Swoosh!
A dark, almost sinister aura began to emanate from Bai Lung as he disappeared from sight.
“The fools have no idea what they are up against…” Bai Lung said recalling the protagonist, especially Mu Chen whose luck has increased significantly.
It’s obvious, that Mu Chen must have met someone or encountered some adventure which increased his luck value.
Bai Lung’s cold, calculating gaze surveyed his surroundings as he reappeared in the shadows of an alleyway of a nearby place.
His lips curled into a sardonic smile. This so-called Ironforge…it may prove a suitable place to lay low for now.
But make no mistake, he is merely biding his time to recover his strength. The Tome has almost depleted his Qi pool, and Lightning tribulation has damaged his body.
Bai Lung can’t trust Saintess nor her mother, in order to return back to the sect, at the moment… He is completely dead meat.
Hiding is the best choice compared to versa.
—
He reached into his robes, withdrawing a small vial filled with a swirling, crimson liquid.
This should provide sufficient power to keep him functioning.
Gulp! ( drinks in a single go )
Immediately, Bai Lung could feel the Dark Qi surging through his veins, empowering him.
His eyes narrowed as a wave of ruthless focus washed over him.
Tucking the empty vial back into his robes, he melted back into the shadows, his movements fluid and predatory.
…
He appeared in front of a small building, made out of wood.
His eyes glinted with a deep red aura as his demonic pupil was activated on its own… Instantly igniting the wooden house to fire.
“Who dares courts death…”
In an instant, a stern looking elder man, came out of the wooden house, donned in a white fairy robe, free from all dust and germs.
His eyes narrowed as he scanned the Young Man in front of him, who looked energyless and helpless.
Judging from the clothes Bai Lung was wearing, he guessed this Young man must be from a powerful family.
“You dare trespass on my humble abode and defile it with your dark sorcery, boy,”
The elder growled, his voice low and gravelly.
“Do you have any idea who you are dealing with?”
Bai Lung merely leveled the elder with an impassive stare, his own eyes glinting with ruthless calculation.

“Hmm… I know exactly who you are, old man. Or should I say…Xiao Feng, the notorious swindler who’s been evading the Imperial Guard for the past decade,”
A flicker of alarm flashed across the elder’s features, quickly masked by a sardonic chuckle.
“I see my reputation precedes me. And what of it? Are you here to apprehend me, little boy? Good! Very good! Nowadays even calf dreams of hunting lions…
What are you gonna do? bring the might of the law crashing down upon my head?… Don’t make me laugh,”
He took a step forward, his weathered features twisting into a menacing scowl.
“I’ve evaded capture for years, and I won’t be taken down by some upstart whelp playing at being a hero,”
From the looks of it, it’s clear this elder is some kind of criminal, hiding from the law force of the emperor, while also misunderstanding that Bai Lung was here to capture him.
—
Bai Lung’s lips curled into a humorless smile.
“Hero? Don’t make me laugh. I have no interest in your petty crimes or the machinations of the Imperial Guard. In fact, I find your situation…rather intriguing,”
He raised a hand, allowing the Dark Qi to crackle across his fingertips, casting an ominous glow over his features.
“What if I were to offer you a…deal? One that could ensure your continued freedom and provide you with a measure of power that you’ve never known?” Bai Lung’s voice was velvet-smooth, dripping with enticing promise, a captivating, hypnotizing words.
The elder’s eyes narrowed, his expression torn between skepticism and growing intrigue.
“Power, you say? The kind that could help me evade the endless pursuit of those self-righteous fools in the Imperial Guard?… Junior seems to think the sky is under his palm, don’t you know you shouldn’t dream with open eyes,”
Bai Lung nodded, his gaze never wavering.
“Precisely, the wise words were never spoken before, however, I sense a…kindred spirit in you, senior Xiao Feng. An outcast, someone who has tasted the bitter sting of injustice and betrayal.
If senior wishes, together, we could forge a new path – one that allows us to rise above the petty machinations of society, morality,”
He extended his hand, the Dark Qi flickering around his fingers like tendrils of crimson lightning.
“All I ask in return is your loyalty. Join me, and I will grant you the means to escape this wretched existence forever,”
Xiao Feng studied the young man’s face, searching for any sign of deception.
But all he saw was an unwavering determination, a hunger for power that mirrored his own.
Slowly, a sly grin spread across the elder’s weathered features.
“You drive a hard bargain, boy. But I must say, I’m intrigued…” He clasped Bai Lung’s hand, sealing their unholy pact.
“Get in… Let’s have a chat,” The elder said, the next instance the time around the brunt house began to reverse, recovering the building to its initial condition.
“I am quite surprised, you managed to destroy the array I have casted… You must be someone special,”
Elder said, as they went inside.
Sitting in a wooden chair, Elder poured two cups of wine.

[ It’s free from poison… it is a powerful wine ]
“So, Young Master… How do you plan to help me? I have been staying low for hundreds of years, I am quite shocked a raw brat knows me,” Elder raised an eyebrow.
Meanwhile, Bai Lung’s eyes were bleeding… His breath was getting heavier and heavier.
“Hoho… Junior possesses a demonic pupil, how interesting,” Elder uttered while he sipped the wine.
“Demonic pupil feeds on soul of people… From the book of your demonic eyes, it’s clear Junior hasn’t even killed 10 people,” Elder’s voice turned cold.
The room felt oppressive. It’s only natural to feel scammed, at such situation.
