The Tale Of Three Sisters - Chapter 198
The following day.
Zemeth was now ready to go back to the Nephilim Kingdom. He addressed the men. “My friends, take care of the girls for me,” he said.
“When are you coming back?” Jegun asked.
“It depends…as long I already find the healer that is willing to take a look at Ivy and Ella’s case, then I’ll return here to the island right away because I am desperate for Ivy’s memory to be restored so that we can resume where we left of,” Zemeth explained.
Ramza looked at his friend. “Go with peace of mind, buddy. Don’t worry about the girls, they’re in good hands,” he said, trying to put his friend’s mind at ease.
“Okay, I’m relieved. I know I can count on you guys. I’d better go now!” Zemeth said.
A few seconds later, Zemeth disappeared from their view.
The men dispersed to resumed their daily chores on the island.
Hours went by.
After lunch, Jegun informed Ramza and Agran that he is going to visit his friend the king of elves in the cave and he will return at night.
After Jegun left the island, Ramza and Agran decided to go to the mountain to visit the girls.
When they arrived at their destination, Aspen was about to left the mountain going to the market to visit his lady friend who managed his fruit stand.
“Guys, I’m glad you’re here. I’ll go somewhere, take care of the girls for me,” Aspen said.
“Where are you going?” Ramza asked.
“I’m going to visit a friend in the market,” Aspen replied.
“A guy friend?” asked Agran, raising his brow.
“No, a lady friend,” Aspen responded casually.
“Wow, you had a lady friend in the market, that’s nice!” Agran said with a smile.
“Is that lady friend your girlfriend?” Ramza teased Aspen.
Aspen groaned. “Ugh! You guys are overly romantic! Find your girls and stop teasing me!” he glared at them.
Ramza and Agran erupted into peals of laughter and left to find Kate and Ella inside the house.
Aspen went to the fruit garden to harvest some fruits to give them to his lady friend in the market.
The boys found Kate and Ella in the living room.
“Hello girls, we’re here for a visit!” said Ramza and lowered himself beside Kate.
Agran sat beside Ella. “Where’s your older sister?” he asked.
“She’s sleeping in the room,” Ella replied.
“Ah, okay. If you have nothing to do, let’s go to the flower garden and enjoy the beautiful flowers there,” Agran invited Ella.
“Okay, let’s go!” Ella replied cheerfully.
Ella and Agran left the living room, going to the flower garden.
While Ramza and Kate remained seated on the wooden bench.
“My love, when are we going to get married?” Ramza inquired.
“I can’t get married unless sister Ivy will get married first. That is our tradition in the village where I used to live,” Kate explained.
Ramza scratches his head. “Huh, what kind of tradition is that? The younger sister can’t get married unless the older sister married first?” he asked in amazement.
“Yes, that’s our tradition,” Kate answered.
“But you are no longer residing in the village, therefore there’s no need to follow that stupid tradition!” Ramza expressed his annoyance.
Kate pinched his nose. “Let’s not rush into marriage. Sister Ivy and Ella were still undergoing life-changing events. I can’t settle down right now while my sisters were facing serious problems in their lives. Let’s see after one year, maybe their situation will improve…” she said.
“Okay, I understand, my love. Let’s wait after one year,” he finally relented.
“Don’t worry, I’m yours. I will never marry anyone, only you. You have nothing to worry about me,” Kate assured him.
“Nice to hear that my love, rest assured that my love is forever yours and no one can take your place in my heart. I’m yours forever and ever,” Ramza made an oath.
Kate smiled sweetly. “I love you!” she whispered in his ear.
“I love you too!” replied Ramza in elation.
They were holding hands while looking at each other’s eyes. Their surrounding becomes rosy and filled with sunshine.
They were contented talking sweet nothings to each other in the living room.
Five hours later.
Evening time.
They were about to begin eating dinner when Aspen finally returned, he just arrived at the mountain. He joined them at the table.
They resumed eating.
Dinner was finished after one hour.
The girls cleaned the dishes in the kitchen while the men retire into the living room.
“We’re going back to the island,” Ramza said.
“Okay, thanks for visiting the girls today. You are welcome to visit here every day,” Aspen said.
