The System Of A Vampire - 123 Factions pt2
Draig sat there with a smirk as he channeled his old personality as if to say even in this time where he had lost most of his abilities he still sat above the common people.
“Draig, why are you in Dorm E” asked Ari suddenly disrupting the tension.
“I didn’t enter the arena” answered Draig causing everyone to look at him strangely.
“Why would you do that, you could of been in Dorm B at the very least” asked Yuki looking at the Vampire with a sense of curiosity.
“It is better to remain low key in these types of situations” explained Draig drawing an odd look from everyone there again.
‘You call this low key, you just displayed a legion of monsters and people for an Avatar and then display a completely separate one’ thought everyone as the resisted the urge to spit blood.
Keiko however was staring at Draig with a calculating gaze, according to what Yuki had just said this person would at the very east be Dorm B material. This was someone she could make use of, with that thought she smiled.
“Draig, surely we don’t need to come to blows over a misunderstanding” started Keiko causing the crowd to look at her.
“Did you not suggest this wager” asked Draig causing Keiko to grimace at having her previous words brought up when she was trying to cool down the situation.
Keiko started sweating as it seemed she had spoken before she knew there was tiger in this den, coughing lightly then began speaking.
“That’s right I suggested it thus I am unsuggesting this wager” stated Keiko shamelessly causing everyone present Draig included to nearly spit blood.
‘So shameless’ though Draig shaking his head as he turned his back on the girl.
“If that is the case then my presence is no longer needed, I merely wished to see what all the noise was about” sighed Draig as he went to return to his room despite his earlier wishes of exploring the grounds of the Academy
“Draig wait, why don’t you come and talk. It’s been a long time since we last saw each other, besides the rest of the Lords children have joined the Mugen Faction and I’m sure they would like to meet you” called Ari causing Keiko to look at her approvingly for saving the situation though she didn’t realize it was more for her than her apparent leader.
Draig sighed and thought it over for a bit, he didn’t really wish to associate with a Faction. Hell he didn’t even know about Factions until today however this may prove to be an interesting subject so reluctantly the Feratu turned around.
“Very well, we can talk but I won’t be joining a Faction” stated Draig causing the small look of victory on Keiko’s face to vanish.
Yuki seemed to smile for a moment before the expression disappeared, soon the group left the Dorm while Ginji was once again looking like a lost puppy as Draig walked away with the Thousand Fold Blade tied to his waist.
‘Why am I cursed to watch you leave me after only meeting again for a few moments’ thought Ginji as he felt his heartstrings tugging in longing.
The man had the effect of causing the residents of the Dorm to disperse because of his odd actions.
With Draig however the group walked in silence for some time as the Feratu didn’t know what it was these two people wanted to know exactly.
Keiko on the other hand seemed to want to speak but found the silence preventing her from doing so.
“So Draig, where have you been all this time” asked Yuki surprisingly starting the conversation.
“Training to use my Avatar” answered Draig simply causing the girl to nod in understanding.
“So how was your time staying with the Emperor, I bet you got to see lots of amazing things in the capital” continued Ari which seemed to sour Draig’s mood.
“It was as expected of a bunch of stuck up mortals” stated Draig obviously still holding a grudge over being locked up for a petty power struggle.
“So tell me about these Factions, what are they and why does the Academy allow them” asked Draig suddenly causing Keiko to smile as this appeared to be her moment to shine.
“Well simply put, a Faction is a group that aligns under a single goal” started Keiko causing Draig to look at her derisively.
“I know what a Faction is, I mean what is the point of Factions here. This is just a school, it’s not like this will mean anything after you leave” stated Draig in annoyance.
“That’s where your wrong, many of the Dynasties from today can trace their origins back here to the Deva Academy. It’s the safest place for one to build their forces without fear of being annihilated, well except for by other Factions that is.” stated Keiko with a look of superiority for knowing something Draig didn’t.
“Then what your saying is that you wish to overthrow a particular Dynasty, how cowardly” snorted Draig though he had to admit it had its merits.
Keiko hugged indignantly hearing Draig’s words and was about to start berating him when she remembered the goal at hand.
‘Gotta recruit, gotta recruit, gotta recruit’ reapeated Keiko mentally like a mantra.
She desperately needed a potential powerhouse in her corner because her Faction had been dwindling as former members went on to form their own Factions leaving her behind in pursuit of their own dreams of grandeur. If she could rope in Draig then perhaps she would have a chance of taking over some of the other factions through a duel but at the very least she may be able to recruit more members with a backing like his. Just the sight of his Avatar would make people want to submit.
This thought caused her to start chuckling cruelly as she thought about the traitors she wanted to get revenge on.
“I am wondering how you managed to rope Ari, Yuki, and the rest of the Heirs from their city into following you. It is quite obvious that your power is negligible at best” commented Draig causing Keiko to scowl and reach towards her own weapon which Draig hadn’t seen until now. A large knife tat was hidden well behind her back.
“I would be careful who you bare your fangs at, some people don’t mind a good slaughter” chuckled Draig as cruelty danced in his eyes and his legion began dancing above him as if asking for him to do it.
Keiko grit her teeth and sheathed the knife as she knew Draig wasn’t someone she could stand against.
“Draig, we can’t let you disgrace our faction leader” grunted Ari though Yuki didn’t speak and seemed to be on the opposite end of the spectrum.
This caught Keiko and Ari by surprise as usually Yuki would be the first to stand up when Keiko was threatened.
“It seems this was a mistake, I will be taking my leave now. Do not come sniffing around my Dorm again or I will not act as kindly as I have today” stated Draig, he didn’t wish to involve himself with their group. This Keiko girl was too rash and too weak to be of any worth in a leadership position, it would be best to distance himself though this did give him a few ideas on some of his other plans for the future.
‘Faction huh’ chuckled Draig returning to his room
