The Summoner And Contractor System - Chapter 4 System Interface
Sitting on his bed in a meditative position and closing his eyes which blazed with fervent passion, all of his will and concentration was focused on opening the system interface, ‘Wilhelm, open the main system interface.’
[Right away, Lil’ Bro.]

Rentaro was shocked after seeing the abilities he had, ‘Wilhelm, how comes I didn’t feel anything strange even though I had all these different abilities?’
[Lil’ Bro, these abilities and innate talents became a part of you as your body reconstructed and I was binded by your soul. You didn’t feel anything different as the current ranks of your abilities and talents are at their lowest. As for ranks, Novice is the lowest, followed by Apprentice, Adept, Expert, and Master. Any stage beyond Master is out of our current qualifications to know about.]
[Elemental Sensory, for example, is only at the novice rank and you’ll only feel its abilities after repeated deep meditation as you slowly connect to the elements and increase its rank. As for Summoner and Paktierer, they are talents which will gradually increase in rank as you use them and understand how they function. Naturally, you’ll gain more abilities as you progress and practice in the future]
Wilhelm gave a brief introduction to the innate talents, abilities, and ranking system, expanding Rentaro’s basic knowledge about the system, while moving on to explain the other functions. [Lil’ Bro, the shop isn’t of much use for you now. You’ll need to earn Syndicate Credits by doing missions and achieving extraordinary feats if you wish to buy anything from it in the future.]
[Random Summoning requires Spatial Credits, another form of credit which is acquired from the same manner as Syndicate Credits. Summoning has different tiers; Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic. Summons have extraordinary potential and with enough luck and resources, even a Common tier can one day become a Mythic. Any tiers above Mythic are unknown.]
[We’ve already discussed Direct Summoning, it works in pretty much the same manner as Random Summoning, but where you can directly link to a summon you choose. I’ll tell you in the future if there’s a resource nearby suitable to initiate a Direct Summon.]
[The Mission tab offers a variety of quests for you to take, the quests are automatically active at all times. Quests are added whenever something pops up and you just so happen to be around and get involved, which happens quite a bit in the cultivation world. Each quest offers corresponding rewards in terms of difficulty for you. The difficulty ranks are ‘Simple,’ ‘Intermediate,’ ‘Difficult,’ ‘Advanced,’ and ‘Against All Odds’. ]
‘Alright, open the mission tab.’

[Missions]
[First Summoning] [Simple] – A summoners first summoning is the most important event in their life. Your summon is your life partner, a companion who will fight alongside you and take your side no matter what decisions you make.
[Rewards] [1500 of one credit type or 750 of each] [Elemental affinity increased depending on the summon’s affinity] [Innate Talent – Spirit Whisper – Allows one to initiate a mental conversation with spirits of all types.]
[First Contract] [Simple] – The first contract is imprinted deeply into a person’s core, their soul. The summoner and summon must swear an oath and link their lives together. Relying on one another, living together, dying together. All hardships in life are tackled together.
[Rewards] [1500 of one credit type or 750 of each] [Elemental Essence Gourd – A gourd filled with an elemental essence, perfect for improving a summon’s grade. Essence type varied on first contracted summon’s elemental affinity.]
[Elemental Sensory Upgrade] [Intermediate] – Upgrade Elemental Sensory’s rank to Apprentice 1.
[Rewards] [2000 credits of one credit type or 1000 of each] [Elemental Sensory evolves into an enhanced perceptive skill.]

