The Tale Of Three Sisters - Chapter 200
Zemeth hired a guide who can bring him to the lands of the Ancient Hill…the dwellings of the Oracles, Sage, Healers, and Diviner. These type of people loves to stay close to nature and enjoy the peaceful surrounding while people from all walks of life with different illness and strange malady comes for a visit to their domain, originating from far-flung areas.
Zemeth’s entourage was composed of three people, the guide and the servant who take care of their belongings.
They rode the horses day and night for five days straight and only rest during the night, passing through mountains, rivers, streams, forest, and vast lush vegetation, encountering only a few houses in between.
As they go deeper into the Ancient Hill…there were more trees, streams, and mountains, than empty vast spaces.
The first wooden house that they come to was owned by Edorta, the Scent Watcher. They stopped over in that place to rest for the night, replenished their water and food supply, and give their horses some food and rest as well in exchange for monetary rewards such as silver or gold.
The place was run by his human disciples. Edorta will only appear during the night. His specialty – he can tell a person’s desire and secrets just by smelling his scent.
However, that night, Edorta failed to appear and Zemeth’s entourage sleep throughout the night and resumed their journey in the morning.
They traveled the whole day and arrived at their next destination before sunset.
The cluster of wooden houses was located near the stream, with flower and herbal gardens as well as medicinal plants. The place was owned by Alister the Poison Master.
He greeted the new arrivals himself along with his servants. “What can I do for you, gentleman?” he asked Zemeth.
They settled at the wooden table located outside the house.
“I’m here to find a healer who can help me….” Zemeth started.
“Okay…continue…”
“My soon to be wife has got her memory wiped out by a vampire and planted a new memory in her mind. She had forgotten about me. I want to find someone who can restore her previous memory,” he said.
“And…?”
“My wife’s sister was also bitten by a beast and was transformed into an old woman. These are two of my biggest concern in coming here. I’m hoping to find the right people who can help these two women end their sufferings,” Zemeth explained.
Alister, the Poison Maker rubbed his chin. “I see…since I’m only a poison maker and healer I can’t help you with your problems. But worry not, a hundred miles away from here, at the foot of the mountain, there lived an old man with his family. His name is Ismat, the Bright Miracle Preserver, he is my friend. He can help you with the woman that got bitten by the beast. As for your soon to be wife, that got her memory wiped out, you have to ask him if he knows anyone who can restore her memory. That’s all I can help you,” he said.
“Thank you so much, Alister!” Zemeth said. “Please accept my gift as a token for your valuable information,” He gives the healer a pouch containing two pieces of silver and three pieces of gold.
The sage accepted the gift and rose to his feet. “Rest well and ask my servants if there is anything you need for tonight. I’ll take my leave now and retire for the night,” Alister said and left the table.
That night, Zemeth’s entourage was given the wooden house near the stream, it’s good for three people looking for decent accommodation for the night.
They sleep well through the night and wake up early in the morning. After breakfast, they set on a journey again.
They traveled a hundred miles. They finally arrived at the foot of the mountain where three wooden houses were located near the river.
They were greeted by an old woman and her teenage grandson.
“What can we do for you, gentleman?” asked the old woman.
“Good day, Grandma!” Zemeth greeted her. “Sorry for the intrusion, I’m looking for Ismat, the Bright Miracle Preserver,” he said.
“What for-?” she asked.
“I have a sister-in-law who got bitten by a beast and was transformed into an old woman after the tragic incident,” Zemeth explained.
“Are you looking to reverse the result?” asked the old woman.
“You mean, turn the one who bit her into a beast again and my sister-in-law’s original look restored?” Zemeth asked.
“Yes…it’s possible to do that,” the old woman said.
Zemeth was stupefied for a moment. “No, not necessary. I just want the girl to recover her old looks, no need to turn the young man into a beast again,” he explained.
“Ah, okay I got it. In that case, just talk to my husband inside our house and tell him everything,” the old woman replied and walked towards the house.
Zemeth followed her.
Before they reached the door, an old man exited the house. “What is it wife?” he asked.
The wife glanced at Zemeth. “This man here has a problem, please talk to him…” she said and took her leave.
“Okay, let’s talk over there,” the old man said pointing at the wooden bench situated under the shade of the tree. He took the lead.
The men settled on the bench.
The old man looked at Zemeth. “Tell me everything, lad,” he said.
Zemeth cleared his throat. “I have a sister-in-law who got bitten by a beast. The beast transformed into a handsome young man while my sister-in-law transformed into an old woman…” he explained.
