The Sword and The Dress - V4Chapter 9
The Sword and The Dress (Volume 4) – Chapter 9

“But I’m still alive, right?”
I can’t move one of my arms, but all things considered, I’m fine.
“I’m not going anywhere so please let me go for now.”
He calmed down but he was trembling a bit so I wanted to hug him. However, he still didn’t seem to have any intention of letting me go.
“…No, I don’t want to.”
“Mm, but you have to let go for now.”
“I don’t want to go back!” Captain suddenly yelled. Uh… Uhm…
“You don’t want to go back?”
“…I don’t want to.”
Then, that’s going to be a problem. The idea of the Captain of the Special Task Squad running away would create chaos. Well, even if the Captain became a wanted man, it wouldn’t be difficult for him to hide; however, a life on the run certainly isn’t going to be fun.
“Why don’t you want to go back?” I asked.
If I know the reason why, I may be able to talk him out of it. However, faced with my question, he answered with a furious voice as if he had finally spat out everything he had been bottling up inside.
“I don’t want to lose Roel again!”
“I won’t do anything dangerous from now on.”
“I thought it was fine to let you go, but it’s not. I don’t want anyone else around you! I don’t want you looking at other people. Everyone who comes near you… I’ll kill them all.”
The last words were spoken as he gnashed his teeth. ‘Kill them all,’ he says. If he kills the High Priest, it will definitely cause a big mess. Besides, he’s not just someone who could be easily killed.
This kind of puts me in a pickle. What should I do?
“But you always say that it’s okay because I like you the most.”
“ …Still, I don’t want them near you. I get so anxious. I hate it. I thought I’d be fine if you just let me stay by your side, even if you choose someone else. I thought I’d be able to stand it…” He said as he choked back his feelings, making his words unclear.
Is this happening because he thought he had almost lost me? I raised my hand and patted Captain’s hand which lay on my chest.
“I get why you’re anxious. I was like that too. Jullius.”
I unclasped his hands, grabbed his arms, and gently removed them. Those arms that had been hugging me tightly this whole time hesitantly lowered. I took a step forward and turned to him. He wasn’t crying, but his eyes were red with a trace of fear lingering in them.
“Then, should we just go?”
“…What?”
“Let’s go to a place where no one else is. We can go to a deserted mountain or forest, or we can just go to a foreign country.”
We’ll live a life on the run. We’ll run far away and stay away from the public eye. The two of us can make a living wherever we go. Though we don’t have much money, we can hunt and sell wild animals and beasts, or we can find bandits and rob them. It would be difficult to live like we used to, but it’s not like we would die.
Unlike how he had been before, Captain suddenly lost his fervor. No, I suppose I should say that he was back to normal.
“But if we run away like that…”
“It’s fine, right?”
“…It’s fine by me, but Roel has precious people to leave behind…”
“Ah yes, I’ll get a bit worried about those people I’ll leave behind—but it doesn’t matter. They’re not kids anymore. They should be able to live on their own without me.”
There’s no one I have to worry about. Sophia might freak out but it’s not like she doesn’t have the ability to live on her own.
“How about you, Jullius? Are you sure it’s okay for you to leave? Haven’t you known Clauen since you were young? And aren’t you pretty close to Ortzen?”
He also seems to get along quite well with the other members of the Special Task Squad. Then there’s also General Herva, his godfather, who he seemed to be on good terms with. Hearing my questions, he tilted his head.
“…I’m okay as long as I have Roel.”
“But you’re actually not fine with it, right?”
“…A little.”
I know that. I know that you’re not the type of person to leave the people around you to run away. Unlike me.
“Let’s go back first. You’re probably too shocked at the moment so let’s go back first and stay with them for now. If you think that you want to run away, just tell me; I’ll run away with you. We can leave everything behind. But I think it’s also okay to continue living in the Capital.”
