The Tale Of The Worst Squad At Rodeo Academy - Chapter 109 Changes
The battle has finally ended as it starts raining again.
I struck my sword down into the ground and sit near the humanoid.
I hear Urika crying next to me.
“We got the general and tied him with magical ropes.” Bob says to me. “So Kapiko was used as an experiment for this thing…” Bob says.
“My brother…” Urika says as tears fall down her cheeks.
“You can cry all you want but his not going to be coming back.” I say. “Hey! That’s cold, you shouldn’t say-”
I don’t listen to Bob and continue to speak. “He’s definitely in a better place though…” I say as I look at the dark sky. “I am pretty sure about it.” I continue.
“I don’t feel like I have a purpose to live anymore.” Urika says.
Bob feels sad.
“Jeez, stop with your suicidal thoughts.” I say. “You’re still too young to even think about something like that, you still have a long life ahead of you. So stay alive because your brother wouldn’t want you to die.” I continue and pat Urika’s head.
Both Bob’s and Urika’s eyes widen.
“I…Can’t go…On…” I was on the verge of death when I met him…
I woke up in an infirmary and saw him seated near me…There he was Caster Daniels…
“Yo! You finally awake?” Caster asked me with a huge smile.
“Why did you save me?” I asked Caster.
“Hey, that’s rude you know.” Caster gave me an unsatisfied look.
“It’s better I die…I am of no use. I couldn’t even save my city from that damn fucker…” I was frustrated…I was unhappy to be of no use even though I have such strong magical power.
“Hmm? Interesting, tell me your story kid.” Caster says to me.
I said everything to Caster about how Riverery took a huge turn when this new general was appointed. Everyone who revolted was slaughtered, including me…
The council didn’t do anything because the general was recommended by a paladin.
“Do you really feel like dying for such a small reason?” Caster asked me. “I am weak…I can’t defeat them with my strength…” I said to Caster. “Then become strong…Don’t be like I am weak and I couldn’t protect a few people so I deserve to die type of character. I mean look at you, you’re just a child. Do you think that you need to die so early on in your life like your some kind of side character in a novel or something? If that’s the case you need to understand that everyone is a protagonist of their own life.” Caster said to me.
Back then…He said something similar to me.
I see why you chose this guy as the captain of Rizing…He’s just like you…A guy who can inspire everyone around him. He also has a friendly aura just like you around him.
Bob smiles.
“Hey, Henry…Thank you!” Bob says to me. I smile back at him. “No need to thank me, we are in the same squad after all.” I say to him with a smile.
Caster…Don’t you dare worry…Even if you have gone, I will always be behind this boy, protecting him until the day I die.
Urika calmed down after a while.
Bob and I reported the humanoid to the council and how the general was creating it. The council quickly took action against him.
“Congratulations, you did well.” Vasteria says to me as I make out of the council room. “Your first mission and you weren’t bad at all. It seems you also got a new weapon.” Vasteria says to me. I nod. “Yip!” I say with a grin.
“It seems that you have learnt to smile and not always have that gloomy cold face.” Vasteria says to me. I didn’t realise it…Was I smiling? It’s natural instinct…
“Your reports from Caster said that you were an emotionless kind-hearted fool. I guess he was wrong, you have cried, gotten angry and now you smiled…You aren’t emotionless.” Vasteria says to me. It struck to me…
Before I came to Rodeo…I never had any such emotions…And now…
Vasteria chuckled. “You smiled too.” I say to Vasteria. “I know I did because I am happy.” She says to me. “After all…You are such a different person from the others around you. Your aura is so much different than all the other people I have met.” She continues as she walks past me.
“Remember this Henry, doesn’t matter who it is, you will always bring a smile on their face.” Vasteria said to me as she left. What’s with her? She seems happier than usual.
I can’t take it that Vasteria was actually good to me.
I think about it all day.
Next day, in the class,
“We have a new member joining our class as our class had 1 spot empty.” Vasteria says.
I look at the door open.
“Wait a minute…”
The new member is…
“Is that Urika?” I am surprised that she is here.
“URIKA?!!!!” Bob seems to be surprised but that reaction seems to be too much.
