- Chapter 30:The White Crane Sect
Li Qiang moved so fast that sonic booms sounded behind him. His clothes would have spit already due to the incredible air pressure, but they were custom-made for him out of optimum fibre stands of high-tech material. He had ordered a few sets of them to be as soon as he assumed leadership of the Sword of Carnage.
As Li Qiang streaked across the night sky, he passed a few cities. The Black Flames Warriors had settled near Chengdu, and the White Crane Sect had settled near Nanning, so he saw Bijie, Luzhou and Guiyang on the way there. Contrary to his expectations, they weren’t in complete ruin. He spotted some people moving around, and in Guiyang the buildings were almost completely undamaged.
He saw white flags with a crane embroidered on it all over the city, which meant that the White Crane Sect had control of Guiyang.Soon, Li Qiang was in Nanning. He looked down on the huge city, searching for the most impressive looking building. According to Qi Ru, the Sect Leader of the White Crane Sect was named Zhou Xiaofan. Her Anima was very unique and with it, she had overcome, her weaker strength as a woman and established her own force. The specific details were unknown, but apparently, she was able to summon White Cranes to fight for her, hence the name of the Sect.
The sky was pitch-black, and Nanning was silent.
The streetlamps illuminated the roads. Li Qiang found the White Crane Pavilion very fast. It was extremely conspicuous, right in the centre of the city, with huge white lettering on a massive gate.
“Zhou Xiaofan loves web novels.”
Li Qiang could only conclude this when looking at the layout of the buildings. The centre of the city had been completely levelled and had been replaced with rough earth and greenery. The buildings were looked ancient and elegant and, in the distance, Li Qiang saw an artificial mountain! Li Qiang dashed across the White Crane Pavilion, trying to find Zhou Xiaofan’s living quarters.
It was very late at night and, with his enhanced hearing, he heard the gentle sound of snoring. The White Crane Sect were extremely lax with their security, perhaps because they were all super-powered individuals.
Li Qiang arrived before the ‘mountain’.
Up close, it was a lot bigger than he had thought. Apart from the fact that it was surrounded by an urban area, it was looked completely natural. Colourful trees adorned it and at the top of the mountain, Li Qiang saw the Sect Leader’s cave.Shaking his head at this extreme obsession with the mystical cultivators of the past, Li Qiang shot up the mountain, passing many caves. Li Qiang arrived outside the cave. Engraved on the rock wall above the cave read “Sect Leader’s Cave”.
Li Qiang stomped down hard, making a huge booming sound. With this, not only would he wake up Zhou Xiaofan, but he would make an impression. As he expected, a flurry of movement occurred across the mountain.
After a few moments, a fully dressed woman came running out of her cave, sword in hand. She was incredibly beautiful, worthy to be the only female powerhouse in China. Li Qiang spared a moment to be impressed by her insanely fast changing speed.
Seeing Li Qiang, Zhou Xiaofan stopped about 5 meters away from him, wary.
“Who are you? Why are you on the White Crane Mountain?”
“My name is King Qiang.”
“Are you the leader of the new group in the North?”
Li Qiang nodded.
“You can call me King Qiang.”
Zhou Xiaofan sneered.
“You are not my King, so you will be Mr. Qiang to me.”
For those back-stabbing rats in the Black Flame Warriors, he would have killed them for such words. However, Zhou Xiaofan was, by all accounts, a very kind person. Her only questionable feature was her infatuation with web novels.
Li Qiang continued.
“Zhou Xiaofan. You have 2 choices. Be under me or I will force you to be under me by force.”
Strangely, Zhou Xiaofan’s face reddened and then Li Qiang realised his odd phrasing. In order to cover up his mistake, he blustered on.
“Zhou Xiaofan, my Sword of Carnage would greatly benefit with your White Crane Sect adopted under its wing. We wouldn’t attempt to usurp your control or destroy you lands. However, China must be mine and so, Zhou Xiaofan, you and the White Crane Sect must also be mine.”
Zhou Xiaofan also dismissed Li Qiang’s weird phrasing.
“Li Qiang, you might be strong, but you can’t be that strong. Why would I accept your proposal when I can fight you off, and if not just by myself, hundreds of my allies are on this mountain. You stand no chance!”
Li Qiang was waiting for this moment.Wordlessly, he drew his sword. Zhou Xiaofan’s eyes narrowed at this.
Facing away from Zhou Xiaofan, he looked at the sky. It was a cloudy night, yet there were no signs of rain.A wondrous idea of showing strength sprang into his mind.He grinned at the thought, a savage smile with a tint of madness.
Li Qiang inhaled deeply. A breeze brushed through the trees of the mountain. He drove his legs into the ground stabilizing his huge form and tensing his thighs. He assumed a striking stance, his sword reaching across his waist and scraping the ground. He gathered his Qi and imbued his sword with it, giving it a red glow.
He activated his Air of Carnage, striking a mystical image in Zhou Xiaofan’s mind. A gigantic man, rippling with muscle, with a red sword and a red aura and a savage smile. Li Qiang had no idea how much that image would impact her mind.
Li Qiang moved.
He exhaled with a shout and swept his sword across the air, realising a heaven-shaking attack. Force waves exploded from his position and the mountain rumbled in dissatisfaction.
The clouds split.
Li Qiang smiled at the sight.
Li Qiang’s attack had actually split the sky! His strength and Qi had reached such a ridiculous level that he could split a sea of clouds with one strike!
Unbeknownst to him, almost 5 other members of the White Crane Sect had witnessed this awe-inspiring feat of power. They had all woken up and rushed towards Zhou Xiaofan’s Cave after Li Qiang’s loud stomp.
The mountain stopped groaning and silence echoed across the White Sect Pavilion.
