- Chapter 28:Growth across the Lands
In North China, he faced very little opposition, the little being the vestiges of the Holy Order organization. He sent the newly formed Platinum Squad, under Yang Xiaobo, to wipe them out and provide experience for the newly formed team.
Peng Jianguo, with almost half of China’s Knights at his command, was incredibly efficient, helping Qi Ru develop the governmental system, creating the new educational system and putting almost 95% of individuals over 18 in all of Northern China to some kind of work, only leaving out the sick, elderly or pregnant. This might have caused outrage pre-Apocalypse, but unfortunately for them, social media was no longer available, with the global internet down. The reason that there were so few people unable to work, merely 5%, was because many of them had died during the Wraith and White Demon attacks, being much slower and weaker than others.
Qi Ru had also lived up to Li Qiang’s expectations and actually created an entire plan, albeit rough plan, for a new governmental system! In his new plan lay a hierarchy, with Li Qiang at the top. Under him, would exist 4 Ministers, one of them being Qi Ru. Under the Minister would be the Head of the Provinces, one of them being Peng Jianguo, and the 5 Captains, which Yang Xiaobo would lead. Under them, would exist the Mayors. According to Qi Ru’s plan, there would be many Mayors, mainly being Knights, and their purpose was to ‘rule’ over a land. This land could be big, but in return it would not be a developed land, mainly full of smaller towns and villages. However, a Mayor could also rule over a smaller land, but it would be full in infrastructure and history, like Beijing. The purpose of the Mayors were essentially powerful policemen.
They would make sure that law was followed within their land and that development plans were proceeding. One could go down further the hierarchal system, but that was the backbone of it.Li Qiang throughout this time was very secluded, only coming out of cultivation to call another council meeting or to find out how things were proceeding.
Because of his diligence and hard-work, and because of his levelled-up Carnage, his power rose quickly.
Li Qiang [Owner]
Strength: 267.4
Speed: 189.2
Exterior Qi: Level 3 (28%)
Anima: Level 2 Carnage (46%)
Anima Skills: Carnage (Passive)
Techniques: Sword Basics (100%)
His strength and speed hadn’t taken a huge rise but his control over his Exterior Qi rose, along with the Exterior Qi’s volume. Because of this, he was creating new Qi techniques every other day. For example, he experimented with his Qi and then find out that he could allow his Qi to rest on his skin. With that, he made his Qi harden and become flexible and then he created Qi-Armour.
It had been about 3 and a half months since he last fought a Wraith and according to Yang Xiaobo and the rest, it would be another 15 days until he fought another one. At the beginning, the Wraiths would emerge from Portals every other day, in random locations within populated areas. However, they were surrounded and picked off easily. After a month or so, the White Demons appeared. With them came another horde of Wraiths, ravaging many cities and lands before finally being killed. Since then, every first day of a month had been feared.
They would spill out in their hundreds, led by the White Demons, across the country, wreaking havoc.
In preparation of this Li Qiang had awakened 150 Knights, with the Anima Cube, and had sent them to their respective divisions, whether it be Elemental or Combat. He also used the old method of awakening Anima, awakening another 100 or so Knights. For the old method, you would have to train as a martial artist until your body reached an extremely high level. Then, using several expensive ingredients and mixtures, you would ingest a pill which would give you agony for hours on end, before finally, your Anima awoke.
In comparison the Anima Cube was much simpler and more painless. On the other hand, the old method produced much more competent Knights, as they had undergone many more tribulations and were more mature and experienced.
All in all, things were proceeding smoothly in the Sword of Carnage. Their ranks were ballooning by the day and thanks to Li Qiang’s Sword Manual, they could all be immediate masters of the sword. The 5 Squads had reached up to about 30 members each, all of them being combat-focused Knights.
Li Qiang had also thought of creating another elite Squad, completely comprised of Qi-Users. He would gather the most talented youths from China and have them all train in the Champions Form: Warrior. However, this remained an idea as Li Qiang thought it would be best to do it after they had created the Knight Universities.
Li Qiang, on the 16th of December, decided to ‘visit’ the other Knights groups in China.
