The Supreme Sage - Chapter 28
After the initial commotion caused by The Sages quest, public interest in this character died down and the four pro-players were finally allowed to leave.
OriginalMagus said after thinking for a while,
“The quest requires us to form a party and move together. But the problem is, who will be the party leader?”
This question stumped everyone present. Each of them was not only the leader of their own pro-gamer teams, but also the main supported of the guild. Most MMORPGs where they had accounts, the groups supporting them would organise a guild under their name to be able to procure any items, or spots in events required by the pro-gamers.
This was done to reduce the workload on the gamers themselves, and have others work for them. On the other hand, the guild itself was made up of permanent members, and fans. The latter occupying nearly 80% of the guild, and their sole reason for being in the guild is due to the existence called the pro-gamer team.
Therefore, they were each leaders, and could not come up with a solution to the dilemma called ‘ego’.
Suddenly, WeedGod spoke, in his unnaturally stiff voice,
“The party leader can give up his role after inviting everyone.”
WeedGod was an Indian player, who rarely spoke. And what he spoke was generally extremely short and concise.
OriginalMagus, Also from India, and SaintessKatrina, from Maldives, and SwordSlasher, from Nepal, also agreed to this idea.
OriginalMagus then invited all the others, before immediately giving up his leader position. This would not remove the leader role completely from the party, but leave it up for grabs until someone decided to take the spot.
With this episode out of the way, the group decided to take the currently available fastest mode of transport to the nearest city, that was Noland, around a day’s journey by carriage to the north.
They had also come to the agreement to take turns logging off while in the carriage, taking 10 minute breaks, real life, to be able to relieve themselves, and then have a few snacks.
Once they got onto the carriage, OriginalMagus, and WeedGod logged off together, leaving SwordSlasher, and SaintessKatrina aloe in the silent carriage.
In the real world, Raj, aka, OriginalMagus, opened his eyes inside the Game-capsule, and removed the helmet as he exited the capsule.
All eyes turned to him as he quickly said, “I’m in a carriage drive with those other 3. We are currently together in a party, and are going somewhere. I have 10 minutes to get ready. Once we reach the city and get on the train, I will have another 10 minutes. Get me some food, I am going to the bathroom.”
With this, he rushed to the bathroom, completely oblivious that he was wearing the game capsule latex onesie, made by the game company t protect players from possible malfunctions.
A few seconds later, a horrified scream came from the bathroom, “F*********CK!!”
After their 10 minute break, followed by SaintessKatrina and SwordSlasher, the carriage driver stopped for the night due to the lack of illumination on the poorly maintained road.
Instead, they found a relatively open spot and decided to camp outside, since the weather only permitted it to rain and snow by the end of the year, while currently it was only the mid-year summer.
While around the campfire, the group began chatting.
“What is up with the letter anyway? I can’t open it no matter how hard I try!”
Luke had indeed spend quite some energy on creating this letter. The Magician pathway sis not need many resources or money, what it needed was time; completely contrary to the mechanic class. Luke had expended nearly 80% of his current energy pool to create an encryption, only to be opened by Barton’s energy, and a defence spell that nearly multiplied the defence of the thin paper to that equal to a thick metal sheet!
“I tried to tear it open, but it didn’t budge!”
“It must be something important to the sage. I wonder what he has written?”
“Sigh, we can only know after completing the mission.”
The 4 four of them spent some more time to idly chat before going to sleep.
At this moment, Luke was also in the middle of a journey. He was going to a city called Dorgan, to the west of Broda, about a two-day journey.
However, he didn’t intend on using a carriage. Instead, he had his own mode of transportation.
Below level 80, Mages could not use long distance teleportation to move between places.
Therefore, the players had come up with many designs, and Luke had built a prototype by copying one such design. Naturally, many things were different, since creating n item in-game, and now were completely different.
In the game, all you had to do was draw up a plan and wait for the game system to calibrate its stats to prevent overpowered creations from existing and maintaining balance.
Then you had to create it using the blueprint. Only difference to now being, that each part could be created in 1 or 2 steps.
Now, he had to physically create each part. As a mage, he did not need heat sources. He could just head and mould the material using Fire Magic.
This way, he had successfully create a two-wheeler that looked like it came right out of the incredibly old movie Tron: Legacy.
Most of its body was matte black, with a few glowing orange strips along its sides. Its wheels were incredibly wide, yet somehow were able to turn, and it could reach a max speed of around 120 km/h. Its suspension was godly since the wheels were held in place using next-gen superconductors which used ‘energy’ as fuel.
The only downside was that is used quite a bit of energy, and Luke did not have enough money, nor enough authority to buy an energy source.
Therefore, it used the user’s energy as fuel for both the engine, and the levitation of the wheels. With Luke’s current energy reserves, he could easily travel on the bike for a day or two on constant usage.
Luke had left Broda almost an hour ago, and would soon reach his destination in a few minutes, since he was not travelling at max speed.
At this moment, he faintly noticed something. It was very faint, but as a mage he could easily feel it. It was a very faint lingering presence of energy, and an incredibly potent energy. This faint wisp of energy that should have been left behind a few hours ago was still this strong.
Just thinking about the monstrous level the creature sent shivers down Luke’s spine.
However, there was something else added into the wisp of energy. It was blood!
At this moment, a notification popped up on Luke’s interface.
