The System Of A Vampire - 101 The Imperial Family
“Draig? That is quite a strange name” snorted one of the older men causing Draig to narrow his eyes and decide to abuse his child like form for extra humiliation.
“About as strange as your face it would seem” retorted Draig causing the Emperor to laugh along with a few others.
“Watch it Akio, Draig has a way with words” chuckled the Emperor seeing a bit of childishness from Draig.
“Oh dear brother the honesty of a child is a beautiful thing” chuckled a younger more feminine looking man.
“Shut it Hideki” growled Akio, his larger frame making for an intimidating sight.
Draig smirked seeing he had won this round.
“Father why have you brought this child here, I hope it isn’t another story of your bleeding heart” sighed a woman this time casting a scathing glance at Draig however the Feratu returned a glare of his own causing the woman to look at him with a bit of interest.
“Oh no, Draig here is quite unique. In fact more unique than any other person dead or alive” chuckled the Emperor causing the gathered Imperial family to look at the Vampire curiously while waiting for the Emperor to elaborate.
“I will allow him to decide if he wants to show you his special talent” smiled the Emperor which seemed to make them focus on Draig believing he would enjoy the chance to show off before so many members of the Imperial family.
However contradictory to their expectation’s Draig did no such thing, he wasn’t some kind of circus animal and wouldn’t amuse these people just because they were curious.
The Emperor nodded as this reaffirmed his image of the Vampire.
“Well, what are you waiting for” called out one of the younger people among the crowd of Imperials.
“Nothing” snorted Draig
“Then are you going to show us or not” demanded the youth though at the side the Emperor’s youngest son held a smirk as he waited to see a similar result and Draig didn’t disappoint.
“Oh very well….. catch” spoke Draig as a paper talisman flew quickly planting itself on the Youth that had spoken before he found himself crouched in the Feral position.
“I call this crouching donkey” smiled Draig enjoying the struggle the boy was putting up while the others laughed at his misfortune causing him to yell out even more.
Draig was about to laugh when he felt a blade press against his neck.
“I advise you release my son child” stated a agile looking man that carried a shady aura around him.
Draig narrowed his eyes causing the gathered crowd to look in interest.
“I advise you drop your blade or else” stated Draig his voice carrying a bit of grit surprising the people in the room.
“Or else what boy, you think you can make a fool of an Imperial heir” started the man before he was taken by surprise and was thrown to the ground with a surprising amount of force though it wasn’t enough to hurt.
“Or else your son will be stuck in that position forever” lied Draig as he activated his protection Charm erecting a barrier around him and forcing the man off of him.
The man growled and ran in to strike again but his blade did nothing to break the barrier.
“Baipa that is enough, Draig would you kindly release my grandson” asked the Emperor sighing as he found his good mood to be rather ruined.
Draig nodded and the talisman disintegrated and Baipa begrudgingly returned to standing next to the Emperor though it seemed the youth hadn’t learned his lesson and was spurned on by his humiliation as he charged at Draig with a small knife.
Draig smirked and raised his leg before spartan kicking forward taking the youth off his feet, it was something the Founder had done to him numerous times and he felt he understood a bit more of why he did it now that he mimicked the action.
‘Geez this kid fights like a tyrant’ thought Akio
Baipa rushed to his son’s side and checked him for injuries before casting another scathing glance at Draig.
“Boy it is a crime to attack someone of the Imperial family and an Heir at that, as the victim’s father I wish to enact my right to a duel of death” started Baipa but the Emperor stood up to reprimand Baipa however the man would hear none of it.
“As stated not even the Emperor can refute one’s right to this Duel, a law made by the First Emperor himself” started Baipa showing that he was an unsensible person.
“However that law also states that if the Imperial member in question had attacked unprovoked then they would be sentenced to death” stated the Emperor causing Baipa to freeze.
“Baipa, I am the Emperor. Do you think I would not know the laws of my own kingdom inside and out, so tell me do you really wish to call that law into play. If so then I will call the executioner here to remedy the situation as intsructed by the law you have invoked” spoke the Emperor looking at Baipa with disgust, to attempt a duel with a child. It was simply sickening to the man.
“Father I, I was only looking out for Eizo. Please forgive me” started Baipa but the Emperor showed his ruling persona.
“That is not what I asked Baipa, do you wish to invoke the law or not. I have no need for your pathetic excuses” stated the Emperor
“No Father” answered Baipa though he cast a hateful glance towards Draig as he felt further humiliated.
“Then go, you have shown yourself incapable of leading despite all the chances I have given you previously. As such you and Eizo will no longer be considered candidates for the throne, poor Eizo has picked up too many of your traits and thus the reason for his elimination.” continued the Emperor surprising many of the people in the room as this was the first time the Emperor had eliminated one of his descendants from inheriting the title of Emperor.
“But Father” started Baipa but the Emperor stopped him.
“You attempted to duel a child in a battle to the death, have you no shame, no dignity? You attempted to abuse the laws of the kingdom on many occasions to serve your own purpose or have you forgotten Eizo’s poor mother, I have had enough Baipa. I am tired of overlooking your toxicity but perhaps I am to blame for giving you the name Baipa, but that will not excuse your actions.” roared the Emperor shocking the rest of the Emperor’s heirs at the anger in the voice of the usually kind man.
“Where will we go” asked Baipa in shock as he had never expected to be removed as an heir, it seemed his eyes had lost purpose after the announcement.
“You are familiar with the laws, you are to be removed from the capital and not to return unless called upon to prevent treachery from occurring to the remaining Heirs” answered the Emperor as his eyes began to color with sadness after finishing his words.
“You will join your cousins at the border under their command, this is my decree and I hope it will help assist in correcting your spirit” finished the Emperor as he sat down exhaustedly seeming to have aged a decade in that moment as he watched Baipa leave carrying Eizo in his arms.
‘I helped make him this way by refusing to reprimand him and enabling him’ thought the Emperor while the rest of those in the room looked at the doorway where Baipa had left before looking at Draig.
‘Don’t stare at me like I am the cause, stupid humans’ thought Draig as he stood there waiting for a command