“Thanks, Aspen, we’re going home now,” said Ramza.
Agran and Ramza walked towards the stairs that will lead them to the ground floor and out of the house.
Aspen followed them outside, he’s going to the flower garden to inhale fresh air while watching the full moon in the sky.
When Ramza and Agran disappeared from his view, he proceeds to the flower garden.
He stayed there until 8:00 in the evening.
He was about to leave the garden and go back to the house when suddenly… a multitude of butterflies flocked in the air and gathered around the garden.
Aspen saw the leader of the butterfly, he recognized its bright pinkish color and its big size, the biggest among all the butterflies gathering in the air right now.
The leader of the butterfly landed at the top of Aspen’s head.
The rest of the butterfly gathered around Aspen and bathed him with dazzling colors.
A few minutes later.
Aspen disappeared from the flower garden along with the butterflies.

Rest time.
Kate was about to close the door and locked it from the inside when she remembered Aspen. She looked at her younger sister. “Did you saw Aspen?” she asked.
“No, I didn’t see him. Maybe he went away. Just close the door, he will knock if he arrives,” Ella replied.
“Okay,” Kate said and locked the door.
They went upstairs and saw Ivy sitting in the living room. She was sporting a dejected expression on her face, staring at the window.
Ella went to her side. “Sister, I’ll comb your hair,” she offered while holding the hairbrush in her right hand.
Ivy smiled and let Ella comb her hair.
After a while, Ella and Kate looked at each other.
Kate went to the room, she returned with a mirror. She gave it to her younger sister.
Ella put the mirror in front of the three of them, Ivy was at the center of them. “Ivy, looked at our faces…can you see the striking resemblance?” she asked.
“Yes, Ivy, please looked closely!” Kate urged her older sister.
Ivy obeyed and looked at their faces and her face as well. She was speechless. Their resemblance to each other is striking. “Why is it that the three of us have similar features?” she asked. Due to her sorrow and sadness of losing her husband, she failed to notice that the two sisters’ physical features were similar to hers.
“Good question, Sister Ivy. The answer is because we are three sisters! You are our older sister! Whether you will accept it or not – but that’s the truth. Your fake husband Maxwell, that evil vampire erased your memory and planted your brain with another memory. That’s is why you can no longer remember us,” Kate explained.
“That’s the truth, Sister!” Ella declared.
Ivy sighed. She was getting confused now. In her memory she was the only child, her parents both died when their boat crashed in the sea and she was adopted by a fisherman until she meets Maxwell who saves her from bad people who are trying to take advantage of her. That’s the only thing that she can remember in her memory. Nothing else…
It’s either her late husband Maxwell was the one lying or these girls? But their striking physical resemblance to each other can only mean one thing, they might be blood relatives somehow. What is the truth? Who is telling the truth and who is lying?
Suddenly a pounding headache came crashing into her head, she gasped in pain and holds her head with both hands.
“Ivy, what’s wrong?” Kate asked worriedly.
“My head hurts!” Ivy said.
“Okay, let’s not talk anymore. Stand up, Ivy, I will escort you now to our room so that you can take your rest,” said Ella.
Ella and Ivy went to the room.
“Ivy, just lie in the bed and don’t mind much what we are saying out there. Don’t think too much about it, or else your headache might worsen. Good night, ” Ella told her.
Ivy nodded her head. “Okay,” she replied and lay down on the bed.
Ella picked up the blanket and draped it around her sister.
After settling Ivy in the bed, Ella exited the room to talk to her sister.
“Sister Ivy always suffers a painful headache every time we insisted to her that she is our sister,” Ella said. “Maybe, we should no longer insist to her that we are blood-related,” she added.
“Yes, I noticed that also. Maybe, we should avoid discussing such a delicate and confusing topic with her from now on. She can’t accept us yet,” Kate agreed and sighed. She rose to her feet. “Let’s retire for the night,” she told her younger sister.
“Okay,” Ella said.
The girls went inside the bedroom and retire for the night.
Outside the house, the full moon was shining brightly in the sky along with the multitude of stars sparkling in the heavens above.
The flower garden become silent, no trace of the butterflies and Aspen can be found.
They disappeared out of the blue.
