The System Of A Vampire - 153 Changes and Confusion
Draig sat in his room as he enjoyed the silence, as he did so he couldn’t help but think about the how crazy this world was. Initially he had believed that the society was much more modest when it came to standards but his encounter with the girl making him tea had changed that. However unknown to him his life was soon to become much more hectic than it was before all do to the intervention of a higher power seeking further amusement.
In the Deva Association headquarters the Captains were confused beyond reason as the one they had come to respect and fear had suddenly began to act out of character all of a sudden.
“Lord Asura. . . are you okay. .” asked a scarred man who seemed young but the depths of his eyes showed his true age.
The old man who was the president of the Deva Association had begun to act in a ridiculous manner as compared to his cold and domineering self.
“Am I okay? What is the meaning of this question, do I seem as if something is wrong” rambled Lord Asura as if he was a normal old man.
The captains didn’t dare to answer due to past experiences and events involving the Lord Asura they had come to know.
He had started acting this way foregoing the personality he had always shown when he had received a message through the Divine messenger he had given his granddaughter.
“That little heathen dared to grope my granddaughter” roared Lord Asura revealing that the girl that had blackmailed Draig into allowing her presence was in fact his granddaughter.
Now the Captains were certain that there was something wrong with their Lord as he had never shown himself to care about what happened to his relatives. This was concerning as they felt that someone may have tampered with their leader’s mind causing them to feel a deep sense of concern as it may jeopardize their plans.
“I’ll throttle that little bastard” raged Lord Asura as he made to go to the doors leading out of the Headquarters.
Now the Captains were certain something was wrong as Lord Asura hadn’t revealed himself to the world in years opting to stay outside the public eye in order to plot and carry out his plans secretly.
“Lord, what about our need for secrecy” called one of the captains hoping to snap the old man from his sudden rampage.
“Secrecy my foot, I am the strongest who dares to stand in my way” huffed Lord Asura as he continued his steps towards the exit.
‘Damn it, what has gotten into him. We must stop him until he calms down’ was the thought of the captains as they looked to each other and nodded as if they had spoken their thoughts out loud.
Suddenly the ten Captains dashed from their seats intent on preventing their leader from ruining their work but this wasn’t just some random old man. This was Lord Asura who had achieved near infinite life because of the depth of his power.
The moment he felt the wind shift time seemingly slowed down just as the Captains were within arms reach of him, a gleam entered Lord Asura’s eyes as his sandal seemed to fly from his foot and knocked one of the captains in the head before ricocheting into his hand where it became a devastating weapon. The Sandal was like the hand of god as it blurred out of existence along with Lord Asura’s arm and the Captains were sent flying through the air each carrying the mark of sandal on their heads.
Seeing that his foes had been vanquished through the use of his footwear Lord Asura dashed out of the doors leaving the groaning forms of the captains laying in a daze. The group of supreme Deva were still trying to piece together what exactly happened as they began to come to but it was futile to stop the one who sat at the top of the world of Deva.
‘A sandal. . .’ was the last thought they had as their eyes suddenly fell and darkness took them.
However while this was happening Draig was due for more unexpected visits including one from an old friend.
“Here is your tea. . .” answered the girl sitting a pot and cup before Draig, her thoughts were in a bit of disarray at the moment as she had heard a few odd words come from her Grandfather through the Divine Messenger.
‘Grandfather was acting strangely. . .’ thought the girl as she sipped a cup of tea as well.
Draig sat silently not responding to the girl’s words as he sipped his own cup of tea, he was still very suspicious of this girl and couldn’t bring himself to trust her.
‘This person didn’t poison the tea. . . what is her agenda for following me after I have been weakened’ thought Draig casting a secondary glance towards the girl.
“You, what is your name. . .” asked Draig finally causing the girl to be brought from her thoughts.
“My Grandfather calls me Chidori. . .” answered the now named Chidori, she had been watching Draig for some time by now and found the question to be slightly out of character in comparison with the person he appeared to be publicly.
“Chidori then. . . Tell me why is it that you wish to follow me” stated Draig getting to the heart of the matter.
“That is a personal question” answered Chidori causing Draig to stare at her with more suspicion.
The Feratu narrowed his eyes, he felt he truly couldn’t trust this person who acted so shamelessly as to blackmail him through the use of her grandfather after using his hand to grope herself.
His thoughts were continuing down the line of possibilities as to why she would wish to follow him when he sensed a tremendous power coming directly to his residence, his blood almost seemed to tell him to run as he felt himself instinctively enter his hybrid state.
“Chidoriiiiiiiiii. . . . . . . .” came the battlecry as Lord Asura displayed a brillieant aura around himself as a thousand armed figure was displayed aboved him.
Chidori recognized the voice and found herself at a loss for words, her grandfather had left the Headquarters. In her mind this wasn’t a good sign and caused her to pale slightly while Draig observed the fact that he had transformed against his will. This was a first for him, he would take this as a sign of his body recognizing a superior existence which caused him a bit of trepidation. However he did recognize that the name called was that of Chidori and not himself which only caused him to cast a scathing glance towards the girl mentioned.
Draig didn’t have much time to think as the owner of that voice crashed through the floor like an angry god and clutched Chidori to his chest while glaring daggers at Draig.
‘What the fuck. . . .’ thought Draig as he couldn’t fathom what he had done to deserve this kind of look from a stranger.
