The System Of A Vampire - 143 Partial Manifestation
Splice was laughing loudly as he drank from a bottle while the rest of his faction celebrated, he had been building something just for the cause of hunting Draig as Hana had commanded. He had managed to calm down a bit after easing his mind through the festivities among his faction and was finding it as a grand opportunity.
‘Hana is foolish, when I defeat this idiotic upstart I will consume all the glory for myself.’ chuckled Splice mouth.
However his thoughts were interrupted however when he heard a loud rumbling and his people began to panic, feeling a bit of confusion he looked towards the source of the rumbling only to feel his eyes nearly pop out of his head.
“What the hell is that” roared Splice as he witnessed the crimson boulder toppling the camp as numerous Faction members were already being used as paint for the giant barrier.
Growling to himself Splice pulled out his sword though it would be more accurate to call it a giant needle as it had no guard, the sword was a long sliver of metal that didn’t seem as if it could kill anyone but surely there must be a reason he was able to become a part of the disciplinary committee with a seemingly weak weapon.
“Bastards. . . . ” Splice’s words were interrupted when he saw a figure emerge from the rolling sphere of death. The poor Committee member felt a chill upon gazing into those crimson eyes, the two swords at his waist clanging together ever so slightly.
Splice felt his confidence he had built up waver for only a second before he found himself smiling insanely.
Draig on the other hand was feeling pleased at seeing the fear on Splice’s face but found himself on guard when the scared youth suddenly began smiling.
“So you came to me, I must say your information gathering skills are indeed amazing but unfortunately it has only brought you closer to death” stated Splice mouth as he misunderstood Draig’s arrival to be a preemptive strike against due to his mission.
The Feratu didn’t understand what this foolish mortal was talking about as he drew the Thousand fold Blade.
‘It seems this world is full of odd people’ sighed Draig as he felt himself mentally shrivel at the thought of being born into this place like them.
Splice mouth unaware of the Feratu’s thoughts channeled his Avatar which took the form of a stitched up figure in a lab coat with many body parts poking out of a basket on it’s back causing for a terrifying image as those eyes full of madness focused in on Draig.
The Avatar seemed to chuckle patronizingly as it began to move causing Draig a bit of surprise as it actually touched the ground causing a small tremble in the earth beneath him.
Seeing the surprised look Splice Mouth began to laugh again thinking he had the advantage.
“Behold the power of a partial Manifestation, Corpse Sewing: Abomination. . .” called Splice mouth naming his technique.
It didn’t take long for Draig to understand the influence of the Avatar as the ground began to surge as if a mole underneath the ground surged from the Deva’s Final Path hidden in the valley.
The fact that he smelled something familiar to him caused Draig to go on guard, he wasn’t quite sure what it was though as he searched through his memories but it seems he couldn’t recall quick enough as a hand punched through to ground followed by countless others as a behemoth of a creature came out.
It’s large figure was the amalgamation of several corpses being sown together as countless faces could be seen on it’s body, the creature possessed eight arms as well that each carried a sword but this wasn’t what bothered Draig.
No, what was disturbing to the Feratu was that he knew the faces decorating the Abomination’s body.
‘Dorm Leader. . . .’ thought Draig with a bit regret coloring his eyes.
That bit of regret showed that the Feratu was changing but it wasn’t for the better as it had finally showed a weakness that could be abused in battle.
‘Disgraceful. . .’ rang a well known voice, it’s disgust clear in Draig’s head.
The founder had spoken to Draig, the Feratu was brought from his shock by this surprise.
“How did you” started Draig only to feel an intense mental pain.
‘Don’t waste time you miserable wretch, I can’t keep this up. I am breaking the very laws of this world by speaking to you before you are ready, go and slaughter. Kill as the Feratu were meant to’ roared the Founder as his voice began to fade.
Draig mentally nodded as that happy go lucky sense he had been carrying for the past couple weeks seemed to fade and the aura around him became dark and unforgiving once again.
“Look at you, are you surprised to see your beloved friends again. Ha ha ha” laughed Splice Mouth only to receive a snort of dismissal.
“Systematic Slaying” started Draig as Splice Mouth stopped laughing seeing Draig to be unbothered by the image of the rotting faces decorating his abomination.
“Wait, are you really going to kill them again. The people who died because of your mistake” called Splice in a panicky tone.
Draig ignored him as his Deva energy began to swirl around his blade in a familiar manner as Kira and his Pack descended from the Avatar.
“Fanged Twister” spoke Draig quietly as a horrible whirling storm of energy was realeased onto the battlefield followed by a haunting howl from the loyal servants of his former world.
Splice mouth watched in horror as his creation was swallowed up by the twister but that wasn’t the only shocking thing, as he watched another Avatar manifest above Draig that launched it’s hand forward and grabbed his Avatar before dragging it into Draig’s.
This event was followed by a few words as the Founder once again used his own energy to speak.
“Avatar Raid” grunted the Founder as his image faded along with Splice’s Avatar causing the Disciplinary member to feel a sudden sense of weakness as if his energy had been drained.
The feeling was mutual as Draig’s energy had been drained by the Founder’s little show of power causing him some extreme discomfort however he was built stronger than a human regardless of if it was a Deva or not.
“Unfortunately I can’t give you a Deva’s death so take this as a consolation prize. . .” spoke Draig coldly hiding his sudden weakness by tossing a few pieces of paper towards the crazy youth.
Splice looked at them oddly until they started to light up and his body was rocked by the blast of several explosions rendering his body unsalvageable.
Draig sneered at the weakness and looked towards the giant Barrier that was still rolling around before mentally giving the command causing it to disappear.
‘It’s time to find what we came for’ thought Draig as he walked towards the group he had brought with him.