The old man nods his head. “I see… so what do you want? I can reverse the result. Restore the young woman’s look and turned back that young man into a beast,” he offered.
“Ah, not that. The young man was infatuated with the girl. He loves the girl so much. I don’t want his old hideous appearance back. I just want the girl’s youthful look to be restored,” Zemeth insisted.
“Hmm…we need a new life to end the curse. Let see what can I do…” the old man said. “Ah, by the way.. where is this girl? I need to see her first. Can you bring her to me tomorrow?” the old man said.
“Yeah sure, no problem. I can teleport back to that place and bring the girl here,” Zemeth replied.
“Good, then bring the young man also. I need to see them both with my own two eyes,” said Ismat.
“Okay, I’ll bring them here tomorrow,” Zemeth said.
That night.
Zemeth’s entourage camped in the area near the house. The next day, before the break of dawn, Zemeth teleported back to the island.
At the island.
He found Grandpa Jegun and Ramza strolling on the beach while Agran was boiling water in the kitchen.
“Grandpa! I’m back temporarily!” Zemeth announced his presence.
“Oh, nice to see you again, lad! How’s your search for the healer?” Jegun asked.
“I found a healer for Ella…but there’s a problem,” Zemeth replied.
“What is it?” asked Ramza.
“The healer can reverse the result. Restore Ella’s original look and after that Agran’s old look will return to its original state before he bit Ella,” Zemeth explained.
A worried look flashed on Jegun’s face. “No! We can’t allow that to happen! Is there any way to restore Ella’s look without altering Agran’s current look?” he asked.
“The healer wants to see both Ella and Agran, he will try to see what he can do,” Zemeth said.
Jegun scratches his head. “I just hope there’ll be another way…” he said, feeling distressed upon hearing the news.
“Grandpa, I will bring you to the healer together with Ella and Agran today,” Zemeth said. “We’ll go now to fetch Ella from the mountain.”
Agran exited the house and approached them. “Zemeth bro, you’re back!” he said smiling brightly.
“Yeah, I’m back to bring you and Ella to the healer. There is a way to restore Ella’s look, but the healer needs to see her and you together,” Zemeth said.
Agran smiled, feeling happy for Ella. “No problem, I’ll go with you and Ella. I’ll support her all the way,” he said innocently.
Jegun sighed and patted Agran’s shoulder. He doesn’t have the heart to tell the boy what’s the possible thing to happen between him and Ella.
“Alright, let’s go now and fetch Ella from the mountain!” Agran said excitedly.
Zemeth, Ramza, and Agran looked at each other, worrying about the boy.
“Okay, let’s go!” said Zemeth.
Ramza activated the magic portal and the neon opening showed up in front of them. They entered the portal and disappeared from the island.
The portal reappeared in the mountain, the men exited the portal and the neon opening vanished from their eyes.
They entered the house.
“Anybody home?” Ramza said.
Kate appeared at the top of the stairs. “Hello…guys!” she said, smiling at the visitors.
The men ascended the stairs.
They settled in the living room.
Zemeth looked at Kate. “Where is Ella? I have a piece of good news for her,” he said.
“What is it?” asked Kate.
“I found a healer who is willing to take a look at Ella’s case. He can restore Ella’s youthful look,” Zemeth went direct to the point.
Kate’s eyes sparkled with happiness. “Wow! That’s good news!” she exclaimed.
“I will bring her to the healer together with Grandpa Jegun and Agran. I will leave Ramza here with you, girls. By the way, where is Aspen?” Zemeth asked.
“He’s currently not here. Maybe he went to the market to visit his lady friend. I will bring Ella here, she’s in the backyard together with Ivy feeding the hens and rooster,” Kate answered.
“Okay, we will wait here,” Zemeth replied.
Kate left the living room and went to the backyard to get the girls. She told Ella about the good news.
She returned to the living room a few minutes later with Ella and Ivy.
Zemeth and Ivy locked eyes for a few seconds, they both smiled at each other a little.
“Thank you for the good news, guys! I’ll change my clothes first!” Ella said and bolted to the bedroom excitedly to change her clothes.
Five minutes later, Ella returned, smiling brightly. “I’m ready!” she beamed at everyone in the room.
The men rose to their feet.
“We’re leaving now! We will return Ella probably this afternoon or in the evening.” Zemeth said.
“Okay, take your time!” Kate said cheerfully, expecting that when her younger sister returned to the mountain, her original look was already restored.
They exited the house.
Ramza and Kate watched as Ella and the men entered the magic portal and disappeared from their view.
They returned inside the house.
