The System Of A Vampire - 115 Not my Avatar pt9
Clang….. Clang…. Dink…. Dink
The constant banging of metal against metal resounded through out the room Draig and Ginji resided in during the forging process, the man known as the Sword God was busy trying to figure out how he was going to turn such a large piece of red hot metal into a single useable weapon.
It wouldn’t have been such an issue but the fact that the Feratu had asked him to take so many weapons and make them into one had given him quite the challenge. Sighing to himself he continued hammering diligently under the watchful eyes of Draig, soon he had flattened the blades into a flat piece of metal but it was this moment where Ginji noticed an impurity in the blade and began working to get rid of it.
Nodding to himself after having handled the oddity he folded the blade only to narrow his eyes when he saw more impurities appearing within the blade.
‘Shoddy craftsmanship’ grunted Ginji mentally.
The Grave Forger hammered out these impurities as well before folding the blade again only find more, huffing silently the man began working them out as well.
This was the interesting trait Ginji possessed, he was a perfectionist by nature which is what made his works so unique. He was able to improve old swords to make them better than they were previously thus truly breathing new life into them.
Draig watched silently as Hours slowly crept by and Ginji continued folding and hammering the blade until it refused to fold for him anymore no matter how much he heated the metal. It was interesting how this person who didn’t seem like much was able to form such a magnificent talent out of such a common trade. However the man’s next phase in the process caused Driag some shock though a part of him applauded the man.
‘Is he a demon in disguise’ wondered Draig as he watched him grab a fresher corpse and quench to blade by stabbing it into the carcass from the shoulder to the hip.
A sickening smel rose into the air as the body hissed against the hot metal before Ginji pulled it free and looked at the sword, this was something he hadn’t done before and as he looked at the blackened blade he felt he had done a job worthy of being called Sword God.
It was a katana as many Deva preferred to use but it was an inch or two longer than normal and possessed a thicker blade but it was definitely superior as compared to other swords he had created from old ones.
Draig looked at the sword and smiled as he held his hand open to grasp it but Ginji seeing this pulled the sword to his chest causing the Feratu’s eyes to narrow dangerously.
“What are you doing” asked Draig as he wouldn’t put up with someone attempting to take what was his.
“I don’t think I can give up this sword” stated Ginji as he looked at the perfection of the blade, he had folded it so many times removing impurities that the blade refused to fold even when super heated. How strong would a sword have to be to refuse to follow the laws of physics.
“You don’t have a choice, it is my sword Ginji” spoke Draig with some grit as his hand began to flex incessantly.
“I can make you another one just as good” started Ginji but Draig merely snorted in response.
“It would never be as good as that one, those swords I had you fuse into one blade were the swords of previous Emperors” stated Draig causing Ginji to realize the sword was even more precious than he first realized causing him to take a step backward as if hoping to run.
“Give me my sword Ginji” growled Draig seeing the man’s attempt at prolonging the inevitable.
“Look kid, I can’t just give away something like this.” spoke Ginji but found a paper talisman against head forcing him into a awkward position pinning his limbs behind his back thus dropping the sword in the process.
“It was never yours to give away” sneered Draig as he picked up the sword and admired it, he had been keeping count while Ginji folded the blade.
“A thousand folds” muttered Draig causing Ginji to train his eyes on Draig as he hadn’t even kept count merely focusing on removing all the impurities.
“I folded it a thousand times” asked Ginji skeptically though there seemed to be a trace of excitement in his voice.
“I did not miscount, a thousand times and a thousand cleansings” spoke Draig as he rubbed the back side of the blade admiringly.
“I won’t kill you this time but should you ever try and keep my possessions again then I will not hesitate to kill another fine smith” stated Draig as he turned his back and left, it wasn’t until he was a safe distance away that he released the talisman and thus freeing Ginji.
Draig couldn’t help but admire the sword and understand inherently why Ginji would want to keep this sword, it was something alluring about it unlike any weapon he had seen before.
‘Thousand fold Blade, that will be the name of this divine weapon’ thought Draig until he realized he didn’t have a sheath for it.
“I suppose I will be able to settle for a normal sheath after having received such a grand sword” smiled Draig as he went to the Kori compound while noticing that people kept eyeing the sword in his hand hungrily.
‘It’s as if I have a beautiful woman on my arm’ thought Draig as he started watching people warily in case they attempted to take his sword as well.
Draig took this as his signal to move quickly but still it seemed people wished to follow in order to keep gazing at the sword, it was odd that a piece of metal despite it’s amazing quality could create such a commotion.
Eventually Draig ripped the remnant’s of his shirt and wrapped the cloth around the blade causing the people to calm down and look arouned wondering what happened.
‘Hypnotic almost’ thought Draig as he continued moving with haste
