The Supreme Sage - Chapter 11
After having a hearty meal, and spending a total of 27 copper on it in total, Luke returned to his room.
In the Gamin continent, It was extremely surprising that all nations used the same currency. The smallest denomination was copper, worth about half a loaf of bread. 50 copper made 1 bronze, worth about a good amount of food for 6 people. 15 bronze made a silver, and 20 silver made a gold. There was a higher denomination as well, however, that was only used by nobles and large merchant tycoons.
Back in his room, Luke went into studying Beginner Fire Spells.
This took him almost 7 hours to fully comprehend.

Once he got this skill, he collapsed into a deep sleep.
The next morning Luke was awoken by both Harlem and Gard waiting in his room. This was their usual routine. The first two to wake up would enter and wake up the sleepy head, and most of the time, the target was Luke.
Not only Lucas, But Luke himself was also not much of a Morning person and hated being woken up.
However, upon seeing the exited faces of both his friends, Luke decided to ignore this disruption of personal space and got straight to the point.
“What happened?”
“Nothing much. Today is our first day of freedom! We want to have some fun!” said Harlem.
“Yes, yes.” Echoed Gard.
“Huh? You want to do something fun? Earn some money first! Said Luke after realising the situation. Although he didn’t want to be ‘that’ guy, someone had to burst Harlem and Gards’ bubbles. If they decided that is was all happy ever after, then within a month or two their money would be exhausted and they would be back on the streets, easy pickings for slave traders once more.
The only way to stop this from happening was to make them find a job, and follow through on it.
“Tell me, what occupation do you want to be in?”
After thinking for a while, Harlem said, “Adventurer! I always wanted to be one of those free souls exploring the continent!”
“Me too!” repeated Gard.
“Then did you decide on your pathway?”
“Yes! I will be a Warrior!”
“Me too!” continued Gard.
At this point, Luke interjected, “Gard, you be the Priest pathway’s Paladin. That way, you can save you team members when they are in danger by both healing them and physically protecting them!”
“Harlem, you be the Berserker from the Warrior pathway. You can make full use of your build” continued Luke after some contemplation over his choice of words.
Hearing this, Harlem and Gard looked at each other and asked in unison, “What are those?”
Luke was suddenly taken aback before realising that specialisations were initially secret knowledge. Only once the players came about did this knowledge begin to spread to the masses.
“This is a secret alright? I will need you guys to become as strong as possible as quickly as possible. Harlem, I will need you to go to the Roland Theocracy and join their army. Then I need you to train yourself and become a Berserker at least in the next 3 months. Gard, I need you to go to the Holy Kingdom of Islesat and join the church’s army and advance to at least a Light Paladin.”
Both of these were Specialisations given at level 20. Three months was actually a rather long time for level 20, however, considering that they did not have a system, nor were they immortal players who could play non-stop for days, Luke decided to give them some time to grow.
Yesterday in the bar, he had overheard a lot of conversations, among which, two caught his attention. One was a testimony of a drunkard whose wife and child were killed by a two headed animal. This resulted in his mission completion increasing to 3/12.
The second was a piece of news about a possible war between Roland, Islesat, and Leon. This resulted in a Hidden Quest!

Hidden Quest- Spies
Rumors about an impending war are being spread throughout the Gamin continent. You must find out if this is accurate or not.
Task 1: Send your trusted aides to both Roland and Islesat
-Completed-
Completion Rank- S
Completion reward- 100 exp
Bonus reward- Skill Beginner Espionage
===================
Completion Rank shows the extent to which the mission has been completed, with anything above C rank as a pass, and S rank gives a bonus reward.
Luke knew this, but what confused him was the fact that he got and S rank. He only sent two people, and it was impossible for this simple task to receive S rank, unless one of them, or both of them would grow to become extremely important members of those specific factions, allowing him to gain incredibly top secret information?!
This deduction alarmed Luke, and caused him to change his plans, but he did not express it. Instead, he simply continued.
“I need you to go to those nations and become strong. Strong to protect each other. Let me tell you some important information. The entire continent might be engulfed in the flames of war in a few years. This will result in many children being orphaned, and even more children being forced into slavery.”
This was like a critical hit to Harlem, who always persevered for justice. She couldn’t bear to see another child put in harms way like herself, Gard, Lucas, or that girl in the slave market.
“I am trying to devise a plan to stop this, or at least reduce the backlash of it. However, I need you guys to be separated from each other for a long time. I need you guys to keep my updated on the situation in your respective country every month.”
Seeing the grave expressions on Gard and Harlem, Luke decided to add in some of his own benefits.
“I will also require you to send me advancement knowledge on anything you can get your hands on. That is, once you have enough spare cash to buy them.”
Although he could buy most beginner knowledge within Leon, the stronger specialisation pathways could not all be found in Leon. For example, you may find a few specialisation knowledges and intermediate skills by doing certain hidden quests, or by requesting it from certain hidden masters. However, you could simply find all the required knowledge from a kingdom specializing in that pathway. For example the Roland Theocracy had all the knowledge on Warriors and most knowledge on Hunters, while the Holy Kingdom of Islesat had the complete knowledge on Priest and most on mechanic. The Leon Kingdom had a most of the knowledge on Magicians.
Naturally, complete knowledge referred to all the knowledge up to level 79. Level 80 and onwards was not something the characters, nor the players had a grasp of on any server. Only once one left their current planet to explore other planets, would more knowledge become available.
This would all happen in the Early stage of the 3rd version where people would get to explore other planets through teleportation gate designed by the combined efforts of Mechanics and Magicians. Therefore the 3rd Version was known as the Age of Exploration, while the Second Version was called Chaos on Pangea.
In the 2nd Version, All the servers would meet due to some unknown factors, later found out by a few players to be act of a single peak level 79 Grand mage’s doing, who specialized in space magic. He had singlehandedly, distorted the thousands of kilometers of sea between each continent to about a 50 kilometers. The reason for him doing this are still unknown, since he died in the process, leaving no trace behind except a letter.
This distortion of space caused massive upheavals in the sentiments of both the players and the NPCs. The players were regretful for not taking Magician as a character, while the NPCs were worried about one thing. War! An inevitable conclusion when you bring two regions, with different powers ruling over them, together; thereby creating chaos.
The First Version was called different things, since each of the different continents had different plotlines.
However, accumulating knowledge from all pathways was part of Luke long run plan. Therefore, he had asked both the two of them to collect information, and knowledge for him.
Naturally, Gard wasn’t willing to separate from Harlem, but seeing the resolute look on her face, he could only suppress his emotions and give up.
Luke wasn’t the least bit bothered by this, since they were complete strangers to him. They had only been together for about a week, and it was not like he was putting them in any danger right? Instead, they would be far safer in the other two large countries, who are bound to win the war.
This excuse had satisfied even the remnant Lucas’ will inside his body.