First of all, the food is good. It also has so many delicious snacks. Anything besides that doesn’t really matter but it’s important to consider that the food is good. If we live on the run, it would be hard for us to stay for long in big cities. Naturally, the quality of our diet would go down. We’d live a sad life if we only stayed in the countryside, eating potatoes, digging up potatoes, and cooking up some deer or rabbit without spices.
“…Roel.”
Captain Jullius reached out and hugged me again. This time, he didn’t do it from behind.
“Roel. Roel.”
“Yes, Jullius.”
“Why are you so nice to me…?”
…I’m nice?! No, I’m not. I did try to be. But normally, you wouldn’t consider a person who plans to kidnap you, threatens you, and claims ownership over you “nice”. Well, fine, let’s just say that I’m nice.
“Because I like you?”
“But the way I’m acting now… Even if you like me…”
“Didn’t I tell you before that you can do whatever you want?”
“But…I always get scared and angry.”
“Well, you can’t help it.”
Now that I think about it, should I consider what he did just now as kidnapping? I never expected that Captain would be the one doing the kidnapping first. Shocking. He also said that he wanted to kill the people around me. It was definitely a bit too much.
“It’s okay, I don’t care. It’s not like you get angry or scared on purpose. I accept it not because I’m nice, but because I’m okay with it.”
Any noblewoman who heard what he told me would probably shiver or run away from him. But should I, the leader of the Holy Knights, cry and be scared? It didn’t really bother me. Actually, I think there was something that really scared me…U-um, yeah, nevermind.
“As long as you don’t have an affair with another woman, I won’t get mad about that.”
I’ll get so angry if he does.
“So stop worrying and let’s go back—mmm.”
Suddenly, Captain Jullius kissed me roughly. His tongue hungrily pushed its way into my mouth. I reflexively tried to retreat, but I couldn’t overcome his strength as his legs bent over. In other words, we fell onto the ground.
Uukk, I can’t even use my one arm. I’m in pretty bad shape. I tried to stand up again with my other arm but his big hand pressed my shoulder down. Then…
“Uut.”
He kissed me again. His tongue didn’t come in this time. Instead, my lips were constantly licked and bitten. He bit and sucked my lower lip, pressed his lips on my cheek, and slid down to my nape.
“Ugh, Jullius—”
His lips touched my neck, sending shivers down my spine. His lips traced a line from my neck down to my collarbone. As soon as his lips reached the hollow above my collarbone, I couldn’t resist raising my hand and grabbing his shoulder.
“W-wait.”
When I told him to stop, he placed his hand on my chest. I told him to wait, right?!
“Just a little more…”
“Ah, yeah…okay.”
…Just like before, I’m not very good at rejecting Captain’s requests. But this is quite nice, too. With my permission, his hand started to move.
Jjiiik!
“…Huh?”
He ripped my clothes?! Wait a minute, why did he rip my clothes?! He could’ve just taken it off! Because it was too cumbersome to put on female’s underwear, when he ripped my clothes, the strip of cloth wrapped around my chest was also taken off. I felt a bit shy when I saw his pale gray eyes staring at my chest. It’s not even my own chest, actually. But it’s mine now.
His hand gently touched my chest. It felt a bit cold compared to his body temperature, making me frown a little. His hand that had been gently caressing me slid down to my waist as his lips pressed against my chest. Uggh, my heart is beating so fast, probably because he’s so close to it.
“…I want to touch you more.”
“More…where?” I asked, panting slightly.
Do we have to take off each other’s clothes to get closer? I don’t really care if people see us, but I don’t think we should do it outside. He didn’t take off his clothes, perhaps because he felt the same way. He pressed down his lips on my collarbone and then lifted my head.
“I’m sorry.”
“What? No, my clothes are fine. Just tell me to take them off next time.”
“That’s…”
Captain tried to say something but he suddenly stood up and took off his shirt. I thought he wanted to do more but instead he held the shirt out to me. So, it was for me to put on. Obviously; a woman shouldn’t walk around with her upper body exposed. I put on his big shirt and got up, holding Captain’s hand.