‘Wilhelm, how many credits does random summoning take and what is the usual price of store items? The mission gives 5,000 credits out from the first three missions alone.’ Rentaro questioned, his interests peaked after seeing the constant credit rewards.
[If you choose to do a Random Tier Summoning, it will cost 5000 Spatial Credits. However, the majority of summons from that are commons, uncommons, and the occasional rares. Epic, legendary, and mythic tiers are virtually impossible to be summoned. If you wish to do a Random Summoning for a specific tier, the cost is as follows; Rare – 10,000 SC, Epic – 30,000 SC, Legendary – 60,000 SC, Mythic – 100,000 SC.]
[The shop has items of varied costs. Some items even reach above a Mythic Summon’s cost. Naturally, most items are priced according to tier, the same as with the Random Summoning, but with Syndicate Credits. Thus, the 5,000 credits you’ll be getting aren’t really that much, you also have to choose if you want to split them into the two currency types or put them all into one type.]
‘If the Random Summoning and Shop cost that much for items, how will I ever be able to purchase anything?’ Rentaro sighed, clearly feeling down after seeing the prices of items and summonings in comparison to the amount of credits he’ll get from three missions.
[Don’t worry, Lil’ Bro. These quests right now are Easy difficulty, with one intermediate. As you continue to do missions and progress, you’ll stack up more and more credits. Besides that, think about the tiers of the summons and items, even the strongest beings of the Perpetual Realm would desire items at the Legendary tier, let alone the Mythic tier.] Wilhelm encouraged Rentaro, pointing out that the items and summons were beyond ordinary in their realm.
[Also, you have yet to check out the inventory. You’ve checked out all the other functions for the most part, so I’ll give a brief explanation. The inventory space allows you to store items you’ve purchased from the system shop or items gathered in the outside world in the system pocket dimension. There’s also a space for your summons to live, you yourself cannot enter the space physically yet, but you can enter it mentally. You can summon the items at any time you need just by willing the inventory space to open.
Slowly boiling in excitement thanks to Wilhelm’s speech, ‘Alright, Big Bro, let’s open up the inventory.’
As Rentaro willed it, the system inventory immediately opened. Immediately, he saw an automated system notification pop up.
[System Welcome Gift] [Open?] [Yes] [No]
“Open!” Rentaro fervently yelled out in excitement.
Laughing, Wilhelm reminded, [Pshh, think it, don’t shout aloud even if it works either way. Else everyone will think you’re crazy!]
Not heeding Wilhelm’s words, Rentaro watched as the system notifications continued to pop up.
[5,000 Syndicate Credits received]
[5,000 Spatial Credits received]
[Soul’s Calling – Exclusive summoning, birthing an unidentified creature into the plane of existence from the user’s soul and inner-characteristics.]
Seeing the gift, Wilhelm spoke out in amazement, [Host, the Soul’s Calling is in a tier of its own. Practically nothing can compare to it in value. Soul’s Calling is able to bring a creature into existence, creating a new life and soul based on your deepest emotions and characteristics even you are ignorant of. The existence of this item rivals even my own, as I only exist in the form of a system and don’t have a physical body.]
While Rentaro was able to calm down from the excitement, Wilhelm continued to ramble, clearly seething with more excitement than even Rentaro. Wilhelm couldn’t be blamed however, Rentaro had yet to live in the cultivation realm and lacked the amount of knowledge that Wilhelm had.
[Wilhelm’s Gift] [Open?] [Yes] [No]
‘Alright, I’ll have to check it out later. System, open Wilhelm’s gift!’
[Summoner Robe – Uncommon Tier received]
[Summoning Grimoire of Twileigh – Rare Tier [Sealed] received]
Opening Wilhelm’s gift, Rentaro felt a wave of warmth pass over his body. His eyes slightly reddened as he teared up, never having felt such an emotion of happiness and closure before.
Coughing awkwardly and his voice trembling a little bit, [Ahem, go ahead and try it on. I’ll add a reflection of your appearance to the stats function.]
Getting up from his meditation, Rentaro replaced his red clothing with the blue summoner robe, giving off a clashing aura between his scholar-like clothing and short, spiked black hair. His eyes were light-blue and gave off a comforting feeling to all who looked him in the eye. His left hand held the grimoire and he smiled, revealing a look of determination for what his new life had to bring next.
