The System Of A Vampire - 165 True Materialization pt2
“Predecessor Gentleman Demon. . . Would it be possible to replicate this process with those gathered here. . .” asked the Ancient voice with hope starting to color it’s tone.
Draig heard this and couldn’t say that he was surprised by the request with the way the conversation was going, however it wasn’t something that could be replicated as he had been just putting on an act in front of these Demons. Though when he thought to answer in the negative a thought had occurred to him, he could use this opportunity to gain a new toy but it was difficult to say if he could really pull the wool over the eyes of so many intelligent Demons…
“Perhaps. . . .” answered Draig cryptically as he began thinking of whether he should or shouldn’t attempt this task.
‘Demons gain mysterious abilities upon their evolution into a more perfect form, it would be interesting to see if I could find a way to harness these demon’s abilities for myself’ thought Draig as he began thinking deeper.
It wasn’t clear if their would be a positive result on his end but he was certain that if the worst happened then he would be able to handle these Demons with his actual Materialization.
The Feratu had been overjoyed at finding his Materialization was more than capable of killing Demons and Deva alike, it had eased some of his burden of continuing to survive in this hellish place where demons ran rampant.
“Predecessor. . . .” asked the Ancient voice again seeing the contemplating look of Draig’s face.
“I am uncertain if the same process will work for each of you. . . .” started Draig causing some of the Demons in the room to look as if they had been robbed of a great treasure.
“However I believe with my earlier experience with this ritual it shouldn’t be too difficult to change it a bit for all of your benefit” continued Draig being interrupted by the Ancient voice that finally revealed itself to be an odd looking bird creature.
Possessing the head of an owl and the torso of a jaguar along with the legs of a bull the Demon made for an odd sight.
Looking at this chimera like creature Draig didn’t reveal his surprise even though he thought this was an odd looking form for a demon, at least as compared to the human likeness of these other demons.
“Predecessor please allow us to open a facility so you may research this, it would be an honor for all of those gathered to have a predecessor from the previous era among us. However I feel that our time here may be coming to an end due to the efforts of the Dynasties. . . ” explained the Ancient Demon.
“I will sort out the issue of the Dynasties then, gather me many Materials in the form of precious Gems and Jewelry made from high class ingredients. These will be mandatory if you wish me to perform a ritual. . .” stated Draig causing the Ancient Demon to nod before barking out orders to those other Demons present when Draig felt a pulse from the Immortal Class Demon egg.
“Junior. . .” stated Draig experimentally seeing how the word would feel among these Demons.
It seemed to be the appropriate thing to say as the Ancient Demon turned towards Draig readily though he still carried his dignity as a High class Demon.
“I believe there may be a use for the energy that is pulsing from this building” continued Draig causing the Ancient Demon to look at Draig though there wasn’t much surprise in his gaze.
“Predecessor, may I ask what you mean by useful” asked the Ancient Demon curiously, he was a bit hesitant due to the fact he would find it hard to part with the egg even if it was to a predecessor.
“We can use the purified energy coming from the egg as a Catalyst. . . it should prove useful in allowing your transformation into a transcendant Demon” stated Draig making up a new ranking on the spot causing the Ancient demon’s breathing to hasten.
“I will allow you to make the decision, if you agree to this request merely leave the Egg in the space for my research. If not then I will think of a way to do so without the energy. . .” explained Draig as he turned his back and deactivated his materialization resuming his Hybrid form.
“Predecessor?. . . .” called the Ancient Demon confused as to why Draig seemed to be leaving.
“The Dynasties won’t be a problem much longer. . .” stated Draig cryptically as he walked out of the base and was welcomed back into the arms of the Miasma floating around outside.
‘I need to return to the capital it seems. . . at the very least to tell the emperor not to worry about the situation’ thought Draig though unknown to him he was being watched at this very moment by an unassuming object.
‘Powerful. . . mother has returned finally. Please wait just a bit longer mother, I will see you soon’ came the thought of the observer.
Draig unaware of his observer dashed from the spot, his mana and Deva energy intertwining around him like a whirlwind allowing him to blast through his old limitations of speed. Thus Draig began his journey back to the capital though he would do his best to keep his new found Materialization a secret, it would be best if he used it as a trump card while pretending his hybrid form was the true Materialization.
‘I haven’t even been able to test the full might of this brush yet. . . to do so I need to find a powerful opponent among the Deva or even demons. However this is a relief as I now have the use of my runes again, though something seems inherently different about them. This is yet another reason for me to find an opponent to test these differences. . .’ thought Draig as he ducked and dodged any obstacles in his path.
He was interested to see just how far he could make it before his reserves ran out, this would also serve as a good way to learn how to fight beyond his exhaustion of mental energies and rely on his physical prowess.
The longer Draig remained in this world the more he began to realize that he was lacking in actual talent, this was especially the case when he had lost the ability to use any of his Avatars. No fighting style to speak of other than his Systematic slaying and the very few techniques he had created in the old world but were now negligible without the Powers of the Feratu line to back them up.
Inside that oh so familiar cavern the woman watched Draig with excitement, she had slowly been coming around to cheering for Draig. She hadn’t even noticed it herself but the more she watched the Vampire swagger through the World of Deva the more she found him likeable and entertaining.
“He is growing so much. . . it seems being stripped of his god like abilities is what he needed to truly flourish and reach his potential. Ha Ha Ha, I wonder if this makes me his patron” chuckled the woman cheerfully.
She was enthralled with the recent events and couldn’t help but laugh seeing the usually serious but sometimes random Feratu begin putting on an act similar to a great Master of an era. She loved how the Ancient Demon that had been set to become the next Immortal class folded before Draig like some shameful Junior that had been admonished.
The way Draig kept overcoming situations in bizarre manners had her hooked on him and had her interest into the next worlds adventures surging. She very much wanted to quickly have him switch to a new world but she didn’t want to miss anything he would do in the World of Deva, it was a cause for anxiety in the woman as she didn’t want to miss the actions of the Vampire.
However back with Draig he had grown distracted during his sprinting and blasted through a tree causing him to stumble before tripping and carving a shallow trench in the ground with his body.
‘Should have been paying attention. . .’ thought Draig as he got to his feet and began running again.
He wanted to hurry and get the task with the Capital completed at first but now there was a way for him to profit from the situation, on top of this it would allow him to remain independent from the Capital for some time. Thus killing two birds with one stone in his opinion though he would need to learn a bit more about the energy structure of the Demons if he wished to make his profit.
This in mind he continued his journey to the capital, only time would tell if he would do this successfully. The Feratu was becoming more than he ever would have if he had stayed the path of the previous world.
