best, it could help him against opponents he didn’t know much about in battle.
‘What kind of sh*tty cheat is this? Being able to see my stats but not level them? Those cheat novels are lying to me.’
Li Qiang dismissed the blue page and went to the kitchen as usual, wanting to eat lunch and then resume cultivation.
“Li An! Are you up yet?”
Li Qiang shouted across the house, assuming she was done with meditating. However, he received no response. He made his way to her room and opened the door. Just like before, she was meditating on her bed. Li Qiang stood there and stared at his sister for some time. Her actions had made no sense to him. The Li An he knew would never ignore him and even more unusually, she wouldn’t be able to cultivate like this for so long. She would die of boredom!
“Codex, scan her stats.”
Li Qiang ordered the Classification Codex to do this because he wanted to know how progress she had made.
Li An
Strength: 3.3
Speed 6.4
Inner Qi: N/A
Anima: Level 2 Holy Eidolon (84%)
Anima Skills: Divine Blessing, Divine Wrath, Holy Spirit
Techniques: Sword Basics (100%)
Li Qiang was pleasantly surprised. He hadn’t expected her to be this strong after merely after a few hours of cultivation. Fortunately for Li An, it looked like she could just cultivate her Anima, instead of having to kill people like Li Qiang did.
Li Qiang didn’t bother asking Li An further about her abilities as she would tell him when she wanted to. Her stats may be dogsh*t next to Li Qiang’s, but you had to put it into perspective. Li Qiang was originally a freak of nature and had cultivated much longer than her, so it made sense for him to be much stronger than her.
Li Qiang was pleased with her progress and closed the door quietly, collecting her empty dinner plate from yesterday before leaving. Li Qiang ate quickly and then resumed cultivating. For the next 2 weeks, this cycle continued, Li Qiang making food and giving it to Li An and both of them cultivating as hard as they could for the rest of the time. Throughout this time, Li Qiang had ventured outside twice. Fortunately, it was slowly but surely recuperating after the damaging attacks from the Wraiths.
After the day a single red Wraith had appeared in each major city, no more Wraiths had appeared. Despite this peace, Li Qiang had gotten no answer from his numerous calls to his parents. He also got more and more suspicious towards Li An, who behaved completely out of character. She secluded herself in her room, meditating with no rest. However, Li Qiang was impressed with her fast improvement.
After merely 2 weeks her stats had rocketed.
Li An
Strength: 21.4
Speed 41.9
Inner Qi: N/A
Anima: Level 6 Holy Eidolon (17%)
Anima Skills: Divine Blessing, Divine Wrath, Holy Spirit, Divination, Incarnated Angel, Commandment of Slumber
Techniques: Sword Basics (100%)
Li An had gained 3 new skills as well, but he had no opportunity to question her as she ignored his attempts for conversation.
Li Qiang wasn’t slacking either and in spite of his other responsibilities like cooking and shopping, he had made even more progress than Li An.
Li Qiang [Owner]
Strength: 78.3
Speed: 47.4
Inner Qi: Level 7 (98%)
Anima: Level 1 Carnage (0%)
Anima Skills: Carnage (Passive)
Techniques: Sword Basics (100%)
Li Qiang’s strength and speed had reached godlike proportions. Especially his strength, which had increased so much he found it difficult to control. What actually bothered him was that he couldn’t improve his Anima of Carnage. Afterall he wasn’t a cold-hearted killer. He wasn’t able to just go on a killing spree, murdering innocents.
However, the thing that really bothered him was the uselessness of this strength. Essentially, Li Qiang was one of the strongest people on the planet and Li An was also one of the top few beings. However, with the disappearance of the Wraiths, there was no point. Li Qiang had no intention of world domination, so he did struggle to find a motivation to continue getting stronger. In the end, he finally pinpointed it on the Cosmos of the Coliseum and his upcoming duel.
Li Qiang was also at a critical juncture in his cultivation. His Dantian was completely full and he had broken through and filled all 7 layers. He had reached the peak of the Inner Qi 7th Realm. It was finally time for him to progress to the next stage. He read the manual Champions Form: Warrior carefully.
‘So, in order to get to the next stage, I have to lead my Inner Qi out of the Dantian and create a pathway through my meridians with my Inner QI. Isn’t this like using a battering ram to break open a gate?’
Li Qiang had some questions about how the details worked but he continued reading.
‘This next realm is called Exterior Qi Realm. Will I be able to imitate those cultivators of legend with this?’
Li Qiang was excited at the prospect. He went about his daily routine, eating and leaving his sister a portion. He went through his sword moves and calmed his mind. He took a last read of the Champions Form: Warrior to make sure he knew the process of breaking through perfectly He placed his manual in his drawers and then sat in the middle of the sports hall, as he done so many times before.
He inhaled huge amounts of air through his nose, flaring them. And then exhaling, he created a small current of air and a low rumbling sound in his chest.
Li Qiang was ready.
He stimulated his Inner QI and smashed his first meridian. A dizzying amount of pain erupted but Li Qiang was anticipating it and continued smashing the meridian. This cycle continued for what felt like an eternity.
Finally, the meridian caved in and Li Qiang started on the next one. According to the manual, Li Qiang had to break 138 meridians to complete the pathway for Champions Form: Warrior. Unbeknownst to Li Qiang, who was in deep concentration, hours passed.
Then days.
Then weeks.
Finally, Li Qing smashed the final meridian. In this moment, he experienced a blissful feeling and his body trembled in relief. His Inner Qi filled his meridian path and Li Qiang felt power fill his body to the brim.
Li Qiang had broken through.
